I can see happening, if not next year then maybe the year after, Summerslam being in a outdoor stadium like WM has been the last decade. Think about it, it makes sense. Its Summer after all, no need to stress too much about rain and it would be nice weather for the crowd i can imagine. I guess the only down fall would be daylight savings and it not getting dark till late. I can see this happening, especially after WWE pushing this years SS to a 4 hour show. IMO its gonna be just like Mania (as big) in a couple of years, if it already isnt. What do you guys think?
nah, i'm alright with how they did it this year. open stadiums usually suck for sound quality plus the grandeur makes it unique to Wrestlemania as the biggest show of the year (which it SHOULD stand out as being). if other shows look and feel identical then it loses prestige
what wouldn't be a bad idea is changing the Summerslam stage design to something more unique to the PPV like they did in the past. it's the same one they use for RAW right now and it feels like a step backwards tbh
Hopefully they will bring it back to the UK again, either at Cardiff or Wembley. I think in all likelihood it will be similar to this year, maybe go to cities like Chicago where it may be too cold to have an open air Wrestlemania, although they did that in New York a couple of years ago.
Summerslam '92 had a similar look as this years Wrestlemania. It would be so cool if they went back to Wembley again for a big PPV. They don't really need to worry about the time zones now that they've moved to the network as well.
As far as trying to keep up with this "Wrestlemania of the Summer" shtick, they will get tired of trying to keep up with that and will go back to 3 hours and just not caring anymore. It's not as if this Summerslam was historic in any way, except being 4 hours. Not sure why Vince thinks being an hour longer makes it better. It never helped Raw, never really made Mania better and certainly didn't make SS better this year. But that's Vince for you.
I like when it's held outside, it gives the show a different look. That was one of my favorite things about Wrestlemania 31, most of the matches were held in broad daylight. I would like to see more of that. I don't see them doing stadiums for Summerslam, I see them keeping everything the same like they have been doing for years.
I don't think it matters how long it is, but it would be cool to see the 4 "pillar PPVs" treated as big events.....something to break up the monotony that is the rest of the PPVs during the year.
