Do you still think Sting vs. Undertaker is a match worth making?

Do you guys still want to see Sting vs. Undertaker at WrestleMania 32?

I know people wanted to see it going into the last couple of years, but it didn't happen. How about next year? When Sting will be 57, and Undertaker will be 51? Is it too late to be what would have been this year or last year?

Match will suck without a doubt, and be painful to sit through. It would only hurt their legacies in the end. Do you really want the undertaker to go out with a shit match wrestling a balding, T-shirt wearing, old gassed up Sting at wrestlemania?

Put Taker against Bryan or Rollins next year. That'd be money.

Yes 100% I think it will happen. They need a huge big time match to sell 100K tickets.

Yeah I think WWE is has it penciled in as long as no major injuries happen to Sting or Taker, and as long as they both perform well. Sting is on a 6 appearance deal, he was 3 left. His next appearance will likely be the Raw before Wrestlemania. Then he will wrestle Triple H at Wrestlemania, and his final appearance will be the Raw after Mania, to make the match with Taker. Thats what appears to be the coarse things are on, although it could change...

No.

Don't want to see Sting or Taker wrestle anymore, to be honest.
You know I agree with this but at the same time, I wouldn't care if it happened. I mean, they've actually resorted to using filler matches at quite a few of the past Wrestlemania's so it wouldn't "harm" the WWE any more then they already harm themselves. And if it's a situation where both guys are retiring then why the hell not, we could always argue the "put another guy over" argument but nobody gets over in the WWE anyways unless they want you too, you could beat Hogan, Austin, Rock & Cena and still be put on Superstars with fans not giving a shit if that's what WWE wanted.

Huge match? How about Rock vs Lesnar? Rock vs HHH? even Rock vs Reigns?
Rock is not a guarantee for wm32. They can't rely on him for 32. Sting vs Taker they most likely could

They'll sell 100.000 tickets even without that match, even if the main event is Cena vs Reigns.

I never wanted to see it. I will make better use of my time if it does happen and then catch w/e is after it....same as I will do for both of their matches this year.

Re: Do you guys still want to see Sting vs. Undertaker at Wrestlemania 32?

It really depends on how the Wyatt/Taker and Sting/HHH matches look this year for me.
Yeah, same for me. At the moment I want to see it, but if both of those matches are ridiculously bad then I'd have to admit a lack of desire for them.

They have a year though and I don't expect either 'Taker nor Sting to be used in any capacity but WM matches again, perhaps they could use that year to choreograph something special. A 20 minute segment with 5 minutes for entrances could be fine if they put the effort to stick to what they're capable of.

I must admit that I'd have sooner seen it this year. Sting/Taker and, somehow, Wyatt/HHH sound infinitely better to me than what we're getting, and I don't dislike what we have now.

I think so. They both live in Texas and it will more than likely be the last for both of them. Plus, it will be in front of 100,000 fans. It'd be a very nice send off for both of them.

Re: Do you guys still want to see Sting vs. Undertaker at Wrestlemania 32?

All this talk about them being too old and not in ring shape anymore is just talk right now.

Taker had a bad showing last year because Brock is stiff as fuckn and concussed Taker very early. In the years before that his Mania matches were always great. So lets so how he is working with a better opponent first.

Sting might not have had the best matches in TNA, but in WCW he was one of the best heavyweight wrestlers ever. Hopefully the bright spotlight can bring that back out in him. And Triple H just had one of the best matches of his career and could even carry Sting a little if needed.

The matchup is one of the last iconic ones we actually have a chance of seeing and both guys are more than seasoned enough to know how to put on a match despite any limitation they might have. They could do it at WM40 and I'd still mark out.

HELL NO. Hate the idea of these old timers vs old timers. It's pathetic circle jerk for Nostalgia era and attitude era marks going on and on about how great things used to be and how everything today is total shit. Fucking motherfuck the fuck off, mother fuckers. I don't want my WM events to be dominated by guys carrying AARP cards.

Re: Do you guys still want to see Sting vs. Undertaker at Wrestlemania 32?

I wouldnt mind it as long as its not the mainevent however im not interested at all. Two old guys facing off has never been interesting imo. In 2004 this match would of been gold. Now? Nah. Just as I wouldnt be interested in Austin/hhh or Austin/rock hell Austin/Lesnar. Gotta mix up the old with a little new. Austin vs heel Cena. Taker vs Wyatt. Rollins vs Michaels. Bryan vs Michaels. And the list goes on.

ppl want taker sting rock austin maybe even hogan with matches at WM32. I can respect that bcuz they are draws, but don't expect any of those matches to be good. So WM will sell, the promos and RTWM will be good, but the matches will be god-awful

Sure. I don't have high hopes for it as a match, but the only other Undertaker match I'd be interested in is Undertaker vs Cena, but even that's lost a lot of its appeal.

It's not a big deal and, with them both being part time workers, working a special attraction match ties them both up and allows the main roster to wrestle each other (hopefully).

I genuinely believe that Taker/Wyatt and Sting/HHH is a test to see what they can still do and what better way to see what they can do than at Wrestlemania.

Don't forget that word that Mcmahon prefers over Professional Wrestling.. 'Entertainment'

The promo's, the videos, the stare down, the history, the build up alone is enough alone to sell. It's of my opinion that the "WWE Universe" is only 30% Pro wrestling fans. The rest is Entertainment fans such as kids, parents of kids, drunk guys who reminisce over Stone Cold and Goldberg, the ones that don't care about age, technical skills or have any knowledge of what we here on Wrestling Forum think we know lol.

Of course Mcmahon will make this happen, If he can set himself up against Bret Hart with no one to carry one another then he will sure as hell put two men that are in good shape for their age to go.

I don't think it will stink up the joint either. I don't know where people get the idea that Sting isn't in good shape. I don't think there's been a better in shape mid 50's wrestler than Sting. His last matches in TNA weren't bad at all. He's not going to wear his Tshirt at Wrestlemania. He's had a year to tone up, He's not stupid. And WHO cares if he's going bald. I saw someone use that against him on here... Really??

They wont be able to do a 1999 match no. But I don't care. I'm an entertainment fan, a pro wrestling fan, I've seen what both guys can do, and honestly, they could do a lot worse. I am begging for some kind of stare down, confrontation or just some sort of segment where Taker/Sting is hinted at. I'll even be routing on the next night RAW.

I honestly never understood the other side of the coin where people still wouldn't want to see the match. I respect the other side of the coin though, I just don't get it. If they were in Kevin Nash and Hogan shape then sure I'd say really consider that one might be over. But it's not. they can do something here and as long as they can do something I'm going to mark out like I've been waiting to do since 2001.

A match between two guys that never show up? The build up would be god awful, the match would probably suck and both are too old, but because I used to dream of this match I'll just pretend to enjoy it and attempt to convince myself I'm watching a classic. :lol

Better late than never I guess. :vince$

I've been a Sting fan since 1997 but I never wanted him to have a match with Undertaker, because that character never had appeal to me.

And not because both of them dress with dark clothes, means they should to wrestle each other... Sting character is a troubled lone wolf, while Undertaker is a Halloween character...

Sting should have some more matches in WWE if his match with the boss is decent, but I don't care for Undertaker.

There's people out there that want to see Austin/Rock again, Austin/Hogan, Michaels/Rock, Austin/Punk and many other matches that can't ever happen either because they're retired or years past their best but it's the spectacle of seeing the face off on the biggest stage rather than the actual match so why not Sting/Undertaker seeing as it's up there in terms of dream matches.

Are they past their best ? Definitely but The Undertaker has shown every year outside of last year that he can perform brilliantly once a year at WrestleMania and last year he'd gotten a concussion a few minutes into the match, Sting doesn't have the in ring ability that The Undertaker has shown but he can tell a story and build a match brilliantly so whilst the match wouldn't be as good as it would have in 1996-2009 it will still be good based on the build up, hype and story telling from the two of them.
