Is Bray Wyatt The Next Undertaker

Is Bray Wyatt the next closest thing to the Undertaker as far as character development? It can truly be that this Sunday is the beginning of something big for Bray Wyatt. It's almost as it's a passing of the torch from Taker to Wyatt.

He can talk, but I'll be shocked if Wyatt ever develops anything close to Taker's in-ring ability or mystique/aura (though I will say he was hamstrung on the latter regard due to getting buried by Cena last year.)

Honestly Luke Harper should be getting that "The Next Kane/Undertaker" push due to his size and in-ring ability. He has less time to make an impact than the younger Wyatt and needs the push more urgently.

They should be trying to position Wyatt as the next Mick Foley more than anything else.

Taker barely spoke and had literally like 3 or 4 good matches in the 90s. The WWF focussed on building Taker as a mysterious character and carefully protected him through out his career. Hell, he beat Hogan in his very first year and became the youngest champion back then. His first clean loss came 9 years after his debut to a red hot Steve Austin. On the other hand, Wyatt has been booked like a joke compared to Taker. There is no guarantee that Wyatt will become a legend like Taker. But more effort can be put into his booking.

The next Undertaker? Well that depends. It all comes down to how you define the Undertaker and the legacy he has created. He is a 25-year main event level veteran of this company that has seen more ruined lives, broken relationships, employee turnover, and death than probably any profession. He has been in consistent and constant demand literally since Day 1. Just let this sink in: The man debuted as this very character in 1990 and it is now 2015 and twitter has been blowing up all day with sightings of him, documenting his look, his possible attire, the hair he is growing under his beanie hat. Interest in him NEVER wanes!

Undertaker has taken a cheesy character, owned it, carefully crafted and evolved it to the point that it is a masterful piece of storytelling. How many people, tv shows, movie characters can say that interest in them and or their marketability has lasted a quarter of a century?

He's the undisputed leader of the locker room, talked about in tones of reverence and stories of legend. He never gives interviews out of character or talks about himself. He has presence that can command an audience with a facial expression or turn of his head. His in-ring performances only got better with each passing year and he's accomplished masterpiece matches and physical feats that no man his size should be able to do.

And even now the last chapter seems yet to be written. Can Bray be the next Undertaker? Can ANBODY be? The simple answer is no. The long answer is absolutely not. There will never be another Undertaker. If thinking one-dimensionally and wondering whether or not Bray will take up the dark character torch well I guess that might be true as there really aren't any dark characters anymore. Even then I see Bray as more of a Mankind character. Off his rocker (pun intended), willing to do anything, say anything, go anywhere with anybody then an awe-inspiring commanding force like The Undertaker.

NO. I just said on another thread a few days ago that Bray Wyatt is nothing like the Undertaker. The Undertaker was intimidating. There is nothing intimidating about Wyatt. Taker was big, tall, dark, rolled his eyes back in his head and when you saw him it brought out images of hell and demons and things of the underworld. He scared kids.

Wyatt is fat, not scary, talks in nonsensical riddles, wears vacation clothes and mostly cuts promos and laughs. He is SUPPOSED to be scary but he's not. He just comes off to me as a demented backwoods hillbilly. The kind that everybody stays away from because he's so weird and that they laugh at together with their friends. The best part of him is his entrance theme. He will never fill Undertakers shoes.

And you know what I was told when I stated all this on the other thread?
HE ISN'T SUPPOSED TO BE THE NEXT UNDERTAKER!!!!

Well that's good because he will never fill Taker's shoes!

First of all, I don't think anyone can be the next Undertaker. He's a once in a lifetime performer.

But as far as being a talented big man, with an effective supernatural character, yes, Wyatt can follow in the footsteps of Taker. I think, in certain ways, Bray Wyatt could eventually become better at certain aspects. He's definitely a better promo, and his level of improvement in the ring has been impressive, from his debut to his most recent matches with Ambrose, he's come a very long way.

First Wrestlemania against John Cena, second against the Undertaker. Bray's only 27 too, he has many, many more years and WWE are clearly high on him to give him such high-profile spots. He has an amazing future, and will probably go down as one of the very best, at least of this generation.

I just hope he goes over Taker at Mania. He could be so great if the WWE would just book him the right way. I don't need Taker to win for me to be interested in Sting/Taker for WM32. The Stinger is making me want that feud with his work with HHH the last few weeks.

Not Undertaker?
Not Mick Foley.. don't understand the Foley comparison.
Not Waylon Mercy.. This comparison doesn't make any sense, he wore Hawaiian shirts, that's it, he was a psycho but a Cape Fear type.

He's Bray Wyatt.

He's got similar aspects to his character like Taker. He's a mystique, a supernatural type of character. He's deranged but NOT Mankind deranged. He's a manipulator, he's a demon in the form of a human being. He's the new supernatural force within the company.

Yup he's easily the closest thing they have to Undetaker gimmick wise. They have to be careful with him though because even though he's losing feuds to guys high on the card they can't keep knocking him down and building him back up because that will only work for so long. Bray should be a dominant heel instead of being booked like a guy who can't get the job done which has been the case so far for most of his run. He will never have the ame impact or longevity like The Undertaker but i think those days are gone.

Bray is fully capable of forging out a successful career in this business. All it will take is a bit of faith from WWE. Show some faith in other talent like you have with Reigns. It goes back to the mentality of putting all their eggs in one basket but it goes further than that as WWE are in danger of losing those eggs as they are too busy trying to protect just thet ONE egg.

From the second he debuted I said he had a mystique and aura that only Taker has had before, he should be but the issue is he simply won't be.

Taker will go over him Sunday and the WWE don't hold Wyatt in high enough regard for him to be treated like the new Taker.

But IMO he has it all and more to be the new "deadman" or "face of fear".

Hes the next thing but he will never be the Undertaker. Hes as different as they come and he does a pretty good promo but people dont buy his talent yet. Give him 2 years of good bookings and maybe he will be the next best thing to the undertaker but the latter is the good.....if not the best that wrestling has ever seen in my opinion

I was thinking the logical thing to do if the Sting vs Taker match is going to happen would be for Taker to give Wyatt the win. He comes out the next night on Raw and Sting challenges him to one more match at Mania 32. Taker then beats Sting in what is the last match for both of them.

The build has been all over the place but I think it's actually a very interesting Wrestlemania when it comes to wins and losses. Definitely the most unsure about predictions I've ever been for a WWE ppv

I definitely see Bray as the next mysterious character like the Undertaker has been throughout most of his career. WWE has to look at the future WM event attractions such as having Bray perhaps starting a streak of his own for a few short years atleast. Should be interesting.

He should be. However, since the WWE has been constantly showing clips of The Undertaker being destroyed at last year's WM throughout the entire year, I'm assuming that Bray's going to lose on Sunday.
