Whats wrong with Owens except the "HE'S FAT" thing ?

I see a lot people saying they dont want him anywhere near the top or in the ring with legends. I honestly think he is the best wrestler WWE had in a long time. Like really. In my opinion he excels in everything. He cuts constantly great promos he is amazing in-ring and his "emotions" he shows during matches and his playing with the crowd are just superb. I think he could be, no joke, the next top guy in the WWE. By top i mean the top of the top. He has everything. Even his look helps him (if you arent triggred by his "fat"). He just has "it" in my opinion.

So what you dont like about him except the look ?

He has no real weaknesses. The fat thing is just an attack by people who are grasping at straws. That "fat" guy has better cardio than most of the roster.
This, exactly.

There's nothing wrong with Owens. He's pretty agile for a "fat" guy and has great mic skills. WWE Officials and anti-indy geeks here criticize the fat thing only because they're grasping at straws. I like his look because it's different. Also I find ridiculous the "he caters to the smark/neckbeards because he looks like them" argument :ti as if all of us look all the same :ti

How is it grasping at straws? Disliking the way a wrestler looks is just as valid a complaint as disliking their ring work or mic work. Bastion Booger was disgusting as fuck, and I don't think saying so would be me grasping at straws. At least in his case his disgusting belly fit his gimmick.

Imagine Zach Gowen playing Big Poppa Pump.
Imagine Dolph Ziggler playing The Undertaker.
Imagine Hornswoggle playing The Big Show.

Those are all ridiculous scenarios because the looks don't fit the gimmicks. Kevin Owens is a dude who is supposed to be Brock Lesnar lite, but he looks like an average dude you'd see in a bar.

I've actually lightened up on Owens now that he's not getting a monster push, but unless he drops weight and hits the gym, he'll be back on my shit list as soon as he goes above the midcard.

Boyish face that doesn't fit the badass role
This is my main issue with him. I don't mind the physique - it makes a nice change from bodybuilders and some of the toughest guys I've met have been built like him. Besides, not being a muscle-guy didn't stop the likes of Samoa Joe or Mad Dog Vachon from being scary heels or hard men.

But his face..... He just looks like he should be working in a comic shop eating Cheetos. I just don't buy him as a tough guy.

I'd be interested to know if he was ever a face when at ROH?

He's awesome, and literally the only reason I'm even watching RAW at the moment. I was worried about WWE holding him back because of his 'look', but the more I watch him, the more I begin to relax. He's simply too good to be held back. As long as he's on TV, he's going to shine. And no, I'm not an indy geek, literally watched less than five indy shows in my entire life unless we're including NXT. Never saw KO before he went there and he's completely won me over since then. I've found my seat firmly on that bandwagon.

Well he lacks the look appropriate for the character he's playing for starters. He is like 5' 8 with a disgusting gut hanging out during matches, his attire is awful, its almost like it was designed specifically to expose his fat belly.

Personally, I think he caters too much towards the indy/smark audience. Right now he is very average on the mic, needs to improve more. Not greatly charismatic but he's new, we can wait for him to peak.

Overrated ? All I see here are bitches complaining about his body fat percentage. The guy has clearly been held back as far as his promos go. He has a really cool look and has good ring psychology. Judging by how they are using most of their talents, its pretty obvious why he isn't able to fully show his potential.

I don't get half of this thread.

1. Kevin Owens looks like the second most legit guy on the entire roster, behind Brock Lesnar. If it was some form of Brawl for All, and Brock wasn't involved, I'd pick Owens to win. He looks like a guy who comes to fight. He looks like a guy who doesn't care about anything other than being in the action. His mic work has been okay in the WWE but he's a guy like CM Punk who isn't a natural entertainer but needs a bit of a long leash to really shine.

2. Seth Rollins is fairly good on the mic and great in the ring. I never saw his ROH work for the record so don't take these posts as just being an indie mark. Rollins isn't exactly the best we've seen of either but he's good at both so he's a good guy for the world title.

He is really out of shape. Like really out of shape. And not in a "he is a big dude" kind of way. But in a "he is just very overweight" kind of way.

I like him alot but there is no excuse to be that out of shape surely. I don't understand how its possible.

As for his matches. They are too spot heavy. Too much of "do move, go for pin, kick out at two". Which makes his matches very indyish and boring.

Why are people so defensive about the fact that Kevin Owens is fat ? Yes he is fat and that is going to hurt him on the long run. Maybe you don't care but the fans are going to make fun of him ( just like some people did here for Matt Hardy or are doing now with Bo Dallas when they aren't fat at all ) and then, the WWE wants wrestlers that can attract a mainstream audience and non-wrestling fan. I doubt that someone who doesn't follow the WWE is gonna see Kevin Owens and think " Wow, he looks great ". No, he is going to compare him to guys like Stone Cold or The Rock and turn the channel off. This isn't the indies, this is a mainstream product and to be fair, Owens is lucky that the WWE takes him seriously and don't treat him as a joke like many mainstream product does with fat people

And about him, well, I think he is a good wrestler. On the mic, he is different since he speaks and doesn't scream like others do so that's good and and he clearly is not bad on the ring but I think he will really be impressive in gimmick matches but you know, the look is part of the Total Package

He does look a little like a guy who's just completed his wrestling training and his getting his first bookings on the indie scene, so I can see why some people can't enjoy him. That all being said, I like the dude and although he seems like a dick head, I'm glad he's been afforded this chance on the big state.
