Bayley and Sasha Banks made history Wednesday night, becoming the first female match to headline a WWE special event in the modern era. Shortly after the match, both Bayley and Sasha spoke to WWE.com about the match.
Bayley said that she isn't sure how she is where she is, and called Sasha Banks the best in the world.
"As a wrestler, I don't know how I'm already wrestling the best in the whole world. I'm so privileged to be in a ring with her and it means even more on a personal level because we grew up loving wrestling and this is all we want to do," Bayley said
Despite finding success on WWE's main roster with two big wins over the past week, former NXT Women's champion Sasha Banks said that she doesn't really want to leave NXT.
"I've already told her that I don't want to go. This is my home. This is where I grew up. If this is my last one, cause who knows in WWE, I'm so lucky I got to be in the ring with (Bayley) for this one. I know from years to come and WrestleMania, it's going to happen again. I don't know what we're going to do, but it's going to be crazy," Sasha said.
Bayley and Sasha Banks closed out the interview by saying that they're changing the game. Bayley said that having Lita and Stephanie McMahon there was awesome, because she remembered seeing them in a main event on Raw.
Re: Sasha Banks Says She Doesn't Want to Leave NXT, Bayley Calls Her The Best in The World
Its funny that Sasha will be receiving an alleged "promotion" in stature by moving to WWE, yet an obvious, extreme reduction in the caliber of her opponents (Bellas, Alicia Fox, Naomi, Tamina, etc). Its like "hey, you're getting an upgrade to the main roster! You're reward is facing crappier opponents!"
I know it wont happen, but I've often said that WWE should nix their Divas Division and let NXT be the home to Women's wrestling. They'll be booked far better and it would be a great way to distinguish NXT from WWE. They could extend NXT weekly by 30 minutes to accommodate the added women, plus I always wished that NXT would run longer.

That's actually a great idea. They should do that. They don't need to be on the main roster because it's not going to workout for them there and they're going to be beyond frustrated. Great idea. (Y)
Re: Sasha Banks Says She Doesn't Want to Leave NXT, Bayley Calls Her The Best in The World
"Wow! Great match on that little Takeover show! So on RAW tonight you along with Naomi and Taminia will face the Bellas and Alicia Fox in a six diva match tonight! I'm sure you'll make history with this one as well!" - Kevin Dunn
Its no wonder Sasha Banks broke down in tears after that match knowing that's what awaits her for the time being. Sweet FA
Re: Sasha Banks Says She Doesn't Want to Leave NXT, Bayley Calls Her The Best in The World
It legit angers me that she'll most likely be given shit on Raw. It's a joke how they book the women and it's frustrating knowing that we probably aren't going to get any more matches from her like we've had in NXT.
Getting called up to Raw is a demotion. That's how low the product has gone.
Re: Sasha Banks Says She Doesn't Want to Leave NXT, Bayley Calls Her The Best in The World
Watching that "WWE 24" NXT special ruined me on Sasha. I knew it would too, she's adorable and I physically can't dislike her. I wanted to go on believing she was a bitch but the dream is over. I wonder how long she'll survive as a true heel on RAW (if she even is one now) until the fans turn her face.
I hesitate to even use the term face because of WWE's narrow view of it (apparently 1997 hasn't happened yet in modern day WWE) - I'd say 'anti-hero' but she wouldn't even be an anti anything, just the same swagger and aloofness but booked against people fans don't like. She could be huge and in the long run I think she'll be a star, I just hope they 'get' her character and, y'know, don't have Stephanie tower over her in her high heels and pull rank with the "I'm 'the boss', you're an employee" bullshit to clip her wings.
I can see it now, they'll say how "it's a perfect underdog role" but that's not Sasha - she's the fucking *boss*. Oh God don't give her the 'kid getting scolded by the headmaster/principle' treatment. Anyone want to put money on it?
Re: Sasha Banks Says She Doesn't Want to Leave NXT, Bayley Calls Her The Best in The World
i'm sorry but the only place that she'll make any kind of real difference is on the main roster and not on the glorified developmental show. Bret and Shawn were part of a status quo that favored big men and a certain mold on the roster in the early 90s, but they slowly changed that perception over time through consistant hard work. when you want to make change, you must start from within the system that NEEDS change and learn to handle the bumps along the way. if the fans keep getting behind Sasha and friends, and if they keep putting on quality performances then at some point Vince will have no choice but to reevaluate things. Sasha should only stay in NXT if she needs to further develope her character, but not to be a mainstay imo..... unless she doesn't aspire to reach new heights and make a significant change on the main roster
bottom line is this: RAW = exposure NXT = niche audience. Sasha has much more opportunities to build her fanbase on the biggest stage possible. the fact that she's on RAW every week actually brings awareness to the NXT brand by her historical association..... a brand that showcases a heavy rotation of NEW talent which is part of it's appeal. if NXT keeps the same crop of characters for years then it loses part of that appeal
now her move to the main roster allows for other girls to take center stage for that brand, like Asuka for example. i'd actually love to see the main championship feud centered around Asuka and Nia Jax, that'd be a throwback to Kong and Kim circa 2007
at some point, every young adult leaves College no matter how fun it was :draper2

I think you got the wrong idea here. She's not trying to say she doesn't want to be on the main roster, she's just saying she doesn't want to leave NXT because it's so great. And for the record, plenty of older working people go back to college. It's never too late :cudi
Re: Sasha Banks Says She Doesn't Want to Leave NXT, Bayley Calls Her The Best in The World
If we never get to see Sasha/Asuka, then fuck everything. Can totally understand Sasha's viewpoint too, especially now she's experienced what life is like on both sides.
Can only hope that someday the way NXT handles the girls actually translates to the main roster in a genuine way, instead of the farce we've seen thus far.
Having said that, WWE are clearly protecting Sasha, and obviously have "plans" for her. They just don't appear to know what those plans are yet.
Re: Sasha Banks Says She Doesn't Want to Leave NXT, Bayley Calls Her The Best in The World
I have to laugh at the state of the Divas division on the main roster.
There are no real story lines presently. Nikki is getting a rematch but there is basically no story between her and Charlotte. Paige got mad and said some mean things about Charlotte and Becky but they still tag together? Uh, ok? Nattie got mad about Paige saying mean things.
That's it. That's what we have.
The division is so dead, these chicks are breaking kayfabe dropping "You're fucking Cena" references to desperately get a reaction and every time it goes over like a wet fart.
Sasha's breakdown at the end of Takeover wasn't due to her excellent match, or because she is leaving, it was thanks to her essentially being sent back down to developmental with the quality of her opponents. Even though she's technically being promoted. She realized her success is a cruel joke, and was inconsolable.
Most seniors in my class were happy as fuck to leave, but in the weird world of WWE things don't get better as you spread your wings and move on to the bigger world stage. Leaving high school for college meant more freedom, more opportunities, and really finding yourself and becoming something special. But somehow Monday Night Raw feels smaller, less free and less opportunity filled than what started as WWE's developmental
It's like actually going from college to high school
I think that NXT it's more like college, while the main roster is like having your first job. (of course, a jop where you get to work for a big company that exploits you, while you're underpaid, and you don't have any freedom) :aj3
PS: I wish that Owens, Becky, Neville... went back to NXT and then it could become a full touring brand. Also, some guys like Ziggler, Barrett or Cody could benefit for having character progression, storylines and shake up their careers...
Re: Sasha Banks Says She Doesn't Want to Leave NXT, Bayley Calls Her The Best in The World
Sasha and Becky should both be put back onto NXT for the time being. Neither of them are doing much on the main roster, and it makes more sense to allow Charlotte to find herself and get over on that level. Once she is actually a bigger deal - and hopefully using some other gimmick NOT related to her father - then you can bring back Sasha or Becky, and repeat the same process over again.
But yeah, I'm going to miss Sasha on NXT. And I can't wait for when she meets up against Bayley in the future.
Someday down the road... we'll see Sasha/Bayley III. It will be glorious
Re: Sasha Banks Says She Doesn't Want to Leave NXT, Bayley Calls Her The Best in The World
Yeah I was impressed by Asuka. I've seen some of her work in japan, but for me, a lot of NXT debuts are usually just "meh" and really mostly about fans seeing their favorites in WWE (especially Kenta, Apollo, and Balor), this shyt was actually fun and entertaining while displaying athletic ability.
Sasha vs. Asuak would be fun, but a the same time, if u signed to the E, you knew what to expect. time for her to adapt or perish. The more things change the more they stay the same. She seems to be the only NXt girl that thinks that there will be a women's ladder match on the main stage anytime soon. Maybe in 5 years, but definitely not now.
Re: Sasha Banks Says She Doesn't Want to Leave NXT, Bayley Calls Her The Best in The World
The WWE female roster right now is much, much better than they're ever going to be shown. I agree with the feeling right now that the main roster is a complete and utter downgrade in terms of what these people are capable of and will be awarded opportunities to do.
If this isn't a huge slap in the face of Vince and Dunn and everyone else involved in booking the main roster than I don't know what is - and if this only creates more vindictiveness (which it could) then Vince clearly has no desire left to make money and would rather just play around in his flighty little sandbox peeing his diapers and shitting on some amazing talent.
Sadly, there's no one left in the WWE that can go up to Vince and tell him that's he's fucking everything up.
Re: Sasha Banks Says She Doesn't Want to Leave NXT, Bayley Calls Her The Best in The World
It does make me sad that Sasha has to go back to the main roster where in comparison, NXT is more of the highlight of women's wrestling than the "Divas Revolution" since it first started.
Can't argue with Sasha, being pushed up to the main roster must feel like a demotion.
Re: Sasha Banks Says She Doesn't Want to Leave NXT, Bayley Calls Her The Best in The World
Those quotes are from a video WWE posted the other day (The video is now private, here's the URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcLcVdSdrsQ). The title is definitely misleading, she wasn't speaking AT ALL like she didn't want to move to WWE, she was just very emotional about how much she has done and how much fun she has had in NXT.
If I find the video re-uploaded somewhere I'll post it.

There's nothing misleading about the title. She literally says the words "I DON'T WANT TO GO." There was never any implication that she was saying she doesn't want to be on the main roster. And I know where the quotes are from. It's clearly stated in the link that you obviously didn't click. There was no reason to post the video because it's now private.
Re: Sasha Banks Says She Doesn't Want to Leave NXT, Bayley Calls Her The Best in The World
I think 15 years from now the Womens division will be treated with a little more respect on the Main Roster. The next 5 years will be important for that journey.
Its a sad day when superstars want to stay on the so called "b" show. It just goes to show how bad RAW is...
You will never hear a baseball player say I want to stay in the minors, screw going to the big show.
