On this weekend's edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer mentioned that he spent time with Tanner Saraceno of WWE Tough Enough fame at Friday's World MMA Awards. During that time, Saraceno told Meltzer many interesting details regarding the show.
Saraceno said that all of the sit-down interviews are totally scripted. Tanner recalled having to do several takes of a specific interview because there was a term the producers asked him to use that he didn't include.
It was obvious to him from the start that the WWE wanted Josh to win. Saraceno told Meltzer that the show would display each time Josh did something well, but not necessarily when other people did the same.
The company tried to to the same with Amanda, who was later hired by WWE for Total Divas as Mandy Rose. They didn't anticipate Sara Lee being so popular and it backfired.
Tanner said that even though WWE hired ZZ and Amanda, he wasn't hired and was told that his promos weren't good enough and that he should make a name in MMA first. Saraceno won a fight against Tommy Metzger in November, and will make his pro MMA debut next month.
Yeah, honestly you could tell that entire show was a fucking sham. Once Sara started gaining popularity, they did that episode to show her "overcome the odds" of the judges shitting on her, even though she really didn't overcome anything and was just as terrible at the end of the episode as she was at the start, yet it was done to make sure she'd survive her vote. The voting was all so fucking manipulated by editing and producing certain performers better than others.
The fact that they even scripted their sitdown interviews is fucking pathetic, though :lol That's awful. How is it a contest if you're giving them characters to play?
I always said the thing with Josh was very weird, the guys it' like a clone of Roman Reigns, big dude, with daughter, tattoos, long hair, beard and similar at the mic also the time HHH interacted with him they were behaving like pals, lol.
I really hope Josh don't break the curse of the TE winners.
Plus the thing about WWE wanting Tanner to make a name for himself on MMA first in order to get a job with them sounds so ridicule that unfortunately made me believe him 100% xD
He looks like Roman Reigns. Of course Vince was high on him. Good thing Josh has already outed himself as a cunt on twitter. I expect nothing less then a hazing from the other wrestlers.
None of the guys stood out to me. Patrick reminds me of Finn from the latest Star Wars movie, Mada looks stupid and Josh thinks acting like chewbacca is gonna make him millions of dollars
Idk, it seem like Patrick was the one they wanted but once he developed the ego problem they humbled him and send him home. Mada was their second choice. Josh became the defacto winner.
With the ladies, I think dianna was the one they wanted for the beginning. She got so much airtime. She was a shoe in for total divas and her face/body would be cue*antonio band eras gif*
I am really impressed the way this forum is helping to gain me more and more knowledge about WWE. And when it comes to Josh, I am super-excited always.
I love how some people were claiming TE was not scripted , and now its even more confirmed how scripted it is lol. the only thing they couldnt script was the voting since there was 250k on the line but if they could have they would have.
Tanner was probably the most athletic of the bunch, Mada had a BIG personality and charisma whereas Patrick understood more about the business but was/is too much of a smark. I'd sack him day one.
I feel Josh won by default or the WWE didn't think Tanner and Mada were worth the time due to size/race.
Vince didnt want Tanner to make a name for himself in the WWE then jump ship to MMA. He would rather Tanner make a name for himself in MMA (if he can) then come back to the WWE. IMO
Make Roman look strong about to being replaced with Make Josh Look Good :banderas
