Imagine if for 3 months the WWE took off the shackles on promos and in-ring action who would come out looking best? Who do you think would benefit most from being able to do what they feel in the ring without having their move sets limited? Whose promos would come across better without the scripts?

Split it into three

In-ring =
Promos =
Overall =

Here are mine;

In-ring = Daniel Bryan/Shaemus
Promos = Ziggler
Overall = Rollins/Ambrose

I don't know what anyone has ever seen that would make them think Dolph Ziggler would be the breakout promo. It's not just that his material is bad, his delivery is terrible and he never once sounded like an actual dude and not a guy playing pro wrestler.

As a whole, I'd say Cena. No other wrestler on the roster has his combination of ring/mic talent + kayfabe presence and legacy. Take the shackles off him, you could have a legit Hogan maybe.
Cena and Hogan have never been known for their 'ring work' but you're right about the charisma/stickwork/kayfabe presence/legacy.

Cena with no shackles could get over with his stickwork alone, because we wouldn't get cheap pop promos or fruity pebbles.

Dean Ambrose if anyone has seen his work as Jon Moxley you will know that guy is being held back and his mic skills, wrestling skills were better in that character

Paige I know this girl has alot more to give but WWE holding back a diva's work in the ring is obvious they dont want a girl outshining the guys in the ring. I remember Paige saying when she was in development they had to water her down as the more in experienced girls couldnt keep up with her

Dolph Ziggler has alot more to give hes an amazing seller but oh no hes not the poster boy that Vince wants

Seth Rollins was doing some crazy stuff on the indys but now WWE have watered him down it just sucks let him be Tyler Black

Wade Barrett a bare knuckle fighter who could actually do damange in the ring but hes being held back if WWE took of the shackles we would see a totally different Wade Barrett today

(in order)

1. Seth Rollins (One of the best all-rounders that WWE has)
2. Cesaro (No explanation needed)
3. Dolph Ziggler (The REAL underdog)
4. Wade Barrett/Dean Ambrose (tie)

Seth Rollins is fuckin' impressive at this point. He's overall the highlight of the show imo.

To avoid parroting everyone else:

Ring: Rusev. Strength, speed, agility, trained in Samba, Sumo and Jiu-jitsu; only does 3 moves in WWE, WTF?!

Promo: Wyatt. While he currently has more freedom than most guys his character isn't exactly PG by nature, if he could turn up the evil he could be really amazing.

Overall: Reigns. Between the over scripted cartoon promos and the forced underdog booking that requires him to get his ass kicked until he hulks up, Reigns is being held back the most by Vince's antiquated idea of what makes a superstar.

Ring: Cesaro
Promo: Cody Rhodes/Stardust. I think he will surprise a lot of people with how good he is at cutting promos (when given time and direction of course), not just his mic skill but his dedication to his character.
Overall: Dean Ambrose

I hate how the Goldust feud drops down from 100 mph to a screeching halt to nowhere. We saw some progression in the Stardust character and as of February he's been doing nothing of relevance. Sure he was in the IC ladder match but he was purely filler. That one promo he had was really impressive. Loads of talent run in the Rhodes/Runnels family.

Ring: Bryan, if the neck held up. If not, any of about a dozen of the NXT lads.
Promos: Bit left field this selection, Barrett. I'm not entirely sure how well the full repertoire of a British, and especially a Northerner's, aggressive, crude, tweener type character would work, and we'd deffo need to get rid of PG! Being PG restricts promos so much.
Overall: Maybe Rusev, if he wasn't booked as the nasty foreigner, but more like Lesnar-lite.

This is much much harder to gauge seeing as there are conflicting reports about these kind of things all the time, one day there is talk about WWE being way too regimented and then the next day you have people like HHH coming out and saying "we only help guys with promos who would like the help, otherwise we let them go out and say what they fee as long as they don't bury sponsors etc"

so it's hard to gauge.
