Matches where it would have been the perfect time for that superstar to retire?

Obviously, going to be mostly talking about the 'older' superstars who had a perfect match that would have been a great time to retire at their age.

My top ones:

Rock vs Hogan. Perfect sendoff for Hogan, should have definitely been his final match after that, rather than fighting Orton at Summerslam in 06.

HHH Vs Taker. Dubbed an 'End of an era' watching Taker go 20-0 and then HBK/HHH/Taker all standing on stage together. Perfect end to Taker career, would have been awesome to end it there.

Flair vs HBK. Now, I guess realistically Flair last match in WWE was against HBK. But, still he went and wrestled else-where. Personally, that was a great time for him to exit the wrestling ring, and was a special moment. Sadly, he had to come out of retirement and go to TNA.

These are just some of mine, what are yours?

Big show - after his world title run in 2012

Hogan at wm19- I know many people said 18 hogan should have retird but I actually loved the storyline an the match for hogan vs McMahon

Mick Foley- summerslam 2006

Kurt Angle-to many to count

Every wrestler ever who has a retirement match.

Whenever they come back it cheapens their legacy. I respect Austin and HBK for never coming back.

Taker at WM28.

Shawn Michaels when he did retire.

Flair when he did retire.

The Rock at WM28 after winning the once in a lifetime match

Hogan at Summerslam 2005 in a losing effort.

Sting at BFG 2009.

Sting at WM 31.

But Paul, like on so many things, closed the lid on that one.

In retrospect, the "End of an Era" crap at WM 28 was such unbelievable bullshit. Triple H didn't retire, Taker didn't retire, Michaels is still there for appearances. It only marked the end of Jim Ross, but surely that's not what it meant.

Taker at mania 28 is the best answer. What a perfect way to go out for his legacy.

Instead we've got him coming back, putting on lackluster matches, and going over young talent who need wins only so he can leave and not be seen for another year.

Taker at either WM28 or at a push WM29, they should have left the streak unbroken as one of those practically impossible records, in the long run they could have used it multiple times as a measuring stick of wrestlers they had built strongly rather than as a one-off boost to a part-timer.

Taker at WM28 immediately came to mind. I loved the Taker/Punk match, but if this meant Taker retiring 20-0 I would be fine with it.

That visual of Taker/HBK/HHH was perfect, but for someone like Taker you'd almost want to give him his own moment, that was a shared moment between those three guys.

Let's see what they do at WM32.
