First Black WWE Champ: Who Would You Pick?

A question I've seen on this forum a lot since I've been on here is: Who will be the first WWE Champion? Now you have a few people that will say The Rock was the first African American WWE Champion, but he really doesn't count in most people's eyes. With that being said who would you book to be the first African American WWE Champion?

Me personally I would have chosen Titus O'neil. The guy checks every box: he is 6'5 270lbs, he is charismatic as hell, he can talk, he is passable in the ring. Now I'd book him has a face character going against a heel champion, get the crowd behind him and all that then pull the ultimate double turn.

Who would you like(or liked if we're talking past tense)to see be the first Black WWE Champion

Uhaa Nation or Big E.

Personally speaking, I thought MVP should've been it 2008-2009.

I don't count The Rock at all since he has been always reffered more as samoan. A "black champion" gimmick has never been done in the WWE.
he was part of a militant black faction when it really was a militant black faction not the later versions that became a bit of a joke

and what is a "black champion" gimmick exactly. was mark henry a black champion gimmick when whc or was his gimmick that of a guy who just beat the shit out of people. i can't remember wwe ever having a "black champion" gimmick as us or ic champion either despite a number of black guys holding those belts

Do like Titus & Big E they are both big, powerhouse wrestlers but my pick would be Lashley in fact wish he would return to WWE just so he can go up against Lesnar.

Ummm it's the other way around. Most intelligent people say The Rock is the first African American WWE Champion while he doesn't really count in a few morons' eyes.
Um did you not read my second post. I clearly said that the WWE always Celebrates his Samoan heritage, they have brought it up numerous times but never brought up the fact that he was part black too. Aside from maybe mentioning his father. But you guys are coming at me like I'm at fault. All I'm saying is that if WWE doesn't acknowledge his African American heritage, why should people count him as the first African American Champion. Yeah he is mixed, but they never once say that, as far as I'm concerned they see him as Samoan

Because those of us who don't want to be mindless sheep that buys into everything this company says can clearly see and agree with the fact that The Rock is the first black WWE Champion. Whether they want to acknowledge it or not, it's the truth. There are a lot of facts they don't acknowledge. Doesn't mean they're not true.

Booker T should have been. Mark Henry should have been too. More specifically in 2013 after the faux retirement speech and he attacked John Cena. That was amazing. Great acting. Fake tears. I honestly believed it and was kind of sad. Incredibly underrated moment. It was awesome.
