There's no one to cheer for in WWE.

Daniel Bryan - 2013-2014 was awesome. EVERYONE was into him. It was addicting. It was Austin/Rock levels of overness.

Even if you're not a fan of Bryan - it's more fun to see the crowd go absolutely crazy for someone then sit on their hands. So it's fun. He almost made a comeback in 2015, but WWE didn't push him and he got injured.

Brock Lesnar. WM31. Majority hated on Reigns, so by default cheered Lesnar. And Lesnar delivered. Great WM31 match. *GREAT* follow up on Raw, where he destroyed everyone and everything.

But then he left. Didn't come back for months.

Now? Nothing.
Last year after Bryan got injured and relinquished the title? Nothing (until months later towards mania time with Lesnar).

Reigns, Ambrose, Ziggler, Rollins, Cena...those guys don't count. They're not over enough. WWE needs someone over on that level to get people excited about the product.

Back in the day, I would watch WWE just to see Rock and Austin - yet i stuck around for the rest too, and eventually got into Edge and others because of it. WWE needs that 1 main guy, whose super over. It will help get the rest of the product over too. Remember how Ziggler was super popular a while back? I think all the Bryan love rubbed off on him. Cesaro too. But then it went away when Bryan left.

And this isn't necessarily meant as a knock on the wrestlers i named, like Ambrose, Reigns, Ziggler, etc. I think WWE "could" create a mega star - but the problem is they have no idea how to book it.

I follow Raw results every week, and i might watch a ppv here and there (missed a few lately though) - but i simply don't watch Live TV anymore. I did when Bryan was there. I did when Lesnar was super hot at mania too. And I'll watch again when a certain wrestler builds enough momentum to match that - whether it's Bryan again, or someone else.

Does The Rock come back for mania? I'd watch Rock on RAW. He's super fun, and super over.

Will Stone Cold wrestle another match? Highly doubtful, but if he did, i would defintely watch the build up too.

Will Bryan return, and be pushed to the main event, and be able to re-capture the fan support? I'd definitely get into it again if so.

Will Brock Lesnar become unpredictable again, and tear all kinds of shit up? Sign me up, i'll watch.

Will one of Reigns, Ambrose, Cena...will one of them get proper booking, proper character development to become over (doesn't have to be a face, a heel could work) in a way that makes the product fun? If so, i'll watch again too.

Until then though, no thanks.

Ziggler was massively over in late 2014, and it had nothing to do with Daniel Bryan.

And Cena gets awesome reactions. But I do agree with a lot of what you are saying. Ambrose has always been very over, and he gets even more over when he's pushed, but then he's tossed aside shortly afterwards. Just like everything else, it all comes down to booking.

They can do it with Ambrose. Imo. Dude gets some incredible pops sometimes on raw and smack down. If he's booked better with a shotgun to the top storyline he can do it. He has the tools. Maybe have a better finisher but if not DD is okay. The lunatic fringe can softly go imo- the whole Brian Pillman 2.0 thing doesn't need to happen. He can just be a maniac badass who's slightly "off"- we don't need to hear about it all the time either.

Another one - left field- Titus O'Neal- mad charisma, powerful, good on the mic, crowd is with him, he has a great taunt. He could easily become very very over.

If A miracle happens Bryan is who the truly need. Most mainstream/over guy that's likeable all around and more organically over in a while.

yep you true, basically no one really to cheer for unless you accept like wwe wants you to (or reigns)
that'S why people started to cheer lesnar even he is a heel. that'S why wwe made him fight taker. to groove down the massive love for lesnar. in midsummer each crowd was like suplex city, suplex city, they did not care about heel. lesnar was the man

cesaro, those who cheered him this summer really were crazy about him. the cesaro section. - could easily gone to the next level. even cena was liked by the whole crowd if he was in action or together with him.
but i said before - wwe educates you not to invest in him. if the crowd invests in cesaro they get punished for it in manifestation of a big show squash match in 2015.

Ambrose and Cesaro especially had everything for being massively over.

Ambrose for the run on world title and Cesaro for the run on the 2nd level belts like Intercontinental and USA but they were totally wasted. (But i still keep an hope on Ambrose)

I have serious fear for Sami Zayn, cause that guy has almost everything for being at least in the top 2-3 of babyfaces of WWE for a decade, from theme song to fighting style to relationship with crowd.

I just hope they won't waste him.

Talents (faces) who have gotten massively over the past two years; Bryan, Ambrose, Cesaro, Sandow, Ryback, Ziggler, and Swagger.

Where these talents are now: Bryan (injured), Ambrose (upper card hell, relevant enough to be on tv every week, not relevant enough to do anything), Sandow (rip), Ryback (not nearly as over, due to irrelevant IC title Reign), Cesaro (similar to Ambrose, except midcard hell), Ziggler (shitty romance angle, deterioration in performance, not as over), and Swagger (who? is he employed anymore?).

It's no wonder there's no one to cheer for. WWE made sure of it.

I shudder to think that there are others who think like this. According to the IWC (yes, I know, I'm apart of it and bla bla bla), casuals make up the majority of the audience so your argument falls flat.

Booking isn't allowing anyone to build momentum to the point where most of the crowd is cheering for that one person.

Both Dolph Ziggler and Dean Ambrose had momentum at times where it looked like they could be those guys to cheer for. Ziggler after Survivor Series could have been the conquerer of the Authority but I can't even remember what they actually did with him then and he was cooled considerably. Ambrose was white hot in his angle with Rollins (even if it was a little cheesy at times) and he got stuck in the Bray Wyatt feud where he kept losing in weird ways.

The only person who is built to be cheered for is John Cena. They tried with Roman Reigns and the crowd rejected it. It's like creative then said we have to go back to Cena instead of giving anyone else a chance.
