Well I liked to think Rusev would be a future star but no way is he beating Cena....

What do you guys think about this match? Think Cenu will overcome the odds or Rusev is actually getting pushed?

Great logic of WWE to bury somebody that could be a mega heel if he beat Rusev.. Heck he could put over Bryan after Cenu and have a great match and shit and give Bryan somebody that has never lost..

MAYBE have Rusev tap out Cenu and he will be super credible already a star and put over someone to make another star..

But WWE or Vince is so out of touch that he will probaly put all those talented men like Rusev,Ziggs and Dean in the midcard FOREVER

And I have had enough of Cena parading and overcoming the odds... Its 2015 jesus..

Hope Rusev wins.. Dont want him to end up like Bray Wyatt... Even though he had to get super mega heat for eliminating Bryan and lasting 45 minutes just to be credible again..

Is it just me that is thinking that Rusev has to be going over at Fast Lane for a Mania match to make any sense?

Obviously he won't be making Cena tap but is a pinfall win really that unlikely?

I mean, the guy has been pushed as hard as anybody over the past year.

We all know Cena is going over at Mania and raising the American flag and all that bullshit because Vince is a cheesy cunt.

If they want to keep Rusev relevant though they really need to have him go over Cena in one of their matches.

Even if Cena then goes on to beat Rusev again at Extreme Rules he'll still have had that win over Cena and they can still keep him relatively strong if they book the third match right.

Maybe they'll just do some bullshit non-finish though :shrug That isn't fucking interesting anybody. At least if Rusev goes over it's a talking point.

It will probably be a DQ finish and the feud will continue until WrestleMania.. There's no way Rusev defeats Cena clean a month before Mania... John Cena will eventually pin Rusev to end his undefeated streak, can't you see it now? Cena hitting the AA on Rusev pinning him 1,2,3... John Cena always has to be the one to end these guys momentum.

well after Bray Wyatt Cena is hungry for more momentum to stop

I understand Rusev should eventually be beat, but not this way, and not by Cena, whats Cena to gain, and you know its going to look bad when they are going to cheer Rusev over Cena like they did Rusev over Reigns at the Rumble lol

Americans would rather cheer a Russian sympathizer over your top faces WWE. Thats some serious shit right there... Does WWE even know this, they seriously cant go on booking this, they can't be that dumb?

Cena has ruined everyone I have seen him in a programme with since I started watching WWE again (Zack Ryder's injury angle) with the exception of CM Punk.

I really liked Rusev too.. I really felt he had something given time. He knows how to sell, to really sell long term. not just fish flopping... No point in caring anymore, he'll be dancing and shuckin and jivin in half a year anyway.

Since Rusev's debut, at least the way I've always felt, is that this character will be who Cena faces at Mania. Almost as if Rusev was created for this very purpose. It seems that Cena has stayed away from the ME scene as long as Reigns and DB can stay healthy and creating a rusev can help keep Cena in a "big match" without main eventing.

I dont know, I've never felt Rusev had a lasting gimmick, someone is going to beat him, why not the wrestler WWE puts in the forefront of any American scene gimmick or promotion.

When was the last time Cena "overcame the odds"? I get that's the "cool" thing to say around here, but it hasn't really happened in a while.

I hear you guys talk about it every week in the Raw thread, then he ends up losing or getting a cheap win (Sting interference, etc.)... I hear you talk about it every PPV, but he hasn't had a big PPV win in like 6 months. He loses twice to Lesnar, didn't "overcome the odds" against Lesnar and Rollins, got eliminated on his own team at SS. Lost the feud with Orton for the title.

I'm not saying he'll lose to Russev, but winning wouldn't surprise me as they've had him losing a lot lately.

It's really a simple issue.. the same one I've been saying for far too long now. The WWE sacrificing the future to feed Cena, and again.. it's not losing to Cena that's the problem, it's the seemingly insane lengths they use in the process to make the victims character shattered beyond repair.

The end is always the same.. No matter what happens, Cena doesn't just win..

Scorched Earth

Read up. That's a Cena feud in two words and the accompanying explanation. And very very soon, Reigns will take his place.

Unfortunately, I think this is pretty spot on. When he first came onto the scene, I thought, "wow, this guy is impressive. He's big, but can move better than a lot of smaller guys, he sells well, etc."

I guess he needs a mouthpiece or whatever, but unfortunately it seemed like Lana started to overshadow him. It was almost like Lana was the star/one in charge, and Russev was just her servant so to speak. Honestly, I think he should have taken a couple of losses before now just to get them out of the way. Once he loses, it seems like it's over for him at this point. It just seems so hard to book a guy to have such a long winning streak and then have them maintain their strength once they lose.
