Why are WWE being dicks about Bryan's return?

So it's now October and we're coming up to 6 months since Daniel Bryan received that concussion. We've heard time and time again that Bryan has visited the doctor who clears guys for the superbowl and he said that Bryan is good to go.

And yet WWE's doctors still won't clear him.

Now, no-ones been out for a concussion for 6 months. I think the longest someone was out was 2, maybe 3 months maximum.

-So, superbowl doctor says he's good to go (and i'd trust that doctor more than a WWE doctor)

-John Cena soon to be leaving for a few months so you're left severly lacking for star power until new year.

-Ratings are at an all-time low and you need big acts to try and bring in viewers

and yet they still won't bring Bryan back. I hate to be 'that' guy that claims WWE are holding back a guy for other reasons but there surely has to be more than the concussion issue for WWE to hold back Bryan for 6 MONTHS! when they've got doctors telling him he's good to go.

Why are they being such dicks?

Can you really blame them?

They've invested in him twice with big pushes and both times he couldn't fulfill his duties. On top of that he couldn't even lose the title in a quick match. WWE had to quickly change plans. It's also possible they don't want him to come back because his return could force them to change plans once again. Two years in row they had to change their WM plans because of him.

Oh i'm not even asking them to give him a push or titles. I just think he should at least be on tv. If he's still healthy around Mania time then give him a shot at an IC title or US title or WWE title in the summer next year.

Just when you've got a guy being told he's healthy by a doctor who works for the hugest sporting organization in the world, the NFL. It's ridiculous to think the WWE wouldn't listen to it.

WWE's plans are changed so many times in a month that I highly doubt it would be a problem for WWE to include him in mania plans. WWE having had to change plans the last two years because of Bryan is less down to Bryan himself and more WWE having shitty plans in the first place.

I don't blame them entirely. Bryan doesn't sound like he wants to take care of himself ... His work post return from injury last year was even more careless and irresponsible towards himself and more than definitely the reason why he ended up on the IL again. It gets worse when you realize that the guy came back with a neck injury to partake in a ladder match (which the WWE is partially to blame for as well) AND introduced head butts into his matches --- something he did not do during his entire 2013 run at all - where he still picked up a concussion.

Sounds to me like they're doing him a favour by keeping him out of the ring. Until and unless he agrees to work smart and protect himself more, he really shouldn't be allowed in the ring.

I'm dying to watch Bryan wrestle, but not to watch him die in the process. He's not being smart about this and until he is, the WWE are doing him a favour imo.

You can blame WWE for a lot of things - but i think this post is delusional. They are not not using Daniel Bryan out of "spite" or to be "dicks".

They don't think Bryan is healthy enough. That's it.

Are they right? Are they being too fearful/cautious? I dunno honestly, maybe yes, maybe no. But they certainly aren't doing it out of any malicious intent.

Bryan is delusional when it comes to his own health. Brie gave an interview in July stating Bryan was still having issues and it was tough because the doctors couldn't give him a timeline and nobody knew when or even if he would ever wrestle again.

3 or 4 days later Bryan did an interview saying he was cleared to wrestle and ready to go anytime.

His concussion issue is at career ending levels and WWE is already having major issues with concussion lawsuits and public perception. I don't expect to see him back at this point.

He got injuried twice the exact same way 2 years in a row and also suffered a concussion. So you can see why WWE is hesitant to bring him back.

But the conspiracy theorists think WWE is not bringing Bryan back because they want to kill his momentum so he is not as over as he was.

Exactly. The same medical staff that couldn't diagnose a staph infection are experts on concussions. They probably are scared with all the lawsuits that sports get hit with, but I feel like they don't want him on tv.

I mean they really have nothing for a man most people love so much? Guest gm for a while? Backstage role? Nothing?

They haven't cleared him yet because it'd be a nightmare if he came back earlier than he should've and BOOM, another concussion.

I'm all for Bryan coming back as soon as possible, but only if he's legit 100%. Hopefully, this extended time on the shelf also helped him recover from other injuries such as his neck and shoulder.

You can't blame them for being careful. They push him, he gets a neck injury. He comes back and they give him a midcard push, he gets a concussion. When it happens twice, they would be foolish to just bring him back again without having a whole army of doctors clear him.

And plus the fact that Vince apparently doesn't like him very much.

If he was cleared than WWE would use him. No matter how the Daniel Bryan marks try to spin it, the WWE would use Daniel Bryan on their shows if they could. He is an investment for WWE. The Daniel Bryan being the face of the company is over, but if he does come back, just be happy when he's around.

If Bryan came back and injured himself right away, all we would hear is the WWE are idiots for allowing him back when he wasn't at 100%.

They are being safe and waiting for a good moment to bring him back. Doctors may say he is 100% but they should give him as much time off as possible to ensure he comes back in great shape so he won't get injured immediately. He got injured twice in a row back to back because he returned too soon. It would be devastating to WWE and the fans if that were to happen a 3rd time. Daniel Bryan gets injured again and his career will be over. If it takes him a year to come back and be safe I will wait because I would hate to seem him in early retirement. I really miss the guy but he should come back when the moment is right.
