My pick would be Rollins. I do not see the hype at all. Average looks, average mic skills, no charisma, decent ring skills. Is this guy really considered a star? He's not terrible but very...average. Even Cena, who I hate, has more presence and star quality than Rollins. I'm not surprised that his title reign isn't a success.
Definitely Seth. Sure he's great in the ring, but Cesaro is better he can do everything Seth can and more. And Seths skill set ends there, he's not a terrible mic worker anymore but hes just average, yet so many of his fans pretend he's an all time great mic worker. He's got no natural charisma, no presence, nothing about him to make him a star. He's a hard worker, and he's just HHH's version of John Cena basically.
Seth Rollins and it's not even close. This guy gets EVERYTHING. He gets to be Triple H's on screen pet project, wins MITB, is the first to cash in at Wrestlemania and win, gets to wrestle Brock Lesnar, gets to wrestle Sting, gets more mic time than everyone and holds two championships and after all of that, he's one of the most boring people on Earth unless he's wrestling. Jesus H. Christ, don't even get me started on his mic work. It's decent, it's serviceable and sometimes, he'll say something that captures my attention but bad script or not, he just cannot talk for more than 10 minutes without putting me to sleep. Someone needs to jump the barricade and slap the mic out of his hand after he passes the 5 minute mark.
:agree: Seth is the golden child and everyone else the red headed step child. He is a spoiled brat who gets handed everything for basically no reason. People say Orton was pushed to the moon but Randy had the looks, skills, and star quality to justify his push. Seth is a midcarder pushed to be a main eventer. It's the same as a supporting actor being pushed as a lead actor and his movies flop because no one can buy him as the lead.
In his defense, he did have a MOTY candidate with Lesnar and he's had some admirable performances throughout the year. I wouldn't say he's had MOTN every PPV or anything but he's not bad in the ring anymore.
Sheamus is in my opinion he's the only wrestler on the roster heel or face no matter he's boring as fuck and his matches put me to sleep. He and Kevin Owens are a lot alike to me good move sets boring as fuck.
Also smarks fawn over guys like Brian Pillman because "he's like the 90s Ambrose! I must be a fan of his even though he croaked before the millennium started!"
Basically the most overrated are often the most bandwagoned and vice-versa.
People claim Seth Rollins is some elite mic worker when he is average to bad depending on the day. He makes a 5 minute promo feel like a 20 minute promo and he is just plain boring. He might have a little shine on the mic once every few months due to a good script but the point still stands. His ring work is great but enough to grant him MITB, two championships, wrestlemania main event win, Brock Lesnar and Sting? No, he's not Cesaro...
And Paige is just outright awful in pretty much every category. People shit on Reigns for being pushed for his looks yet are quick to praise Paige as one of the best divas ever and for what? Her atrocious mic work or her bad and sloppy ring work? " but she's from a wrestling family and has been wrestling since she was a kid!! " she's been wrestling since she was a kid and this is the best she can do? Really makes you wonder what she's been doing all that time.
I need to see these posts where people are claiming that Rollins is an "all time great on the mic and/or consistently "elite." Please, somebody, anybody.
Anyone who is popular and people like is overrated by people upset that their favorites are irrelevant and lack charisma to get popular. We get this thread once a week with the same posters choosing the people they hate. Anyways being overrated is a good thing in this business because it means people like you and you are making money for the company.
How the hell is Sheamus overrated? Who the hell even rates Sheamus positively.
