What do you guys think of this pairing. Yeah i know Owens doesn't need a mouthpiece, but neither did Punk. They could roll off each other. I think they could be gold together, and maybe eventually lead to a Owens/Brock program.
The Curtis Axel, Cesaro and Ryback partnerships with Heyman flopped. I think Heyman should only work with established main eventers like Lesnar, Angle, Punk ect ect.
The reason why the Heyman and Cesaro thing flopped was because when Heyman was with him all Heyman did was put over Lesnar and ignored Cesaro, it was stupid
He was managing Axel, Ryback and Brock at one stage (Brock was off TV at the time but did appear once in a backstage interview with Axel) and obviously he was managing Punk/Brock simultaneously. Then there was Cesaro also.
I think the reason for not having Heyman acquire a ton of wrestlers and work all year round is simply to avoid over exposure. He and Brock are now pretty much a package deal.
I think Heyman cutting promos for 5 or 6 different wrestlers on a weekly basis would be far too excessive. :lol
Owens/Heyman might work but I think after the failures of Axel, Ryback and Cesaro they are just happy to keep him exclusive to Brock from now on.
After Heyman's awful "managing" of Cesaro, where he came out week after week putting over Brock instead of the guy standing right next to him, I'd say keep Paul far away from Owens. :fuckedup
To be fair to Heyman, he was told to do that, the plan was for him to continue with Brock, Cesaro was simply used as a means to get Heyman on TV and continue putting over Brock
Maybe WWE just needs a total freaking refresh, and find some valets that aren't prehistoric.
Heyman's gimmick hit its peak with Brock. Unless Heyman starts a faction that he leads, then hell no to ever letting him valet for anyone not named Brock.
Heyman worked well with Brock/Punk because he has a personal relationship with both of them, and they could do exactly what they wanted together. When he was just randomly thrown guys, Cesaro, Axel, Ryback, etc, it didn't work out very well since he has no chemistry with them and they simply aren't the kind of talents that Brock/Punk are. If Owens turned face to battle the Authority, pairing him with Heyman would be just fine. But why would Owens right now want or need Heyman talking for him?
It'd be interesting, problem is, Lesnar is coming back, at some point, so what happens then? You could work an angle with KO and Brock but you'd need to build Owens up really fast because right now, he's not a believable opponent for Brock
I feel that Heyman works well with Lesnar so well, because he has been with him literally since day 1 of his debut. It seems more authentic that, yes, he legitimately is his guy.
Randomly aligning with Owens out of nowhere would not nearly have the same affect, and in fact feel Forced, the way it was with Cesaro and Axel.
CM Punk, by the way, worked somewhat because at least the backstory was presented on how Heyman vouched for Punk since his early ECW days with the company, so that at least made some sense (even though Punk didn't really need a mouthpiece).
There is no backstory whatsoever with Owens and Heyman, and it would come off as phony, and would not work. It would actually hinder the progress of the Kevin Owens character, the same way it did Cesaro. Plus I think Kevin Owens is ok talking on his own. If you are going to align KO with anybody, the obvious choice is Triple H, because you at least know that behind the scenes, Hunter vouches for him.
It needs to happen! You have the best Wrestling mind in history, and one of the best wrestlers to ever step foot in that ring? Omg, you sir are a genius.
Heyman was only ever good at managing his friends like Lesnar and CM Punk. When he managed Cesaro he didn't even talk about Cesaro he would just stand next to him and gloat about Brock Lesnar. He said it himself in an interview that the only reason he managed Cesaro was because it would give him tv time only because he was Lesnars manager.
What's the point? WWE will just fuck it up. No pairing with Heyman has worked besides Brock Lesnar.. Owens would end up like Cesaro, they would pair him with Owens while Lesnar is on vacation. He would likely still be putting Brock over when he's on TV... Heyman should stay exclusively to Brock Lesnar.. It's still special to see Heyman because he's not on every week.
Yeah I really want to hear Paul Heyman standing in the ring every Monday saying "when my client Kevin Owens defeated John Cena that one time"
Isn't old enough from when Owens says it literally every time he's allowed to talk?
