Tickets for Monday's Raw in Anaheim have been going really fast. The sales picked up as soon as A.J. Styles was announced believe it or not. Raw hasn't sold out yet this year but this one looks to sell out by the weekend.

I remember the next week the hour AJ was in didn't fall off as much as the next hour. AJ was the only notable thing that hour.

Ever since he's debuted, if I'm not mistaken, they've put him at the top of the hour, which indicates that they think that he's a draw. Even when working with Miz.

AJ Styles’ New T-Shirt Sells Out Quickly

January 25, 2016

Newly debuted WWE Superstar AJ Styles has already sold out his first WWE T-Shirt. Within just a couple of hours of going on sale the shirt already sold out in all adult sizes. There’s no timeline for when when these will be back in stock.

Now it's a matter of how they handle him. I always felt that Owens had a potential to draw, and they screwed it all up pretty quickly. Those KO shirts were a great idea, and you could feel the momentum, and he came in with the booking fanfare of someone who mattered. Why piss that all away?

What say you?

Again, props to the Phenomenal One. Didn't know he'd be getting this much attention from the fans right out of the gate. Although it does help to remember that despite Styles great run in NJPW, he also had some mainstream wrestling attention as one of TNA's most featured prospects. I mean, LOLTNA, but they might have had something to do with Styles being familiar to the casual audience.

The Miz and Jericho have done wonders in this feud, and they deserve most of the credit. It's laughable to even entertain the thought of RAW selling out due to AJ Styles fpalm. He still hasn't proven zilch, at anything. Also, what a mountain out of a mole hill being made of his 1st batch of what could very well possibly be very less no. of shirts by WWE standards selling out, as they are for any 1st batch to test the waters. Unwarranted hype, as always.

He's used rap in all three places. He seems to really like it. I can see what you're saying, but that's why I like it for him. Gives him a bit of an edge.

@Corey, I don't want to go into that Puro thread and be spoiled, so in the non-spoiler thread could you give me your ratings for the last six matches at New Beginning, please?

Awesome. AJ has delivered so far. They're very obviously positioning him as Daniel Bryan's successor, and I believe it's working.

I'll keep saying it until I read a news story saying it's happened- Miz deserves a pay raise for the promo he did getting AJ over.

Just finished watching Smackdown. AJ had his first really good match in WWE, close to 4 stars. Much better than AJ vs. Y2J I.

Well, they are clearly testing the waters with him because they used a top of the hour spot on Raw to hype his Smackdown match with Chris Jericho (did a good job of it too)

They then built this weeks Smackdown entirely around that match and AJ/Jericho (I'm yet to see it but that's how it's been reported)

If Smackdown shows an increase this week then it's probably down to the fact they've used AJ in a prominent position and advertised him. Like someone else said though, it's one thing to have a guy who's showing drawing potential (CM Punk springs top mind in 2011) and another thing entirely to book that guy effectively to get the maximum out of him.

WWE have a nasty habit of getting by on the bare minimum and squandering money making opportunities.

Definitely not declaring victory. Like I said in the OP, they f'ed it up with Kevin. AJ is just showing more promising signs than anyone in recent memory. Let the record show that, and let it be there for all to see if WWE inevitably starts mishandling it.

Don't know if "AJ Styles" chant during Vince segments are a good thing for AJ or not... :lol
