For what it's worth, WWE has removed Daniel Bryan from their event listings on WWE.com for tonight's Extreme Rules pay-per-view, tomorrow's RAW in Green Bay, WI and Tuesday's SmackDown taping in Moline, IL. He remains listed for this weekend's live events in New York and Canada.

While it would appear that Daniel Bryan will not be defending his Intercontinental Championship at Extreme Rules tonight, his match with Bad News Barrett is still listed in the Extreme Rules micro-site on WWE.com. WWE also posted the tweet below this afternoon linking to their recent article previewing the match:

Well this sucks, let's hope they have Barrett or Sheamus attack him backstage.

While I am really sorry to hear this about Bryan part of me is incredibly fucking annoyed that they have essentially wasted the title on him here. Like where the fuck does it leave the IC title. People moaning before WM31 about it languishing with Barrett, well at least it was getting defended!

And before anyone says I'm heartless or Bryan marks jump down my throat, you can't say I'm not right here. Bryan supposedly gives the IC title some prestige, I don't see it - he clearly isn't fit or healthy. This isn't what the IC title is known for. It's known for the work horse, the talent working their backside off night after night. The talent that is itching to get higher up the food chain, scratching and clawing their way to the top.

He needs to focus on getting better and that's it. If he can't compete he should cut his losses. As much as a shame it would be considering he is a fantastic talent in the ring, it's sad knowing someone will most likely not be what they once were.

Bryan should be stripped of the belt. I like him and I'm a fan, but if he's not physically able to defend the belt and give it the prestige that it needs, another wrestler should be given that opportunity. And before anyone mentions Brock not defending the WWE belt, Bryan isn't Brock and I didn't agree with him not being a fighting champion either.

Bryan needs to focus on his health.

Lesnar wouldn't show for months... so stripping Bryan again despite not stripping Lesnar would just be stupid until he hits about 3 months out of action.

No. Saying don't strip him right away like they did with the WT. Wait until you know the time frame or it looks stupid with Lesnar being out months with no defenses and not being stripped.

I think Bryan could very well be finished, tbh. Putting a title on him after he returned after being away for months was obviously a big mistake. Shows that the WWE needs to ignore Bryan marks and do what makes sense. Some of Bryan's fans wouldn't mind if he rolled out in a motorized wheel chair to "defend" his title.

The comparison's between he and Lesnar are silly. One had the pull to set up a contract that would allow him to only defend every few months. The other may have to retire soon due to persistent injury. You know what you're getting with one while the other is an unknown.

I'm not saying to have him wrestle.. but do not strip him yet. BUild a story around it if you have to, but you do not strip Bryan again after a short time while leaving the gorilla in the room with Lesnar's part time bullshit reign unattended.

You have to have an actual storyline reason or else it will lead to backlash.
