The guy keeps flashing that he can actually get around.
It's interesting because most of his arsenal are power moves. But seeing him get off the ground or suicide diving over the ropes adds an extra dimension that it seems like he hasn't had before.
I have found him to be increasingly well rounded since his return in late 2014. I especially liked his Payback 2015 match with Bray Wyatt. It makes me wish the guy would be pushed more. He could make a good main eventer with the right booking.
He incorporated some aerial moves in his arsenal and the running knee on the corner, a shot to Punk perhaps??, he's trying to improve and I appreciate that
Think every big guy who can move should start doing them. Brocks knees to Strowman in the rumble looked real good too. Something about a giant dude running and smashing you with their knee gives off a good impression.
I feel such moves undermine a strong guy's presence.
Everyone can see that high risk moves don't do a lot of damage. It's a smaller guy's way of making up for lacking strength.
When a brute like Ryback does this, people say "why is this guy killing himself when he can basically beat people to dust?"
It's psychological things like this that destroy wrestling's credibility.
I agree with this but it's nice to see evolution as well. It can be made a part of his character development like when Bryan was going through his "Weakest link" phase. He's so desperate to show that he's more than just a musclehead and going outside of his wheelhouse has lead to mistakes that has cost him matches.
Or maybe it could be that he's already on a losing streak so he's trying new things to try and break it.
There's ways to incorporate high risk moves into a big guys psychology but it's mostly on the commentators to sell that story.
Yes, Ryback doing a moonsault in his mid 30s would be impressive considering he's spent most of his career being a big lug who relies on a few standard power moves.
Not sure why you think being impressed with Ryback doing a moonsault is somehow mutually exclusive to being impressed guys like Vader or Brock did high flying moves considering nothing in my post even remotely implied as such.
He's improved, but it certainly isn't doing anything for him. Also hard for the crowd to get behind a powerhouse who loses too much. There have been so many times where he's gained momentum and they just abort it, and he returns to doing nothing. He deserves more despite what a lot of people on here think about him.
He should be paired and put in a tag team. I know they tried about a year or so ago but I don't think he has a place going after any singles title at this point.
Just a shame they aired some weird and pointless vignette for him only for Wyatt to then go over him clean. Is he a big deal or not? Make up your mind, WWE.
My question is, why has Vince not pushed this man more. Huge muscles that Vince likes, decent on the mic and decent in the ring. You would think this guy is everything Vince looks for in a wrestler.
Glad to see folks are giving THE BIG GUY props on his clearly improved ring work. Even the mooks at commentary are selling it by acting pleasantly surprised at his new arsenal.
Expanded moveset + Improved mic work + DA LOOK = Main eventer, easily. His new attire is the cherry on top due to being a great example of simple yet effective, since it now sports his R logo and allows him to show of his outstanding physique. PUSH HIM TO THE TOP, VINCE!
