Fomer WWE Champion Daniel Bryan has been on a heavy press tour to promote his new book, and is pulling no punches when it comes to telling stories about his WWE career. Yesterday on Opie Radio, Bryan elaborated on a huge backstage argument with Triple H.

"I had gotten a stinger in a match and lost feelings in both of my arms. I have a mentality of never stopping a match. Whether it's really good or really bad, that's my mentality," Bryan said.

Bryan said that despite him repeatedly telling the ringside doctor that he was going to be okay, Triple H was sending word to stop the match, which infuriated Bryan.

"I had never had a stinger before. Triple H tells the medical doctor at ringside to stop the match. I sprinted into the ring and tried to keep the match going with Randy Orton, because this was going to be the biggest win of my career to that point," Bryan explained. "I did a top rope dropkick, and I couldn't get up, I couldn't move my arms. Randy, he's on the ground going 'Dan, Dan, what the F are you doing?'"

Shortly after, Triple H had the match stopped.

"When I came back, I was hot. I don't want to say we got nose-to-nose, because he's 6'3. We came pretty close. They're more conscious of protecting us from ourselves," Bryan said.

Bryan said that Bryan quickly realized he was wrong, something his eventual wife, Brie Bella, would tell him as well.

The more stories he shares, the more "Benoit in the making" he sounds (though obviously not that bad as yet), minus the steroids ...

Yah, this guy even though he knows what's not good for him is relentless to a fault (and not in a good way). He'll probably end up in some other promotion, but it looks to me like till he softens up his stance on the way he works, his WWE career is likely over. Sad ... but like I've said before - some men need to be saved from themselves. Someone needs to convince him that he may still be able to have a legendary WWE career working at 75% capacity. He just needs to work smart.

Bryan has said on more than one occasion that the one way to truly frustrate him is by getting in the way of the thing he feels he does best...wrestling. He's very passionate about that and managed to get heated when a match of his got interrupted...nothing to do with "Benoit" symptoms.

At the end of the day cooler heads prevailed and Trips clearly didn't feel it was worth a punishment

Bryan comes across as a quiet, humble but very strongly driven character. Having someone with an attitude to finish the job no matter what is admirable but if it comes at putting your long-term health at risk you need to have the right people around you to let you know enough is enough. Thankfully DB seems to be surrounded by the right people.

After a thing like that you could be a little bit over-stressed so you could say or do something you will regret afterwards. I don't agree with his mentality and I don't know if he really thinks he was wrong in that occasion: for sure when he'll come back he has to pay a lot of attention, and I'm sure he'll do it. I hope to see him again in a WWE ring.

i love guys with passion like DB.
however he should be surrounded by guys which care about his body that DB can do by himself. i hope he does not leaves and goes to another promotion where they will work him until he is a crip (sorry i am austrian and have no better word for a person with dead body).

he can do other stuff too. make him manager of cesaro and fight authority - so many options to use DB personility and momentum he still got

Being passionate doesn't mean you make the right decisions all the time. Maybe short term it works in his favor, but long term could be more than he wants to pay for.

Being passionate could cause him to be very short sighted and stubborn. I don't see how yelling at someone who was just trying to protect you is "Bad ass". Triple H was right to stop a match when someone is INJURED. Let it be something like Triple H let someone work injured and it worsened their injury, many would call him a negligent boss.

Some people need to be saved from themselves as other have pointed out. When someone wants to go 100 all the time when their body asks for 80, they're not being safe. Bryan is scared/refuses to tone down his moveset despite already being made. He can't do much wrong to these fans now. What he does now is all by his choice. Fans would love him either way because he's Daniel fucking Bryan.

I'd be cautious with him too knowing he's had like 40 concussions and seems to be getting injured faster and faster lately.

I think Bryan is going to end up one of those tragic wrestling stories like the Von Erich brothers.
