Did anyone find the celebrations after Sasha/bayley patronising?

Seriously

They had a real good match, but I haven't seen that much fanfare in a wrestling ring since Ric Flair retired, seriously all that was lacking was undertaker breaking kayfabe and bowing to bayley.

HHH and Stephanie sticking their oar in, giving bunches of flowers.... what was that?

IMO should have just let it be the girls, let them have their moment, and maybe the other women wrestlers at most.

It was the first time two women main evented a live special/PPV. It was the first ever Ironman match to include women. It was Sasha's NXT sendoff.

We keep seeing emotional moments after these matches because these women are continually breaking new ground as female competitors in the WWE. This will stop when it is commonplace. I don't get why people are always up in arms about these things. It's emotional and groundbreaking for a reason.

If two men had the exact same series of matches Sasha and Bayley have had, it would be no big deal.
Of course not. Because men routinely have long matches, they routinely main event, and they've had 9 Ironman matches in the WWE before. It's not rocket science.

It's because they are women that it is a big deal. And they're damn good.

This thread just perpetuates the stereotype that we are all miserable bastards. It was a feel good moment after something truly ground breaking. They just proved women wrestling can be more than a piss break

Stephanie can fuck right off because she's done NOTHING to legitimately push women's wrestling in a good direction. She can play the part all she wants and pretend she deserves any credit, but guys like HHH, Regal and Dusty are the real people behind the success of NXT's women.

The celebrations weren't patronizing. They were legit and probably the most 'real' moment we've seen on WWE television in a VERY long time. Loved it.

Steph even took a pic with Sasha and Bayley and plastered it all over social media thanking them for showing what women's wrestling is all about. https://twitter.com/StephMcMahon/status/651957740395479040 What exactly has she done for them? Lita allows her to though as she was sitting right there at ringside. Too bad there Isn't anyone around anymore who could call her out on her BS :aj3

So maybe NOW she'll stop promoting Rousey and Serena Williams over her own talent, but probably not.

It was fucking embarrassing. Act like you've been there before, and have respect for women who actually DID pioneer things in wrestling and pave the way for you. The amount of propaganda HHH is trying to shove down people's throats is ridiculous. If I watched the end of that match, I certainly wouldn't see two wrestlers. I'd see two girls, while wondering why the hell there's a celebration like we just landed on the moon.

Every NXT women's match comes across as nothing more than HHH's agenda and propaganda at this point. And fuck the idiots in attendance for thinking they're different. "YEAH I'M GONNA CHEER WOMEN'S WRESTLING FUCK YOU VINCE!" *Is attending a WWE produced show, while chanting what HHH tells you to chant* You're all so hardcore and rebellious, guys :lol

I don't like it, but it was historical. Literally. I can't stand when Sasha and Bayley break kayfabe it takes away from the story they are telling, but the internet ruins all that anyway. Hats off to them. Why can't they do this on the main roster again?
Triple H knows NXT's audience. He knows we know the business and we like seeing true emotions. It might take a little away from the storytelling, but I guess this was their final bow anyways. I really loved this sendoff and I will truly miss Sasha in NXT. It was a beautiful way to take a quick break from the story and thank them for all their hard work and dedication for the business and for women's wrestling.

I found the reaction of Bayley and Sasha genuine. Considering the significant mark that these two have left in NXT and the landmark of not only headlining a WWE special event but headlining it as a (tremendously enjoyable) IronWOman match is something deserving much praise.

Therefore I did not and do not find it patronizing at all. At the very worst it's an organization representing on screen a reflection of how the majority of NXT fans feel...which is BY FAR the least insulting to both the performers and the fans in comparison to what RAW & SmackDown has been recklessly executing for a considerable amount of time now. People have invested in these two because they're doing something right.

WWE should give both of them flowers every day as far as I see it. It's about fucking time.

I understand the arguments in favor of it, but to me it can risk becoming overkill because you're over-embellishing something rather than let it be implied and grow naturally. it's like those parents that pamper their kids all their lives until those kids grow up to be complacent with a huge sense of entitlement. yes they broke new ground for women, but so did Ronda Rousey and the UFC certainly didn't feel the need to give her the macy's day parade in the octagon

it was rightfully an emotional moment for both girls and something they can be proud of, but imo the whole shebang afterwards was a little too much fluff for what it was. i'd expect that for the retirement of a legend, but not this

Oh ffs this stuff.

Look, in AN IDEAL WORLD, where sexism doesn't exist and women are treated equal to men then sure, it's not needed.

But this is the first ever womens' iron man match and main event. It IS important.

All those going, "Well men wouldn't be treated this way..." are so spectacularly missing the point that it's actually kinda funny. Y'all need to look at it from a woman's point of view.

I would have liked some wrestling brought into it. I don't give a crap to watch Sasha stand their and weep for her consolation prize. She lost and shouldn't have accepted their forced gifts and adulation. Tell them to stick it and walk to the back through everybody or something.

I've watched plenty of women's tennis major celebrations where they force the loser to stand there and accept their defeat while the victor accepts their trophy. They don't want to be there and you can see it on their faces.

I hated the celebration after their Brooklyn match too. It's all tooooooo much. Now if it was the last time then I'm cool with it because it was a unique, groundbreaking scene but it's time to stop it and never forget you're producing a wrestling show.

Instead of letting this thing develop organically they are shoving it down our throats. I am not taking away the hard work put in by some of the female wrestlers but I feel a lot of the real wrestling fans would develop a perception that pro wrestling is dead once they see Women getting into main events over Men. Majority of the people wouldn't pay money to see how well Women perform in the ring. Wrestling is a man's sport sure the women's division can be booked strongly but giving them too much time and long ass rasslin matches, will kill the business. Use a talented few for 10 minute matches, use the attractive ones as valets, and the rest as enhancement talents. Spend more time on making your male roster look good instead of trying to desperately capitalize and Ronda's popularity and shove some lame ass "feminazi revolution" down our throats.

I find the continued use of Izzy a little bit annoying, but the end of the match? No that was a great way to end the PPV.

2 women who have just made WWE history? Yeah go ahead and make it a big deal. You saw the emotion that Sasha had when she got handed the flowers. Fair play to her.

One thing I thought was genuine though was Sasha saying she didn't want to leave. I can understand that.

I thought the ending was lame. The NXT women cry and hug it out too much. They could have did all that backstage. I get that NXT is targeted towards hardcore fans, but I don't need kayfabe to be broken after every PPV. Bayley crying after finally reaching the title made sense. But this one was a little much.

The flowers was bizzare as well i'm sure the idea come from a place of respect, but after having a kickass match giving them flowers just highlighted "these are women, give them flowers".
