hardys- matt successful mid card feud, jeff world champ
edge and Christian- edge 12 time world champion, christian upper mid card success world champion
rockers- hbk became a goat singles star
hart foundation- bret became successful singles star
evolution- built two future hall of famers in orton and batista
hell no- helped bryan get massively over
dx- helped establish Helmsley as a star

i could go on an on but the point is no current tag team or stable is going to be used to develop future single stars, an i think the wwe are missing a huge opportunity to test whether people are going to be successful and over as a singles star

Kalisto? Big E? Both are regularly in singles matches, they're clearly picking guys out of the tag teams that they think will be successful on their own and giving them singles matches.

Also The Shield? Created 3 singles stars out of that, the Wyatt Family? Bray is a star if they so choose to follow through with him

Nowadays it is the other way around: Vince puts all singles "stars" into stables when he's done with wasting them/feeding to one guy ad nauseam.

Then rinse & repeat as a group.

Yeah they have done well with what they have at the moment. Kalisto, Big E will get a singles push eventually, all the Shield has done well and then we have Bray who if used correctly, will become a star, it's there it's possible but when all said and done, it's the WWE.

This is the formula for a successful stable

*Take one established/over main event guy
*Add a couple guys with potential

/end

Every stable that has ever gotten over/helped to get new talent over has followed this formula, the younger guys feed off the over-star and begin to rise to his level.

Stables are also an easy way for Booking to push multiple wrestlers at once, the eventual debut of Bullet Club will showcase Styles among Gallows & Anderson then whether Balor eventually joins with them to debut MR too after dropping NXT title is a natural progress.
WWE seems to have lost their way with tagteam focus and rarely have split singles wrestlers off from a major tagteam for awhile, if anything they use tagteams now to revamp midcarders like Cesaro and others. Atm Kalisto has gone off from Lucha Dragons purely because of Sin Cara's shoulder injury.

The reverse is also true. Sometimes a team or stable is greater than the sum of its parts. There was a time the team of R-Truth and Miz was one of the best things going in the WWE. Individually, not so much..

Sometimes guys that might not see as huge success individually can go much further in a team. There are a ton of these over time, R&R Express, Midnite Express, Tully and Arn, Road Warriors, etc..

Some teams shouldn't be broken. The New Day is a prime example right now. The worst thing they could ever do with Kofi, E and Woods is break them up.

Also, Bray Wyatt not having followers = Lame.
