GOAT Tag Team: The Legion of Doom or The Dudley Boyz?

I think The Dudley Boyz have surpassed The Legion of Doom, they're by far the most accomplished tag team in wrestling history and although they might not be as popular as LOD but they had a hell of a career.

I think they are the GOAT tag team.

It's all objective. If we talk about accomplishments, it's Team 3D. They have won world titles in every major wrestling company, all across the world.

But........they were never main eventers. Not many tag teams actually were. But LoD was a main eventer tag team, and they actually became known even outside the pro wrestling world.

Close race, but LoD most likely takes it.

TNA and ECW are frankly small time with both really not having a long established history.

The Road Warriors at one time or another were champions of the NWA, WWE and AWA. All three promotions with established decades of tradition and history.

Lastly, kayfabe wise the Road Warriors fought better quality tag teams and kayfabe wise would have easily defeated the Dudley Boyz if booking is true to history.

Also, in terms of having great matches, The Dudley Boyz were just involved in more great matches:

-WrestleMania 2000 Triple-Threat tag team ladder
-Summerslam 2000 Triple-Threat Tag TLC
-WrestleMania 17 Triple-Threat Tag TLC
-2001 SD Four Way Tag TLC
-2002 RAW Four Way Tag TLC

Those 5 matches were definitely one of the best ever.

im going with Dudleys, i hated those guys as a teen... but now knowing why i hated them shows how good they really were... but i still have love for LOD...

of course, either Hawk or Animal would prolly have to eat 2 3D's to end the match, but im sure 2 blade jobbed Dudleys wouldnt care to deliver

fuck... now i got myself all excited to see this match :(

IMHO, since I've been around

1. Road Warriors
1. Steiners
3. Harlem Heat
4. Dudley Boys
5. Demolition
6. Hart Foundation

Different eras. But ultimately it will come down to who you mark for.

Dudley Boyz have more accomplishments, but The Road Warriors were THE tag team in the 80s leading into the 90s.

Just youtube all their matches, and their returns. Some of the biggest pops around.

Had Hawk not got caught up in the darkness who knows what more they could have accomplished,

Dudley Boyz are great n all, but LoD are GOAT when it comes to tag teams. No ifs, ands, or buts.

You really went and created a "Best Tag Team Ever?" Thread without including the Midnight Express? GTFO.

Midnight Express have better matches with the Dudley's and sold out damn near as many if not more arenas than LOD. Shit, Midnight Express were main eventing down in Mid-South against the Rock n Roll express before the Road Warriors ever came to AWA and started becoming the big time draws they would become. And Midnight Express were still main eventing against the Rock n Roll Express through the early 1990's, after Hawk and Animal had broken up.

Eaton = GOAT tag team wrestler (with Arn Anderson a close second)

Cornette = top 5 manager ever

Lane/Condrey = amazing in their own right and brought totally different things to the table.

Kids, go pop in Great American Bash 1990, watch the Midnight Express vs the Southern Boys, then come back and try to tell me with a straight face you've seen a tag match from either the Dudleys or LOD that is even in the same league as that tag.

You can't do it.

Not to mention their all time classics with the Fantastics and Rock n Roll Express.

So, I'm not saying you are wrong for thinking any other team is better than a Midnight were, but you are wrong for not even including them in the discussion for best team ever.

Tully and Arn deserve a mention as well while you are at it.

I like your passion for the Midnights, for me though along with the ROck N Roll Express, I just never really got the big deal with them. They just seemed a bit bush league and below par. THey just didn't excite me like the likes of the LOD, Hart Foundation, Rockers, even Arn n Tully.

Anyway for this thread it's herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhh WHAT A RUSH!
