So, as much as I loved the Attitude Era, I think the small bits of progress society has made since then is a good thing, especially when it comes to sexism and homophobia in popular culture.
I have a real problem with the top face, one specifically marketed towards children, setting such a poor example. Now, I get that Lana is "an evil Russian". She's a heel; a bad person. But when you attack her, not for her beliefs or character, but for her gender, you send the signal to every young kid that there's something inherently wrong with being female.
If WWE is going to run a Be A Star campaign, this kind of shit needs to stop. Just because a female heel says heel things, doesn't mean it's okay to attack her for having a vagina. That's not a message the face of your company should be sending. It just kind of disgusts me.
It wasn't funny when Rock, and Dean did it either. It was terribly cringy and out of place when Dean did it.
Why is Lana a ho? Because she has lady parts? She has shown nothing but devotion to Rusev. Same with Steph to HHH.
Lana should be treated as an intelligent loyal manager that is the Secret Weapon of Rusev. Lana says CRUSH then Rusev crushes. Instead of calling her a ho the storyline should be how to get Lana out of the picture if I have a match with Rusev.
This has got to be one of the most pathetic, in your feelings, ****** ridden threads I've seen in years. Of course I wouldn't name anyone in particular because that would be against the rules but yeah, the level of faggotry in this thread is too damn high.

LOL-ins is actually in the right here while the WWE Section continues to look dumb as fuck.
Yeah, this is a bad move on WWE. It makes no sense. So any other time, you all want to call WWE on literally everything but miss something like this?
Don't even say "YOU ALL WANT ATTITUDE BACK BUT WHEN YOU GET IT, YOU COMPLAIN." First off, fuck Attitude Era. Secondly, fact of the matter is, we're not getting that era nor are we in it.
So why the fuck is Cena, a character who's gimmick is made for the PG generation and represents to kids and Be A Star calling Lana a ho? The fuck is the kid going to think?
"Mom, what's a ho? Is Lana a ho?" Later, the kid is going to start calling successful girls who turn them down "hos".
Yeah, it's an issue. A petty one, but it's a legitamate issue. It really does make you laugh at the Be A Star, Cena shit.
That being said, I did enjoy seeing the heelish Cena. It just didn't make sense and it's the last thing a fucking character that's designed to make kids look up to him should be saying. He's not The Rock. He's not Stone Cold. He's not Brian Pillman, Roddy Pipper, or CM Punk. He's not even Daniel Bryan. He's fucking John Cena. Why is he throwing out insults like that?
After 10 years this still surprises you? It's Cena, most of his promo material is cringeworthy childish shit. He always uses the stupidest, cheapest insults. "your breath stinks, what have you been eating, bigfoot's diaper?"
People should not get offended so easily. Let alone because of a two letter word. Does that mean nobody can call anyone anything if it is on TV? How much would that suck? Suck it up.
Do we really have to be so politically correct these days? I hate Cena, but his comments are no worse than some of sex based insults he has tossed at male wrestlers over the years, like them having small penises or no balls, or the gay jokes he used to do. And given the way Lana always used to walk out on the ramp and walk back and forth provocatively in those short skirts of hers, it just invites those kinds of insults.
Or have we all forgotten about her doing that?
A better complaint would be why guys like Cena have to use bottom of the barrel insults like that rather than complaining about some perceived sexism.
The Rock called Lana a 'Soviet streetwalker' and that's ok apparently cos it's The Rock and he can get away with it. But John Cena can't, cos he's John Cena...
WWE has always been sexist. The booking alone is evidence. John being a hypocrite is also not news
