I love Hogan, but I believe he should never "wrestle" again.

I just saw it... are you kidding me? I mean... I'm not gonna lie Hulk got me through a large part of my childhood, but come on. I know he doesn't really believe he could headline Wrestlemania at 61, but still no more matches please. I am truly afraid he might break his hip performing a leg drop. I saw his last match against Sting and even though that match was fun for nostalgic purposes, he could barely move and suffered so many injuries in that one match that he hasn't performed again.

I remember I wrote on this forum an idea for Hogan taking the title from AJ Styles, but only if he didn't wrestle. My idea was to have Bobby Roode and Matt Morgan wrestle and defend the title for him or add handicap stipulations until finally someone defeated him in a gauntlet match with limited in ring time for Hogan.

People will, to this day, still pay to see Hulk wrestle, but I worry for his health. If he wrestles a 1 min squash against an Nxt guy or Bo Dallas and can pull off a leg drop, then fine. But if he wants to wrestle a full length 15-20 match, I am completely against it. Are we really supposed to take Hogan vs John Cena seriously? And is McMahon actually considering it? This is not ageism, but I do believe if Vince wants this, then there is no argument against him being out of touch. What people want to see is AJ Styles vs Cena not some legend that now moves like an octogenarian.

There is a part of me that hopes I am wrong and Hogan can wrestle a classic, and I admit, even though I don't want to see it, I would still watch for the circus effect. I vote against Hogan wrestling a full length match at Wrestlemania. They should bring back Goldberg instead, who is in great shape and eligible for the hall of fame. Goldberg vs Seth Rollins > Hogan vs anybody.

What else does Hogan have to prove? He is just being selfish because he wants that big Wrestlemania paycheck. If I were Vince or Triple H, I would have him tryout against Jamie Noble at the Wellness Center to see if he can do anything. If he survives 5 minutes, then I would consider.

I want to see him go, once last time.

I'll admit, I will be suspending the biggest amount of disbelief ever, but this guy (and HBK/Foley) have given me some of the biggest thrills and chills since I started watching...

This isn't even a controversial opinion so stop acting like everyone's gonna come out and jump you for coming out and stating this.

I can just imagine this old grandpa trying to hulk up against someone like Lesnar with Lesnar no selling it and just beating the shit out of him. Welcome back to reality, Hulk. Shit would be hilarious to watch. :lmao

.
You're as out of touch as Vince is, if you think fans want to see AJ Styles vs Cena.. I mean a few smarks might want to see that, but the majority of fans would much rather see Cena/Hogan, regardless of his age.

I agree though, he shouldn't wrestle again.

If you're talking about casuals and mainstream old heads who think Roddy Piper is still a relevant name... then yes. Oh yeah let's not forget those who paid to see Snooki at Wrestlemania.

Now if you ask the "wrestling" audience what match would they rather see. I admit, 1/3 of them would not know who AJ Styles is. The other 2/3 would choose that match. The 3/3 would not want to see Hogan wrestle at all...

Hogan vs Cena would draw but not for the right reasons. Hogan never needed to beat Bruno Sammartino or Lou Thesz. What good would a victory over Hogan do for John Cena?

I don't even think it's about the big paycheck. It's an ego thing. The WM attendance record is still WM 3. He doesn't want that to get broken, unless it's "him" that breaks it.

Nobody wants to see another match from Hogan, what people want is one last "Hulk Up" from him, the best they could do is book a tag team match:

let's say:

John Cena (for example) and Hulk Hogan vs Wade Barret & Sheamus

A 8 minutes match where they could tease Cena tagging Hogan, in the last seconds of the match Cena finally tags him, Hogan does his Hulk Up routine for the last time in front of a WM crowd, it doesn't matter if a guy like Sheamus or Barret have to sell for him, to the eyes of the WWE Universe is way better to lose to Hogan than geeks like Ziggler or Neville.

I'd love to see him win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal by last eliminating Cena after 2-3 tense minutes between the two.

It'd be an absolutely classic moment and it's honestly like that damn trophy means a goddamn thing to anyone. They already squandered it by giving it to Cesaro and Big Show.

Hogan doesn't need to wrestle again (and right now I don't think he will, but who knows). I'm fine with him making promo appearances every now and then though.

Were definitely getting at least one more match but I agree with everything you said. He shouldn't risk severe injury at this point.

Rumor going round is its gonna be Hogan vs. Cena at Mania, only Vince McMahon (and Hogan) could possibly think thats a good idea. Unless they want next years Mania to be souly be remembered for the Mania Hogan has a heart attack in the ring they will avoid it at all costs. Hogan should never, eeeeeeever wrestle again!

I just saw it...
Just saw what, exactly?

As mentioned in this thread, it's more about the attendance record than anything else. If there's a chance for it to be shattered he wants to be the one to headline it. Even if it means wrestling one more match. I mean, his last match came against Sting in 2011 in front of a few thousand people in a college campus arena. And his last WWE match was against Randy Orton, so he hasn't had that proper sendoff imo.

I kind of agree, but at the same time, Hogan if anyone, deserves that Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels send off. So I say let him have a alf assed match, most played on emotions and then have him retire.

Hulk Hogan
The Undertaker
The Rock
Sting

I hope all of them never wrestle again.
I disagree, especially the Rock, why not the Rock, I'd rather see the Rock than 99% of the rest of the roster wrestle, leaving out Lesnar.

I'd love to see Taker wrestle Sting in one match, and they both have an Epic retirement ceremony.

Hogan selfish??

Naw....
Yeah, it has nothing to do that he actually loves the business and is one of its biggest fans

"I'm a real wrestling fan because workrate"

What's it like being 15?

98 yo Roddy Piper is still going to be more relevant and entertaining than AJ Styles. Any fucking day of the week.
Yeah that is the sad part. There is a reason why Lance Storm or Jerry Lynn made it the way Hogan or Batista did. and it is not just politics.

The Rock? :aries2
I hear you.... People pissed at the Rock for leaving wrestling or what. The fact is that the Rock outdraw them all, he is talented, know how to wrestle, knows how to manipulate the crowd, has the look and that IT factor, brings attention to the business. So for people to say they don't want to see the Rock are either trolling or don't understand how appreciated they should be IF Dwayne decides to return.

If Hogan ever gets in the ring again, he won't be "wrestling" but he'll brawling like he did in his match with Sting at Bound For Glory 2011.

So, yeah, you got your wish, he won't ever be "wrestling" again but as far as having another match again...you never know.
