Worst moment in WM history.

I've been mulling this over since it happened at WM Play.

The worst moment in WM history is HHH shaking Sting's hand. "I destroyed your company. I'm going to erase your legacy. I fucked you up with my buddies and sledgehammer to the face. I respect you.". What in the fuck was that? The moment was meant to be historic but it was the cheesiest most illogical shit ever. Why?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!??????????? This was essentially like that time that HHH lost a match a couple years ago and walked to the back all slow waiting for his heroic ovation and the crowd finally gave him a mild one to get him to fuck off. His ego really knows no bounds. Always needs to get that "historic moment", put himself over, so he can go stroke himself to it.

Seriously, it's probably this.
I completely gave up on the product at this time and quit watching entirely so I missed this farce of a Wrestlemania.
Then I read the results and saw not only did he headline but that he won and I felt satisfied that at least I had made the right choice by not wasting a second of my time on that shit.

The put THE strap (not the WHC, but THE WWE Title) on the most annoying joke of a "sports entertainer" possible. Just shameful.

HHH walking out of WrestleMania 2000 tops my list. I just thought that was The Rock's night and that HHH was already legit after the Cactus Jack feud. It was time to lose, and he lost the title later that month anyway at Backlash.

The whole setup with the McMahons and the Fatal Four Way was dumb to begin with, though. Just an all-around weird main event.

easily the worst. wwe basically told the audience that everything since the summer of 1997 meant nothing. there is a very good reason wwe lost 40% of their audience (never to return) between mania 17 and 19

its up there with the idiotic things wcw did between december 98 and october 2000 such as having nash go over goldberg, fingerpoke, putting the belt on russo/arquette etc

For me it was easily Butterbean v Bart Gunn at Wrestlemania 15. It made no sense, made the WWF look stupid and rendered the entire Brawl 4 All pointless. They had a chance to make Bart Gunn into a star off his momentum but instead they killed his career by putting him in a real fight against a professional knockout fighter with an insanely impressive win/loss record. Bart didn't have a chance in hell and Vince should've known better.

HHH/Sting was bad tho.

Funny thing is that Bart could have easily won that match if he had utilized takedowns rather than be an idiot and stand in front of a professional championship boxer. Whoever inflated his ego to think that he could stand with Butterbean should be ashamed of themselves. It was probably Vince and JR since JR's golden boy Dr. Death got his ass beat against Bart.

Worst moment in WM history31

was Seth using the cheap MITB cash-in to disrupt an epic match.

It just goes to show how WWE has turned to shit over the years.

You young viewers won't ever see it because you're use to these bullshit endings.

Perhaps I have a bit of recency bias here. However, it made me angry. How hard is it to just be a little bit logical when your nickname is "The Cerebral Assassin".

Just look at that fucking glory hound. Compare that to the look on the Rocks face when Hogan raised his hand, he was genuinely humbled.

And don't get me fucking started on how forced it was. Hogan-Rock walked up the ramp together after taking care of Hall and Nash, it felt organic. Here, Cena walked up the ramp and let Rock have his moment, but stood up the top waiting for him. Probably the most forced moment in WM history.

Triple H losing to Daniel Bryan.

People still complaining about Rollins cashing in. Hilarious.

I would say Cole/Lawler as well. Also, maybe Big Show's sumo match.
It's been only 3 days, so..

In terms of actual wrestling, yeah, I can't think of one worse than this. Hogan may as well have whipped out his dick and ejaculated on the audience. At least that's a more honest rub. And in essence, that's basically what he did. Hulk "still in the spot light and main event of Wrestlemania" Hogan. Made Bret and Yoko look like total chumps.

Non wrestling wise...anyone remember that awful WM27 segment where Teddy Long was helping Snoop Dogg look for people to go on tour with him? A bunch of superstars basically came in and sang, and all sucked, then Hornswoggle did a fucking rap while the Bellas danced in the background. It was one of those "someone else walks in the room, asks what you're watching and you try to defend being a wrestling fan while feeling like the biggest loser" moments.

It's funny listening to the little kids who started watching post 2000 era trying to defend this match, outcome, or feud in general. This was a pile of shit. And a travesty for any fan of WCW, or just wrestling in general during the late 90s.

Sting had no business losing. And he also had no business shaking HHH's hand after the match. That made it 10 times worse. And it was only done so the fans were then forced to not SHIT on the outcome.

I guarantee you that 5 years down the road, this will be one of the most shit on matches and booking moves in the last 25 years. Funny how so many of those involve HHH winning matches.
