Which other sports or simply a TV show has a fanbase that is just as worst as wrestling?

I'm just curious.

None because no other sports or television shows spite their fan base so much as the WWE and do the opposite of what their fans want. No other tv show insult their audience nearly as much as the WWE insults their own or think that their entire audience is full of idiots who can't remember what happened 5 minutes ago then criticize and call fans "marks" who do remember and want continuity

I don't know about wrestling because that's what those lowly indie promotions call themselves.

WWE, the only Sports Entertainment company in the world, has the best fans in the world! We are affectionately called the WWE Universe and we support the WWE 135%. I don't think there is a more loyal and devoted fanbase anywhere else.

Don't let the people here fool you OP. Go to Facebook and see what real fans think!

The ones who complain about the complainers are the ones who bring this fanbase down imo. I mean you have people who come on here and try to be hipsters and like "da casualz" and talk down to people because they like indy guys or dare say bad things about the WWE. What other fanbase has people who do shit like that? So yeah, given that, we're probably the worst.

soccer/football fans are a million times worse.

i have yet to see wwe fans in mass bring "fire vince" signs or camp outside his house in protest to get him to quit.

i have yet to see wwe fans start riots in the city where wwe are playing because a result didn't go their way.

in fact i would say uk soap-opera fans are far worse too. i was in manchester back in 1998 and they were holding a protest in the middle of the city to make the shows producers change the storylines..

imagine a wrestling storyline making the front page of the national newspapers and the president getting involved, yet thats exactly what happened back in the uk in 1998

I wouldn't say it's the entire fanbase of wrestling that's like that. For the most part, it's the hardcore fans/smarks that "know what to look for". Most fans don't have internet forum accounts and discuss wrestlers' "psychology" and "ring work", and therefore, don't really care that much.

It's mostly the fans that dissect wrestling and pay attention to the nuances that complain the most. Of course, there are the fans who get angry with the direction of certain wrestlers (like DB), or those who just find someone boring, but for the most part, wrestling fans in general aren't like the fans around here. That is, 95% of them don't hate what they're watching.

In fact, I'd say that most fans don't really boo guys that are boring. Most every event that I've been to, for the most part, fans aren't booing guys like Khali or Big Show, they're just sitting there in a comatose state waiting for it to end so they can cheer when someone they care about comes out.

The rise of the internet hasn't helped things, either. I mean, if you go back and dissect wrestling from any period of time, you'll find LOTS of examples where people would say, "man, this guy has no psychology", "this makes no sense! what a terrible finish!", or, "they're burying him!". The way wrestling works hasn't changed a whole lot. It's just the fact that the "inner workings" of wrestling are more accessible these days. The internet is a place where someone can come to find out "what makes a good wrestler", how wrestling is "supposed" to be booked, etc. I'm not much of an internet person (I get on to look at the news, look stuff up, etc. but not to really interact), so I was really taken aback when I joined this forum a couple of years ago and found out who the "good" wrestlers are and who the wrestlers that "can't wrestle" are. Once you get in that mindset and start looking for all the little things that people around here/on the internet point out, it's hard maintaining that casual outlook.

TL;DR: casual fans and hardcore fans are like night and day (for the most part), and usually the crowds that crap on the product are the "smart" crowds who are dissecting the matches and product. Wrestling fans, in general, are just there to be entertained and don't worry so much about continuity, psychology, and ring work. I think you're getting a skewed view of wrestling fans by relying on opinions you read on the internet.

Edit: It also doesn't help how many of the fans these days are dorks. From my experience, dorks hate everything that they "like", and prefer to complain about something that was lacking instead of praising what was good about something.

If a ballet dancer can't do ballet she shouldn't be there. The only reason she isn't heckled is because ballet audiences are not supposed to make noise. It's a stupid comparison. You think a football player performing badly in a game wouldn't get booed?

Also, the WWE encourages the "WWE Universe" to "make their voices heard" and pretend they do everything "for the fans", but when fans actually do respond honestly, WWE throws a hissy fit because they're not going along with the program?

That's gonna be me when that Gambit movie comes out.

Anyways, follow any of your favorite sports teams online & it's just as bad as wrestling. I'm a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan & the official team message board is just as cynical & terribly annoying as this forum. Both forums make me dislike my fellow fans but I also always remember that the people online constantly talking about sports & wrestling are in the minority & the average fan, whether hardcore or more casual - is actually a nice person in real life & easy to get along with.

Also it's easier to discuss criticism then discuss happiness, more people are gonna talk & post online with gripes over compliments, it's human nature.

Wrestling fans that try to distance themselves from other wrestling fans are the worst though, especially online. Calling other people "IWC" & "smarks" - using those two retarded labels in order to sound like they're not a part of it. It's like motherfucker we're all the same damn thing, you're not a special snowflake no matter how much you post about "You guys" this & "You guys" that.

Absolutely none.

No sports come close. However, there's a load of fanbases for various media that are just as bad, if not worse than WWE. Fans of stuff like Game of Thrones, Marvel, Hunger Games, Dark/Demon Souls, Supernatural etc. can be absolutely insufferable.

None. Not even close.

But ask the question on the flipside of things.

How satisfied are you with WWE right now? 1 to 10, 10 being the most, 1 being the least. My guess it's below 5. If not you personally - I would venture a LARGE portion of the people on this forum are well below 5.

Other sports. NBA, NFL, NHL....
Other TV Shows - Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Big Bang Theory...

Is your level of satisfaction with said show as low as WWE's? 5 or less?

I would be willing to bet that 95% of shows you watch are not - if not you would stop watching.

WWE - people are so loyal and love the idea of pro-wrestling so much that even with a shitty product they keep getting viewers.

Fanboys of anything are as bad. Now a fanbase as a whole, thats different.

I'm not as invested as a fan into any other fanbases that are quite like pro wrestling fans.

But I do know that there are people that are fans of other things that are just horrible.

Ex- CM Punk did an open QnA for UFC once, and the people that got up to ask questions were all either deluded, drunk, or just straight up dumbasses. Most came across as lowest common denominator.

That kind of fan sucks ass. But WWE and professional wrestling has much in the same for their fandoms.

I think the reason WWE's is the way it is is because WWE constantly insults its fandom's intelligence, saying one thing but meaning another, outright lying, manipulating, hiding things, etc etc.

WWE is dirty, so its fans either believe their bullshit and eat up whatever they're given, or call them out on their bullshit and fight to get something better.

Its pretty interesting.

Trying to compare fans of WWE to fans of sports teams or fans of TV shows is kind of stupid anyways...

Pro Wrestling or Sports Entertainment is just a totally separate form of entertainment. It is basically taking an "TV Show" product and putting it in a "Sports" environment/atmosphere. So what you get is both the good and bad from fans of each medium.

Bioware fans.

Their outcry makes this forum look like we are talking about our little pony.

Send a basket of fruit to say well done to HHH - send muffins to Boiware headquaters 2 years previously to say FU to the developers.

News media covers Batista getting booed - 1 day.
News media covers ME3 ending - months.

People hating Roman Reigns vs simplification of combat and tactics in DA2 and 10 spells in DA3. Put it this way - Death threats have been made to Bioware (sadly) after DA2, which forced the writer to leave. ME3 had a government petition to castigate bioware. And I do not even visit bioware boards anymore after playing a little of DA3.

That reminds me, those fucking bronies are creepy as hell. They have to be the absolute worst fanbase out there. Thank God there are no bronies on this message board.
