I really miss the way the Rock punched people. You could tell it connected as it made a sound. Most punches you can tell are fake as fuck but Rock hit a happy medium. It made a sound. It looked real and yet it didn't hurt too bad.

Also, and I cant believe I am praising him, Kane's uppercut.

If I could mould a wrestler it would be Tajiri's kicks, the Rocks punches and Kane's uppercut.

Bret Hart threw the best punches

Rock's punches were more like him bitch-slapping the taste outta the mouths of candyass jabronies.

Those slaps looked and sounded legit. Him layin' the Smacketh Down was one of the highlights of his matches, especially when he would do that little customized taunt at his opponent, before delivering the final, kaioken-esque slap

This is a "sport" where people bounce off the ropes towards their opponent. Being concerned with how genuine or legitimate any move looks seems kind of silly.

The finishing moves of each of the top 3 draws of all time:

-People's Elbow
-Stone Cold Stunner
-Leg Drop

^All look beyond fake and wouldn't hurt anyone in a real fight.

I'd describe Rock's as more of slap than a punch, but I agree, the connection was sweet. Austin had a good, traditional, working punch.

The only things miss about striking back in the 90s and the striking now is everyone who was over had their own signature strikes. Very rarely were stars using generic strikes like they do now, like literally all of them do now except BubbaRay. No one stole other guys strikes either as to allow that person to let it be noticed as THEIRS, ie: now a days there's 25 guys super kicking and big booting, total lack of respect and ruins the devastation and takes your connection away from a certain guys kit aka waters it down. It helped build character, something the current generation doesn't know how to do, which is most likely due to the super thin margin of error they're now required to work under as opposed to before with nazi Vince and corporate America watering every aspect down even further.

As for the rocks punches looking real, absolutely not LMAO. He had a custom pun up which was cool and authentic but they never looked like brute fists that connected at all.....more like the rock wiggling around while doing them Nc the his opponent overselling like crazy when he spit in his hand lol

Also depends on who is in the ring at the time. Sheamus is known to be stiff with his friends... the Sheamus/Cesaro bookings tend to be a hard hitting affair...

If a Barrett v Sheamus match gets booked again, you can see they actually do some decent damage to each other
