Did Seth Rollins MITB cash-in cheapen an otherwise epic WrestleMania match between Lesnar and Reigns

How many times have you rewatched the WM31 main event?

that beast straight rag-dolled Reigns.

Best match I seen (I hate to say ever) but damn this match was up there with some Attitude Era and Golden Age era matches.

Only down side is Seth Rollins run-in with the MITB briefcase and pin of not the champion but the rag-doll to steal the belt, CHEAPEND the match.

I'm really out of touch with everyone's opinion of that match. Glorified squash matches are the new 5 star matches?

I'm going to re-watch it to see if my opinion changes. After I heard Stone Cold praising it today I started thinking that their must be something wrong with me. I wish I could see what everyone else saw.

I re-watched the main event once after it happened (I was at Winghouse so I wanted to see it again to hear everything better) & again today just because I wanted to.

One of my favorite things about the match from an unbiased perspective is how Lesnar just kept crawling to get up. Kayfabe wise he's getting up from moves & crawling to his feet on things that have been winning Reigns matches. And also Reigns expression of "he's getting up!" after hitting his punch the first time. It's actually good storytelling, on both parts - this issue is that story before that was Reigns being prison raped for 10 minutes so it takes a little away from it. It's hardly a classic, the match has flaws but if you take from the time Lesnar was busted open on the turnbuckle to the end of the match, it's solid, exciting story telling, especially by WWE standards.

I don't like Reigns but he did decent with what he was expected to do, like I seriously don't like him so I don't want to be labeled as a Reigns sympathizer by anybody. :p They worked around his weaknesses & came up with a match that is actually watchable & had some general excitement at parts. That is WAAAAAY more then most people expected, a lot of posters were expecting Goldberg/Lesnar levels of fuckery.

I agree. I don't see Rollins winning the belt as "giving the fans what they want" but a case of being too chicken to let the match have a real decision.

In my opinion, the best scenario would've been Rollins cashing in and Lesnar beating both of them. I'm not tired of the part-time Championship reign at all, because it's Brock Lesnar with the Title. WWE really missed an opportunity for WrestleMania 32 to be worthy of having the same attendance as WM3. Brock Lesnar could've been like Andre the Giant.

One of the biggest problems of the PG Era has been that nothing ever actually happens or changes. Ever since Night of Champions WWE has not let Lesnar decisively defeat or lose to anyone. I think they chose the cheap way out at WrestleMania 31.

Anyway, I agree about the match. It was going well and I get the feeling that it would've been even better if a MITB cashing in wasn't being prepared for. I loved the blood, the suplexes, everything the opposite of the boring vanilla midget stunts infesting WWE today. It was the most believable match-up and the most believable match until Lesnar started slowing down.

None of the matches felt long enough. It didn't feel rushed, but I definitely hoped the main event would be a big match, pulling out all the stops. It was only 16 minutes. I actually imagined or hoped the match would be like this:

I have only re watched the Orton bs Rollins match, sting vs HHH and brock vs reigns

Rewatched it once, I enjoyed it. That inspired me to rewatch the Cena match from Summerslam for the first time since it aired, which was fantastic second time around. Brock is so entertaining in the ring.

Rewatched once, just because Brock is so damn good at the moment, I probably would have rathered him win after that fourth F5 where he caught him during the superman punch (think this would have been an amazing, dominant ending). But Seths cash in was still awesome none the less.

I just rewatched the main event. It was even better the second time around. Brock/Reigns meshed better than I would've ever given them credit for. I expected Lesnar/Goldberg but the two worked a good match and Rollins cashing in at the end was the cherry. The WWE took a flask for keeping Brock/Reigns as the main event but I'm glad they stood by the decision and Rollins was a good swerve.

I do agree that it's Reigns' best match so far. He keeps improving with each PPV showing.

As for Brock, I don't think he'll ever have a pure wrestling match again at this point. He's just gonna throw anyone he's in the ring with like a rag doll. And that's part of his appeal.

I haven't rewatched again but I will at some point, a few times.

I think I've watched it like the actual PPV twice but watched the Reigns/Lesnar match 3 times in total. Might give it another watch later today, I really enjoyed that WrestleMania.
