Is Cena slowly winning over critics? Would you agree he has definitely improved this year?

Some have always disliked him while I know some will say that yeah Cena has always been good..but in the eyes of 2015..do you think based on his matches, including those recent that he has begun to slowly improve the skeptics..or not really? Do you think his 2015 qualifies him for one of his best years?

Umm nah he is still a terrible seller. And botched reguarly in that match with Cesaro. He is good but not great. Cesaro carried that match. Working with a legit wrestler, really shows off Cenas flaws in the ring.

Wrestling wise.. Cena has shown a lot more in 2015.. Not that he didn't have great matches in the past.. But FINALLY Cenas move set has expanded beyond just the random $$$ PPV.. He's pulling out new moves and different in ring psychology on a consist basis now on TV.

One thing that definitely stands out.. Has anyone else noticed how he's getting more visibly pissed at refs (in a heel way) late in the matches when he only gets a two count?

Nope, he's still the same old botchy hack who runs like a penguin thats shat itself.

He's been experimenting with new moves, which I'm guessing it related to the fact that he keeps wrestling guys like Owens and Cesaro who can do a lot. I think they're teaching him.

However, Cena rarely executes these moves very well. I'll give him credit for moving beyond his old stale rotation, but he's nowhere near guys like Cesaro when it comes to complex moves.

That being said his character is still stale, corny, and dull. Thankfully he's out of the WWE title picture for now.

John Cena have had a lot of entertaining matches throughout his career whether we like him or not. Throughout his reign as the face of the company since 2005, he has been involved in many great matches whether you see him a good or bad worker but he does bust his ass when needed.

You can't deny not having great matches with Shawn Michaels, Triple H, JBL, Randy Orton, Umaga, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, Brock Lesnar and the rest goes on. It also seems nowadays he has been pulling out new moves every once in awhile which is impressive.

People criticize him from botching moves but at least, he tries it. Some work... some look awkward but like the old saying goes: "It's better try and fail rather fail to try!" >:)

He's not gotten better. People are just enamored with his matches because they're the only ones on the show allowed to pass the 10 minute mark and use multiple finishers.

Amount of successfully performed finishers - 7
Finisher teases (finisher reversals) - 10
Kickouts - 17
Botches - 5
Cena calling spots - 13

Having 7 finishers in one match is just absurd, shows how uncreative WWE are when it comes to orchestrating their matches. Back in the day, we were surprised if somebody kicked out of one finisher, now we're surprised when there's not at least 4 finishers in one match.

I think, for all Cena's talk of, "The fans can do whatever they want, love me, hate me, as long as they're making noise", he does care and wants to be liked. I was watching a 2006 Raw the other day on the Network, he gets agitated by the boos and tells the haters to kiss his ass during a promo.

This seems like the year that Cena wants to shed that "five moves, lolCenawins" stigma" and prove himself to be more versatile and give back to WWE and its younger talent, so that his lasting legacy is a strong one. He's getting older and more importantly, carries a shitload of nagging injuries on a grueling schedule. I think by 2016/2017 Cena will be on a part time schedule ala' Jericho, just to save his body a bit. And as much as I love his 2015 matches, it's a new level of intensity that I don't think he can maintain.

It has been fantastic though. Cena vs Zayn and now Cena vs. Cesaro, two of my favourites this year, and of course the Owens matches. Really you could go through a few more of his open challenges, it's so hard to pick just one favourite!

The biggest difference lately is he is actually grinding out matches on TV now.. Once saved only for big PPVs. He isn't getting destroyed for 15 minutes only to hulk up and finish the match in 10 seconds anymore. Every one of his matches now I actually believe he stands a chance of losing. This is how Hogan was booked. He was king but the way his matches were setup you even though in the back of your mind knew he was gonna win, there was still a air of belief he could actually lose for once because of the way the match was carried. Last nightly Cena was actually visibly gassed at last portion of the match. Yes he's gimmicky, yes he has catch phrases.. But in 2015 he's working like a rookie again and it makes swallowing his gimmicky catch phrases a little easier since he's actually working now.

I don't care about quality of his matches anymore, the only thing I want to see happen relating to jawn boi is people stop getting fed to him. The only thing. It's time in his career he can start putting some people other than Lesnar over in feuds. If he ends up fully going over Owens in this feud as he did to Rusev and Wyatt, then its fully and utterly tripe.

Nobody cares whether he has improved or is winning over some internet fans with his "work rate" and "love for the business".

He is garbage. He is goofy. He is not entertaining. He is the poster boy for everything that is wrong with the WWE.

It isn't just him. Even the likes of jericho and punk with their "best in the world" BS was terrible for wrestling. No more epic storylines. No more badasses doing cool shit like nash, hall, austin, steiner, HHH, rock. Just generic trash where people say "I am better than you and will win". That is indy trash. And cena is moving towards indy trash more and more. He does indy wrestling too. He doesnt tell a story like HBK, flair, austin or taker would. Nah he just does move --> cover ---> kick out at 2. And the stupid crowds chant this is awesome.

Cena is the worst wrestler I have ever seen. He shouldn't even be a jobber. He is that bad.

I think you truly don't think that. I almost get the impression from what you have typed that you almost hate him or majorly dislike him anyway. But why... in the end of the day, it is just wrestling. Don't get me wrong, I have been a huge wrestling fan for 10+ years but to see those remarks about Cena is kind of silly. I never liked Alberto but I didn't hate him. But every one to their own. I haven't been a fan of Cena since 2006 just because he's not my cup of tea. But for others, he is and I understand that. I can see how people get into him.

But this year specifically, he has had some great televised matches already and the "Cena Open Challenge" every Monday has been one of the best things about Raw lately and has produced some high quality matches. On top of that with Cena adding more moves to his set. I think he has improved quite a bit.
