Call this farfetched if you like. I wouldn't blame you. But it is more than that, it is a ridiculous and terrible idea that one would only dream up in times of desperation. So the timing is right then.
What am I on about? The Undertakers legacy of course. And I don't mean his legacy as a WWE employee. I mean his legacy as a servant to the business of Professional Wrestling.
Maybe it was just me, but last night before Undertaker took in the adulations of the crowd, it appeared to me as if he was looking around going "Wow, all of this is so average and mediocre these days".
Yes, I am speculating, it is an unbased and ridiculous opinion, I have already qualified this. But it really appeared as if he was looking around the audience wondering "why the hell do these people still pay for this shite?".
I could be wrong and I probably am. Either way, the following needs to happen:
The Undertaker is the only one with enough stroke to tell Vince he is never working for him again. But rather than throw your toys our of the pram, and bitch and moan, there has to be a real reason why Undertaker would do this, and he has to say the right things and get people on his side about it.
Simple:
"Vince, after everything I've done, I want one more match to bow out at WrestleMania. But what means more to me than my career, is the future of professional wrestling. I'm going to rest up this year and not be a part of WM32. I will come back if you start to write interesting television again, and stop boring the shit out of these people".
Now, I realise, and I have said this multiple times, it is a stupid and ridiculous concept. But The Undertaker is the only one who could say this and for it to mean something.
Furthermore even if he just made one or two simple comments to the media about how somebody needed to take a stand for the "Old School" mentality of entertaining your audience, and not shitting on them. This would allow other top Wrestling Professsionals to debate the issue. Because there needs to be more solid debate about the state of Professional Wrestling within WWE, which is a trash-Entertainment company.
Now, let me come back down to Earth for just one minute. Shit like this is NEVER EVER going to happen.
Why? The Undertaker doesn't give a shit about whether you are entertained or not. None of these wrestlers do. (Punk did, but whatever, that's not relevant).
The sad fact is that literally not one single employee of WWE cares about you or whether you are entertained, and yet you all keep watching. If the Undertaker was a Real Man, he would use his Real Man Testicles to stand up and say something about the very sorry state of Professional Wrestling within WWE as a "trash TV entertainment" company.
So no, this isn't happening, every talent is emasculated, every writer is devoid of creativity, every corporate suit has lost their soul, every single employee is a Sheep, except for one man, Vince, the delusional Shepherd.
I truly believe with every fibre of my being that WWE is nothing more than a hollow shell, a ghost, if you like. A parody of a corporation, they produce nothing more than Pretend Entertainment. It will never ever recover, and ironically the only legend big enough to save it is a Dead Man. But Dead Men have no soul either, he's going to bow out at WM32, leave you all behind, and once he retires, what will you all have left to watch?
NOTHING.
Fuck this company and everyone in it.
