now imagine if they debut on attitude era. they both would be glorified jobbers instead of main eventers. they both suck as main eventer and bryan while good but not main event material. but a great uppper mid carder
reings is worst person i have ever seen in main event. he is super model instead of wrestler. he is not even powerhouse, he wear vest to hide his body which is much like bo dallas. he is as "badass" as barbie or cinderella.
honestly if roster were present at attitude era than i imagine face of era would be dean ambrose as hardcore edgy wrestler and main eventers would be ambrose, wyatt, sandow and barrett. and maybe miz on some ocassion becacause of his mic work is good.
Where would Austin have been during Hogans runs in the 1980s, look at what Foley was doing in WWE at the time, jobbing in seconds to hogans friends like kamala
Hogan himself would have been working security had he started at the same time as rogers, thesz and bruno
reigns would have been a much better fit than rikishi for that "I did it for the rock" storyline. He has a great look, size and family and nfl connections all elements Vince loves so he would have got a big push somewhere down the line. Test got a mainevent storyline and reigns is better than him.
Bryan like punk would have become big names in ecw and Wcw would have signed both. There they would be in a similar situation to Benoit, Eddie, Rey, Jericho and probably jump ship to WWF in 1999-2000. Bryan might have stayed loyal to Wcw till the end but WWF would brought him in with a push like the radicals or booker eventually.
Reigns wouldn't be main event anything, not able to talk or do much of anything. Have to remember SCSA and Rock would be at the top so no love from Vince. He'd prolly be a crony of the Boss Man or something lower midcard. Bryan would be crusierweight, prolly putting on some good matches with Jericho etc.
All these answers shows how much better the product actually is today wrestling wise.
The fact that you see the best actual worker being no more then a low lever mid carder shows just how bad in many regards the Attitude Era really was in terms of actual wrestling.
Like always the WWE had the vulgar circus and WCW had the actual talent that was misused most of the time.
To be fair, maybe those proclaiming that Bryan would be better than the Rock are just being sarcastic. I can't even fathom or even imagine any scenario of Bryan being bigger than the Rock during the AE. That would be like saying 2+2=5.
What is with these dumbass fans who think guys like Punk and Bryan are even half as popular as Rock was in his prime.
Do they think he was fucking Alberto Del Rio or something. Jesus christ. Only people IN CONTENTION are Austin and Hogan. And those three are astronomically ahead of everyone else.
The idea that Bryan or Punk could compete with Rock is the most laughable thing on the planet. Are they DX or the Nation because those were the only tickets to the Main Event. 97-98 was Austin, Undertaker/ Kane/Foley, stable wars, and sprinkle in some real MMA fighters. Everything else was just novelty acts. No disrespect to Punk and Bryan but they're hanging out with Al Snow in the JOB squad if they were in WWF in 98-99.
Now they could make a name in WCW or ECW and make it later on. They can be a Jericho or Benoit but coming up in 97-98 required you to be part of one of the premiere stables. Foley the only exception and he embodied the hardcore wrestling of the time and was heavily attached to Kane and Taker.
With Reigns it's a bit more interesting because he can attach himself to the Rock. He could be apart of the Nation, could be apart of the Corporation. Storyline wise there's a million ways for him to go. The question is what's his character and how well does he portray it? He wouldn't be Roman Reigns.

I heavily disagree. Punk IS Attitude, right down to the way he attempts to live his gimmick. He would fit in very well with the likes of Austin and Foley. He's a tremendous talker. He has that "I'm cool, I don't need you" kind of charisma that Austin and Rock had, which is what made fans love the shit out of them. And it's why Punk was always so over with the older ex-AE fans of today. Probably also why Austin was interested in a match with Punk, and not John Cena, despite him being the face of WWE for 10 years and counting.
Daniel Bryan would be the american dragon version and be kicking peoples asses. tap or snap.
If DB was as over as he is now for the past year in the AE he would be pushed to the moon.
Its funny to see the rose colored views of each fan base. Truth be told......i dont think either guy has the mic skills or charisma to be anywhere near the main event scene of the attitude era.
Think about it in this regard; niether guy can touch the fuckin ROAD DOG of all people on the mic. How far did he go????
Bryan fan, not a Reigns fan(especially with how they're using him) posting here-
Both would be mid card. Especially Bryan. I imagine both would get comedy gimmicks or something like that. They might try to push Roman, but I don't know how successful that would go when you consider how stacked the roster was back in those days.
I'm happy that it ended personally. it really wasn't the best time in the business even though it did make money but it lost a lot of what Wrestling is suppose to be about.
Also in the end really the wrong side won but Vince has a knack of finding a way to win.
Reigns is a worse version of Test. And he wasn't big in the AE, just a midcarder-low midcarder who's push got stolen by Triple H.
Bryan is Dean Malenko, but he looks goofier and less serious, so Malenko would win out, and Bryan would work at McDonalds.
And for a bonus, Punk would be a sarcastic jobber. Like Gillberg, he says he's "The Best in the World", and does 10 minute promos, but would lose every match and join the job squad. Would be quite a popular gimmick tho.
The Attitude Era was filled with fun characters. Bryan's shown he can be pretty entertaining (Team Hell No) so he'd have a solid spot in the midcard.
Reigns back then would be less restricted with his promos, so he'd have more to offer then compared to now, imo. In-ring work wasn't a big deal back then. He could be a respectable midcarder, like Steve Blackman was.
