The Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida issued the following statement regarding Monday's WWE Raw event.
"Amalie Arena and our partners at WWE are aware of Tropical Storm Erika's potential impact to our area in advance of WWE Raw on Monday, August 31. At this time, the event is not cancelled. However, we are keeping the storm top of mind. We will release any pertinent information as needed."
The weird thing about this storm is that no one is really telling us where it's going to make landfall ... and some are even saying that it's going to dissipate while others are claiming that it's going to strengthen .. The news reports are all over the place.
Plus, there's no significant heat on Roman Reigns so I doubt that the WWE will chicken out of another broadcast like last time :shrug
Heh, this time they'll probably send Dean out into the middle of the hurricane :lol He'll just be walking around like it's nothing, like he did with the snowstorm. (Which is quite funny cos in real life, Dean HATES cold weather and probably hated doing that... )
:hmm Maybe they can show matches from Summerslam like they did when they showed Rumble stuff back in February. I'd rather they show Cena/ Rollins and then Sasha/Bayley from NXT, with the proper video packages to familiarize the viewing audience with those stellar women.
I remember last time they got in the shit with the PPV providers for giving away the two biggest parts of the Rumble for free while it was still available to buy the replays.
Maybe they should show the NXT Takeover instead? I'd watch it a 5th time.
To be fair, the last HQ one was properly last minute. They could film Raw at full sail or something, there is plenty of time for a contigency plan whereas the last time there wasn't.
oh well, no biggy. I can live without the 40 minutes of RAW that I actually watch every week. the in-studio special that aired the night after RR was far more interesting anyway
If they do, they'll come up with something. Not like anything in WWE at the moment is worthwhile or amazing. They'll probably replay Summerslam or some shit and stream some stuff from Connecticut like they did for the other storm.
If they do another HQ show with Summerslam replays, I wonder if El Rey will re-air all 3 hours of Ultima Lucha. Last time WWE had weather problems, they tried to steal viewers away by re-airing Aztec Warfare, which oddly enough was airing opposite WWE's re-airing of the very similar Royal Rumble
