Back in the day as a kid I'm sure I felt pretty anxious before big PPV's. As kids my friends would talk up a bunch of crap before HBK's big title defenses back in '97 and early '98, so I felt like there was always something extra on the line... I remember after WrestleMania 14 that was one where all my buddies wouldn't let me forget the results, and then the Tyson K.O. to go along with the loss.
It made wrestling so fun back then when so many people were hooked on it.
Why get nervous for some one else s job? Just sit back and relax and watch some fucking wrestling.
I get exited when I'm about to play a brand new video game but not when I'm about to watch something unless It's something huge like the next Star Wars movie or John Cena vs The Rock.
I don't know why, but I really want Bray Wyatt to win... He's the biggest caliber name that isn't super heavily advertised for the Rumble, which is suspicious... Swerve plz.
I'm more excited for the Rumble than any PPV last year besides Revolution. WWE did such a terrible job of telling stories that I didn't give a damn about anything except The Shield vs. Evolution. I'm interested in seeing how the Rumble plays out from top to bottom.
Considering that I'm gonna be at Wrestlemania 31 live, I'm very interested in the WWE Title match, and ESPECIALLY the Royal Rumble itself. The people who win both will most likely be the guys I watch live in the main event.
A decade ago yeah. Thesedays the outcomes of a fake sport dont really bother me at all. Its not like winning a pro wrestling match actually means anything at all.
It's not a fake sport, it's a performance. Wins and losses and mainevent pushes matter a great deal. It's like any other TV show: you want your favorite characters to be doing interesting and important things, right?
Me, yeah, I'm more nervous than excited. I'm dreading a Reigns win, but I still have hope for Daniel Bryan.
Not this one, because I have nothing to look forward to and have long since accepted that we're getting a terrible Rumble winner. The Rumble, either Reigns wins, and I fucking loathe him, or Bryan wins, and I dislike him. Nothing to get excited about there. The WWE title match, either Brock wins, hate him, Cena wins, hate him, Seth wins, hate him, and want him to lose even more than the other two because him winning would give him a WWE Championship on his record. Nothing to get excited about there. The rest of the matches aren't even on my radar.
If WWE does something out of the box like gives Bray Wyatt or Dean Ambrose a WWE Championship match, I'm gonna be on edge because I want them to finally make it in WWE and win the title, but something like this PPV, it honestly doesn't even give me the motivation to watch it. Reigns is winning, who cares.
I still get excited for the rumble. I even get excited when the ring announcer goes through the rules and we are going to find out who the entry number 1 is going to be.
Nervous? Not so much, just a little worried of Reigns winning.
As others have said, not nervous, but certainly an anticipatory feeling.
