Fred Durst revealed on Chicago radio that Limp Bizkit recently turned down WWE's offer to perform at next year's WrestleMania 32 event. He states that part of the reason had to do with WWE kicking him out of SummerSlam for flipping off the camera. Here's a quote from the band's frontman:
I got kicked out of one of their events last year I think it was, maybe the year before that, all for throwing up a f***ing birdie at the camera. I just find the whole corp aspect of it to be f***in pussiefied these days; it's obvious why they sank so low in popularity compared to the late 90's and early 00's. They wanted us to do WM32 next year but f*** that. We want to do NJPW. We'd love to head over to Japan. We're still wrestling fans. Not WWE fans."
And of course he got kicked out for flipping off the camera. A celebrity (and I use that term loosely) shouldn't be flipping off cameras at televised events. That is childish and makes him look like an ass.
No matter if you like Limp Bizkit or not, Fred is right and the fact that he won't play because of how he views WWE instead of taking the money shows me they have some standards.
What's funny is people want others to call out WWE's shit and when someone does, you all shit on his band and question his relevance as if that somehow has any impact on what he said. You people are insane. A guy has standards and won't play for WWE and you guys act like he personally insulted you while you insult the WWE on a daily fucking basis.
At this point Jesus, Albert Einstein and Julius Cesar could rise from the grave, turn down a performance at WM 32 and you retards would get butthurt and dis them too even though they're saying the same shit you all say every damn day here!
No Fred Durst is salty at getting kicked out from Summerslam which was the first thing he mentioned before stating how garbage the product is. He's holding a grudge over some petty shit which is the sole reason he won't play. Thankfully.
Thing is, WWE will give the band way more exposure than anything ... haven't heard of Limp Bizkit for years but thought they were pretty good back when.
Good on you, Fred. Wasn't expecting to have something good to say about Limp Bizkit in 2015 but more power to him for having standards. Wish Vince would have the standards to not be trying to book Limp Bizkit in 2015 but what's new there?
You have to understand, to him the late 90s was like 12 days ago.
All those saying on here that they are has beens maybe true but who the hell are all of you nerd virgins any better? lul and I am not that big of a fan of Limp Bizkit too... He put WWE in there place and some of you mad because you never were apart of the good eras.
Was coming in here to clown on WWE trying to book Limp Bizkit in 2016, but after reading this:
I got kicked out of one of their events last year I think it was, maybe the year before that, all for throwing up a f***ing birdie at the camera. I just find the whole corp aspect of it to be f***in pussiefied these days; it's obvious why they sank so low in popularity compared to the late 90's and early 00's. They wanted us to do WM32 next year but f*** that. We want to do NJPW. We'd love to head over to Japan. We're still wrestling fans. Not WWE fans."
Whether you people like it or not, a)Fred's 100% right, b)He has a large social media following so he's still somewhat relevant and c) their worst songs from that era are better than many of the crap put out today. Besides older bands like Foo Fighters or Seether who else is out there? FFDP? Rise Against?
I've always been a fan of Limp Bizkit. Somehow I like them even more now. Both because they want to perform for New Japan, and because they are unashamed WRESTLING fans and will tell Vince straight to his face how shit WWE is.
Fred is the man. Even he knows that WWE is shit. I used to love when they used their songs for the PPV themes and Taker's theme back in the day. Alot of nostalgia every time I listen to this band.
Limp Bizkit it's something I thought it was cool on high school before I discover better metal music, still Fred always had attitude, I can't see him returning after than incident.
And yes they are not popular or good musicians , but still they are a lot better than that fucking garbage WWE gives us; Florida, Pitbull, Machine Gun Kelly?, lol that shit wouldn't make it on the 90's.
Another Band who is a HAS Been..Why would we want them at Wrestlemania anyway?
But I think it´s good that they turned down the offer, maybe it can get WWE management to think a little when a Band who´s not even that big a name anymore turns down the offer to get some serious media attention..
