To troll or not to troll... think I'll go with the latter this time.
I was on the "Reigns train" when he was in The Shield before they started making The Shield all about Reigns, when he was by the far the most inferior talent of the three, and one of the most inferior on the roster when you got past the only thing he was great at, hot tags. That's pretty much all he was good for until the end of 2014.
Then 2015 rolled around, and it's like he made a New Years Resolution to make improvements in the ring. He had a good match with Rusev on the first SD that aired in 2015 (though it was taped in 2014... so does it count as a 2014 match? :hm
He then has a good match with Bryan at Fastlane, a good match with Luke Harper on Smackdown at some point during that, and at Wrestlemania he delivered his best match on the biggest stage possible. That was an excellent match and a worthy main event of Mania, something I never thought I would end up saying about it. And then in the Fatal Four Way, not only was it a great match, but Reigns himself did a great job. Don't know if it was having Dean and Seth in the match which gave him more confidence or freedom to do what he wanted, but he delivered in that match too. And while I hated that Big Show LMS match and stand by my criticisms that it's mostly garbage, too much start and stop early on, a spot fest when you get down to it, and a less than stellar finish, a lot of people seem to like it and most would consider it the 2nd best match of that night (majority consider the tag title match MOTN). And Reigns fans of course will consider it MOTN, but gotta keep that MOTN streak going somehow!
But even with my feelings on that, he's shown a decent amount of improvement in the ring. He's still far from one of the best workers in the company though, and not at a level that lives up to the spot he's in, however I see no reason he to being one of the better and more reliable workers in the company by the time Wrestlemania 32 rolls around.
Guy is still awful on the mic... I suppose he's improved from where he was in regards to stuttering and forgetting lines, but his delivery is still either extremely flat/uninteresting, or whenever he does sound like he's trying, it comes off as corny or over the top. I just don't think he's meant to be a talker in general, a silent badass character is what he was in The Shield, and that's when he was at his best. But yeah, his improvement on the mic is minimal at best.
