WWE should go TV14 - Exclusive on the Network. Could this work?

WWE has RAW on USA every week, and Smackdown as well. 5 hours total. Both shows are PG.

WWE has a PPV once a month, on the Network. That's PG too (i think?).

They now have their own network - why not use it to launch a 3rd show?

Cut RAW back down to 2 hours. (maybe not at first, but eventually if this 3rd show works, so they don't have too much tv shows in a week).

Make a show called WWE Nitro (don't actually call it Nitro - I just suck at names. Someone can come up with something more creative i'm sure) that is exclusive on WWE Network. Let's place it on Tuesdays, at 8pm. 8-10pm, 2 hours.

Have this show be non-PG. Have it be TV-14 content. But within the existing storylines. Here's an example:

Russev/Cena are feuding right? Well - Raw/Smackdown are all about poopy jokes, and about raising flags, and about Cena/Russev getting into each other's face.
on Nitro - run a more adult-themed angle between the 2. Maybe a bloody brawl, or maybe a sexually themed storyline involving Lana

Orton/Rollins. Have everyting that happened on Raw/Smackdown stay the same as is for their feud so far but:

on Nitro this week - have Orton come out and cut a non-pg promo. Have him drop F Bombs, or other language.

Could something like this work? WWE still keeps its sponsors happy with having PG content on TV with commercials - but also has a non-pg show that caters to the audience they really need (adult males) if they want to sell network subscriptions.

This new show (NITRO) doesn't even have to be in an arena setting. Make it something different. Be innovative. Remember that RAW after Royal Rumble shot in WWE Studios? Well - do that. No matches - just angles, interviews, promos, etc. Or - you can have matches too, maybe not just in front of a live audience? See if it works.

Exactly, and as has already been said, as long as they have the same blithering idiots controlling the "writing," the "scripting," and the "booking," you could change it to Rated R and have the whole front row lined with with topless fans and the only difference would be you would have a shit show with topless people..

"Edgy" does not equal quality.

With this crap booking, going Rated R wont work...cause only Hunter and Steph would get TV time and in their little heads think that they are over. Being PG is not bad. Wrestling is family entertainment. There are plenty of directions in which they can go while being PG...Its just that they are too damn lazy and too damn afraid of pushing a guy that they don't like.

I'm all for them doing TV14 shows. I really only want to see hardcore matches and blood. I don't care about bra and panty matches.

They should air the TV14 network show unedited, but then edit/blur certain things while recapping on Raw or Smackdown.

Certain sponsors would still probably drop them, but shows like Walking Dead are TVMA and they have unlimited sponsorship potential.

They'd also be well suited to court other promotions to air on the network furthering their stranglehold on the industry.
I wish they would look at things that way but I am afraid they still have the anal retentive mindset that killing all other wrestling companies no matter how small they are is whats best for business.

It's all Linda's fault anyway.

Moving to TV14 won't help things. The WWE sucked during the latter years when they were TV14

There is no need for another show when the product is overexposed as it is.

Sponsors don't run the product. The Walking Dead is TVMA with sponsors. They won't go outta business if Raw turned TV-14 on Monday night or they decided to make all the PPVS(which air on the network) TV14. If this pussified company is that dependent on sponsors then they are in more trouble than I thought.

You want to make everyone happy(including some talent who are or were against the PG product to begin with *coughHHHcoughOrtoncough*)?

RAW/PPVS: TV14 DLV
SD/NXT: TVPG LV

Network are more than capable of running TV14 but when they already struggle to attract subscribers they wouldn't risk trying that until Network was more established with a solid, reliable subscriber base.

They are struggling to attract subs because they've alienated the adult fanbase who are the ones who would subscribe to the Network.

If they are willing to do non wrestling TV 14 shows on the network and the sponsors are still happy then why not do a TV 14 wrestling show on the network?

Also an idea I just got is to make the TV 14 show a Jerry Springer type show and have Jerry Springer host it, You could call it, WWE Unleashed!
