Taken from Foley's FB:

GETTING CLOSE
I'm going to quote an article from July, 2014, called "The Sad Case Of Zack Ryder" in which I wrote: "Eventually, people get tired of finding out that the WWE Superstars they have supported with their cheers, their signs, their purchases, their follows, and their likes aren't real Superstars - and, little by little, those fans lose interest in WWE, find other interests, and become former WWE fans."

I am one of those people on the verge of becoming a former WWE fan. I'm tired of being told through Raw, Smackdown and PPV's that WWE superstars I have rooted for - from Ziggler to Cesaro to Kevin Owens aren't top stars - no matter how strongly crowd reaction seems to disagree. I'm tired of NXT stars getting their big "break" in WWE, just to be treated like jokes.

Six months ago, my son and I traveled 12 hours – from Eastern Tennessee to Orlando, Florida to watch Sasha Banks wrestle Becky Lynch at ‪#‎NXTTakeover‬.- One of the greatest women's matches of all time. Last night, in what I believe was their first singles match on ‪#‎RAW‬ Sasha and Becky were given four minutes. At a time when WWE desperately needs to make new stars – when they need to give wrestlers with talent the opportunity to break through – they gave Sasha and Becky four minutes. I turned the channel, and watched a pretty good football game instead. I think I can get used to watching football games on Monday night again.

I will be watching RAW this Monday. Maybe, as is often the case in relationships, they will give me just enough to remind me why I love wrestling - just enough to keep me coming back. Maybe they will even give Sasha and Becky a rematch – and a legitimate chance to show the world what they can do. .

There is an old saying in politics : as Ohio goes, so goes the nation. Think of me as the Ohio of wrestling fans. If I leave, it's not just one disgruntled former fan; finding something else to do on Monday nights. Instead, my leaving might well be an indication of a larger exodus from WWE.
Please, WWE, please - give me a reason to stay.
It feels like he does this every few months, no?

He's dead right in a lot of aspects to be honest.

The Sasha vs Becky match was a big disappointment, while they did face off on Main Event, this was their first match against each other since that Takeover which was on a reasonably big stage. The finish was well executed, but to give those two, with the talent that they have, only 4 minutes (As well as Becky getting a largely non televised entrance) is frankly shocking. The crowd were actually pretty into it from the get go so i can't imagine how disappointed some of them were by it. Not Sasha or Becky's fault by any means, but many fans will probably look at that match and think 'what's the big deal about them?' The WWE doesn't truly know how to show off its talent properly.

It's annoying as hell seeing certain superstars have their popularity rise so high only to get shut right back down by WWE's fixation on only pushing their chosen people.

Foley is right with his qualms.

Yeah FUCK Mick Foley.

I certainly know that if I gave an ear, a few teeth, dozens of concussions, buckets of blood, broken bones, dilapidated knees and hundreds of scars - not withstanding being the first wrestler to really open the floodgates for wrestlers writing successful autobiographies, being one of the best talkers in the business, being thrown off cells and cages and being hit with chairs all for other peoples amusement - for nearly THIRTY years, I would sit back and watch the industry that I helped build crumble before my very eyes and just sit back and do nothing about it because I accept all kinds of mediocrity every single week like a clueless potato headed dunce.

FUCK Mick Foley. Fucking neckbeard smarky warky mark mark IWC cocksucker cunt lololololololololol.

Foley is right. To be honest, I'm losing interest in WWE as well and it's just a constant cycle of hoping it'll get better and realising it's never going to.

On a side note; it's fucking laughable how some of you feel your opinion is more valid than Mick Foley... one of the all time greats who spent decades of his life wrestling. :lol

I agree that Foley comes out with these "revelations" too often, but I've gotta put myself in his shoes... The guy literally sacrificed his wellbeing for this business. Yes, I realize that was "his choice" and that he didn't have to do it, but wrestling used to be a very important/fun thing for A LOT of people for a very long time. He was a genuine fan who loved the sport and decided to sacrifice a great deal for this thing that used to be so amazing.

Of course he's pissed. I'd rant about it every chance I got if the business that I (along with many others) killed myself trying to take to the next level (and succeeded at taking to the next level) only to see it all thrown away for seemingly no reason. He's just passionate about it, as he should be. Imagine if you were sitting at home half crippled because of your efforts at making the business great, only to turn on the TV and see the state it's in nowadays.

But hey, Mick, I watch MNF over wrestling each week as well... Trust me, your Monday nights are about to be a lot more fun.

Foley's right, but I don't feel he needed to include Kevin Owens in his rant. Owens is the only new guy in a very long time to come out of a feud with Cena and still manage to flourish. Hell, in the long run, it was a good thing that KO never beat Cena for the US Title.

What Mick said at the end is perhaps the biggest thing about this whole WWE product floundering. This company needs to give people a reason to care again.

WWE is directionless right now for everyone not named 'Roman Reigns' or those that are currently involved with him. The fact that their sole attention is on getting him over while ignoring everyone else is maddening. If I didn't already shave my head I'd yank that shit out each week (I have zero problem with them pushing him, it's the fact that nobody else matters to them that pisses me off).

And the difference between Sasha vs Becky last night and Sasha vs Becky in NXT earlier this year - a MotY candidate - was both mind blowing and infuriating.

Those two absolutely killed it in NXT. Again, a legitimate MotY caliber match. On WWE's flagship show last night, the match was short and not very good, through absolutely no fault of the two ladies because we've seen what they can do. It's the 'WWE style' which dumbs down the movesets of its talent, and the fact that it got absolutely no time. Also, the NXT match had a story; a reason to take place beyond " I don't like you", or, "I want your title". You want a 'Diva's revolution', WWE? Give Becky and Sasha the reigns instead of the girl who does-everything-her-father-does-but-doesn't-want-to-be-known-for-being-his-daughter, who isn't very good beyond being athletic, and fuck off with last night's bullshit 4 minute match between two incredible talents.

Everything Foley said is spot on. To any that would mock him for saying it but continuing to watch, well, I don't think that's fair. If you really love wrestling like Foley does, even when it pisses you off, you're gonna watch. Doesn't mean you can't vent. Doesn't mean you can't say you'll leave but not actually leave. It just shows that he gives a shit, like most of us who do the very same thing.

He's completely right in certain aspects but at the same time I think he can let his love of Sasha/Becky cloud his judgment. Remember months ago when he was begging for divas to get multiple matches and time, well last night we got two matches both of which were pretty good and one was very long, but because the one containing his faves was shorter he speaks up. Don't get me wrong I wish the Becky/Sasha one was longer as they are phenomenal to watch, but I jut think Mick's bias is rearing it's head.

He's just using those two as an example, but he listed a few other guys who have been basically shit on, too. Even just using this example, though, he's 100% right, especially when you think about the 20 minutes of channel-changing crap they open every show with, the massive egos usually taking most of it up, and the many other segments they invariably show up in throughout the show. It's obviously more important to them to keep their mugs in front of the camera than to give the fucking talent some actual tv time to try to get over.

Now, that being said, they did give Charlotte and Paige plenty of time in a later match, and it mostly worked -- but then you have the argument of who might be more deserving of that time than who actually got it.
