they're really giving a lot to seth, and i can't see why, does anyone think they are treating him like they should of treated cm punk? due to them not giving cm punk opportunities and he quit and he could of made wwe history so they're trying to do it with seth? :nerd:

Punk beat Cena clean several times something Rollins hasnt done. Punk had matches with megastars like rock and taker. Something Rollins hasnt. Rollins gets to take a backseat and not mainevent big shows even tho he,s the champ just like Punk.

Theyre not treating Rollins that much better but I hope they do.

They should've treated Punk a hell of a lot better than they're treating Rollins now, but either way, Rollins doesn't have half the impact Punk did.

Punk has never beaten Cena clean ONCE. I think you need to brush up on what clean means. Even still, if Kevin Owens can beat Cena clean, beating Cena clean must not mean a whole lot.

Rollins has main evented every PPV that didn't have Brock on it against somebody else. Rollins is a double champion and Rollins main evented WrestleMania. He's treated like royalty, whereas Punk succeeded DESPITE WWE, not BECAUSE of them, like Rollins.

Nah.

How's that mate? To me, having 5 World Championship reigns, being a Triple Crown Champion, winning MITB twice, and having marquee matches against the likes of 'Taker, Brock, Rock and Triple H (results aside), doesn't seem like bad treatment. Unless of course you're just referring to the whole ignoring of the Staph Infection and that...

For all of Punk's horseshit and general jackass-ness, the truth is he did pave the way for these guys. This new generation of high-workrate indy guys that are now starting to dominate airtime wouldn't have been in this position if not for Punk's bitching about it and eventually quitting. It did serve as a wake up call, IMO. Or al least made WWE pay more attention to that segment of fans.
The powers that be weren't ready to do this with Punk at the time.

Seth has been given more consistent importance and mic time on the show even before he was champ. He's been unquestionably the face of Raw, all while heel. I'm happy the WWE has put in effort with someone new. Seth can leave the main event scene for a bit and still be looked at as a main event star and inserted back whenever. More guys need this focus

he was champion for 434 days

he made Ryback tap out in a 2 on 1 with Paul Heyman

he beat all three members of the SHIELD in a 3 on 1

Brock Lesnar aka the strongest booked wrestler in the past 15 years needed help to beat him

and you're telling me he didnt have numerous opportunities?! i loved Punk but Jesus H Christ you people are fucking stupid!

As much as I love Rollins, and realize his faults, Punk as a whole in his prime is still above Rollins. Rollins is one of the best currently in terms of in ring talent, but so way Punk albeit in a different manner. Rollins knows a billion moves and can perform the majority of them flawlessly, and he is a fantastic worker to boot. Punk was more scrappy in his style, still pulling off a large repertoire of moves, but the difference was that Punk's in ring storytelling and psychology was MUCH better than Rollins.

I need not say anything about character, charisma, and mic ability, because while Rollins to me is above average to good in those fields (and bad on occasion), Punk excelled in all of these.

But the one huge difference that separates them is what happens backstage and away from camera. Punk was one of the few guys to speak his mind right to Vince and HHH on whether he thought something was stupid or if a feud should be booked differently etc, he wasn't afraid of them. It's one of thing qualities I loved about the guy, even if at time he comes across as a whiny bitch.

That aside, I can't say he wasn't given opportunities, because he was. In a way he was given all the opportunities in the world, but all of them had an asterisk attached to them. Like "You will be WWE Champion" however... "John Cena will still main event over you." It's sort of a catch 22 in a way, because Punk was getting the big name status and treatment as a main event guy, but he was always booked rather strange for somebody in the main event, especially the champion of all people. And let alone continually losing to big name stars, especially a completely illogical loss to HHH during his HOTTEST run, it was like he was given faux main event booking.

Rollins is getting full attention every show and like someone mentioned previously, is main eventing PPVs (exception when Brock has a match, but he's Brock fucking Lesnar), holds two titles right now, and is a centerpiece of the show and is treated like one.

Should Punk have gotten this treatment?

Fuck yes. Imagine how big he would have been if booked right? And he still got over to an incredible level despite shoddy booking.

Not at all. Rollins isn't winning clean. He's stumbling his way thru every ppv. He's not being treated like a top dog. The only argument is Main Events and that really has to do with Cena coming down a bit kayfaybe wise.

With Punk Cena was in the midst of his feud with the Rock so they had to keep him up and treat him over the belt.

Now he's walking around with the US Championship. He's already dropped the belt clean to Bryan, got annihilated by Lesnar, and lost clean to a debuting wrestler. All that stuff is inconceivable in 2011. John Cena has peaked.

Why everything has to be about CM Punk? He's gone he's not coming back let it go!

He had if not one of the best career a WWE superstar could ever dream off he won almost every title except the US title, was money in the bank winner twice in a row. Had a match with Lesnar and The Rock and awesome feud with the Undertaker. Was multiple time WWE champion what else do you want WWE to give CM Punk? Damn.

Why are we still pretending CM Punk got Dean Douglas type treatment?

5 world title reigns.

A 434 day reigns, with multiple segments a night.

Big angles with part time stars.

The only difference is Rollins has main evented a few more PPVs. (Cashing in the last 4 minutes of Mania i'm not counting)

And Punk had runs as a strong face wrestler

Both were or are treated as big deala and its easy to see. Some of their fans are just to busy whining about what they don't/didn't get versus what they did get.

I believe CM Punk in his personal life, is too much a douchebag like John Cena.

Personally, I am a top 50 hater of CM Punk in the world. However, I am a top 10 John Cena hater. So, I personally believe WWE would have been better off making Cm Punk face of the company and getting rid of Cena.

I do see why someone would ask this question. But I really think Punk Screwed Punk.

The money in Rollins is as a babyface. His heel title reign has been forgetful and it took breaking Cena nose to finally get people's attention. He's still got a ways to go before he's on Punk's level. But he continues to improve and that's a good thing.

TPTB were never truly behind Punk. If they were they would have turned Cena heel during the Summer of Punk in what could have been a feud for the ages. Instead they rather play it safe which is what damn near drove them into bankruptcy. If there was another wrestling promotion(like LU) with big money backing this would be 1995 all over again.

The current WWE doesn't deserve a great performer like Punk TBH.

Maybe they treat Rollins like they wished they had treated Punk: you have the title but you're a bitch, basically.

Punk would have never accepted that cause he has a brain.

i guess you completely forgot punks first title reign in 2008 then where he was never even beat in a match in order to lose it..just beaten up backstage

or you forgot his heel run as wwe champion (summer 2012 until rumble) where he ran away from ryback the whole hiac match until ref brad maddox helped him win, where ryback beat him clean in seconds on raw in a tag match, where ryback and cena beat the living shit out of him at survivor series only for shield to debut, where ryback beat the shit out of him again on raw only for shield to help him and then rock beat him clean

easy to forget i suppose..
