His music was good, his debut was as good as ever he got... and I actually very much enjoy when someone is an "oh crap" moment for heels, and than seeing them try desperately to get a watchable match out of Khali.
Nope, he was always terrible. Not sure whose bright idea was it to hire him.
"This guy can barely speak English, barely wrestle and barely walk. LETS GIVE HIM A CONTRACT"
The process of training to be a professional wrestler is a difficult one. Not only is it physically arduous, there’s often a lot of attitude from the more experienced performers who see it as their duty to haze newcomers. If you don’t know what you’re doing, the ring can be a very dangerous place. Case in point: Brian Ong. In May 2001, Ong was a trainee at California’s All Pro Wrestling School when he was assigned to take a “flapjack” move from fellow trainee Dalip Singh (now wrestling in the WWE as The Great Khali). Ong accidentally grabbed Singh’s shirt as he was being driven downwards into the mat, resulting in his skull whipping back and damaging his spine and brainstem. Ong died as a result of his injuries a few days later.
He looked menacing in the beginning. But after he lost most of his musclemass not so much, especially as a face. And didnt he also eliminated himself from the rumble or a battle royal once? I felt bad for the guy in how wwe made fun of him in the last few years he was in wwe.
I enjoyed watching him squash World Heavyweight Champion Rey Mysterio like a complete jobber. I also was entertained by his segment at Backlash 2009. That was actually pretty funny.
I was fascinated by his size and muscular physique when I saw him as Giant Singh. So I was sort of excited to see him when he debuted in WWE, but that wore off rather quickly.
