That was the real mistake last year. I thought Wyatt could have been the heir apparent to Undertaker. They are similar enough character wise, and it wouldn't have been a terrible idea to transfer the streak to Wyatt.
But then they had to make Wyatt lose in his very first Wrestlemania, and give up the streak to Lesnar, because of that this match is not nearly as intriguing as it could have been.
I totally agree, I find it hard for Taker to lose 2 Manias in a row, then again, maybe he could end up going 22-2, with him winning his last Mania in Dallas (Home-state crowd and all).
IT would have worked better if Taker was 6 or 7 years younger and Wyatt could carry a match and Cena didn't bury his ass. God that match won't be great. Pity could have been epic.
Agreed, OP. Sorry I can't add anything else to the discussion but it's true.
Especially with Taker's loss. Wyatt is alright, considering his recent booking and showing at the RR, but if Taker loses then it further taints his legacy and is kinda like "what's the point" and if Wyatt loses well then he might get a good rub if it's a nice match and he nearly wins, but people would still be annoyed.
Between a rock and a hard place. I actually don't want this match, in all honesty. Taker's next match should just be a retirement match and Wyatt has a few people on the roster he could still feud with and go over.
For some bizarre reason I want Face Sandow and Wyatt simply for the promos. :hmm:
I said it the night after, Brock Lesnar being booked to beat Undertaker was the worst booking decision of all time. Even if Taker was really beat up, it would've been better for him to rest then come back then just give the streak away.
Lesnar could've lost to Taker in a hard fought match and still could've earned his way to the title the same year.
I want to be interested in it, just imagining Taker slay Wyatt on the mic, ( i believe Wyatt's mic work is stale), but the loss did fuck shit up for this match. Good post op.
I think this feud would have worked better if Bray still had his family, we'd get more back story on Sister Abigail, and if Bray's feuds after Cena didn't start with a random ambush and lead to repetitive, hazy promos.
The Streak doesn't define The Undertaker, he's had an amazing, Legendary Career which is more important than the Streak ever was. The Undertaker taking another loss wouldn't hurt Taker in the slightest, all it would do is make Wyatt a star and they could even work it into a retirement angle with Undertaker losing again, then he can have 1 final Mania where he goes out on top.
Bray Wyatt needs a victory at WrestleMania, it's crucial in elevating him to the next level, Bray Wyatt is going to be Wrestling for a long time, he will be 1 of the guys that carries the company in to the next decade, I've mentioned this in previous threads, Bray needs the rub. The Undertaker losing 2 Mania's doesn't matter when you look at his Awesome, illustrious career outside of The Streak.
Bray losing at Mania is irrelevant. He still would have been squashed along with his Wyatt brethren by Cena later on. Now Taker still having The Streak would be awesome and there would be much more interest in the match, in my opinion.
