Kayfabe dictates that as soon as a wrestler moves away from full-time in-ring competition, they relinquish their ability to absorb gratuitous amounts of punishment in order to fully transition to their role as expendable civilians.
I thought it was great. When Bork flipped the table they both yelled like they were being swallowed whole by the desk. It was awesome. And nobody flips a table like Brock. Nobody.
The funniest part was how they just left the table tipped over all night and made the commentators stand.
Like, there's been several times where someone goes through the table and a few segments later they put it back together. This table got tipped over on its side and it's like all the stage hands were like "NOPE, TOO DAMAGED, GOTTA LEAVE IT."
Apparently kayfabe speaking a wrestler can go from rebounding in a matter of seconds from bodyslams, piledrivers, and chair shots to being ko'd by having a plastic table flipped over onto them in just a couple of years.
It was hilarious when the camera panned to Booker who was knocked out for a good 5 minutes off a table grazing his leg, could see he was trying his best not to laugh.
I always wonder how they don't laugh more. Like they are acting and having to do it in one take on LIVE tv yet they never crack smiles in all these serious moments etc. I laugh even thinking about some of the shit they do.
I know this won't get mentioned, but I gotta give props to that fucker. Credit to Cole for taking that bump belly/face first. More often than not you'll see others taking the F-5 on their arm/shoulder.
I agree the table taking them off of TV was stupid and I've been trying to wrack my head around it since I watched Raw yesterday. The segment was great though.
I don't think him F5ing all 3 of them would have worked though. Surely after he had got 1 of them the other 2 would have the sense to get out of there(and if they didn't we'd all just complain that they stood there and waited to get the F5)?! So in that respect the table taking 2 out leaving 1 for the F5 made sense but the table wasn't even on them so it didn't make sense....
Loved the segment though. Enjoyed Raw on a whole and Smackdown actually wasn't that bad this week either.
They sold that table like a referee sells getting knocked down by a wrestler.
I mean come on those tables aren't 1 ton creations of sheer force, they look fairly maintainable weight for 2 ex wrestlers to both share the impact of. It was a flipped table for goodness sake!
I guess Brock is such a beast he makes anything dangerous. :mark:
Did JBL have legit surgery? There's a photo of him in a hospital bed on WWE.com... I wonder if they just tied it into the angle from Monday or if the photo itself is a work.
