The Rock to return and win?

I know its not likely but it would really be awesome and unexpected if The Rock returned and won the Rumble match and before anyone starts with the ''he would be holding young stars down'' thing then listen to my unexpected and unpredictable prediction for the Royal Rumble and main event of Wrestlemania.

Everyone is waiting for that surprise entrant we get nearly every year, we are down to the final two entrants number 29 and 30, the seconds start ticking until entrant number 29, 3 ... 2.... 1 and out comes Randy Orton, the crowd pops big for the return of the viper but little do they know that was only a decoy so it would throw them off any more surprise entrants, the fans are hot for the return of Orton still as the seconds start ticking down until entrant number 30, The Rocks music hits and out comes The peoples champ to one of the best pops of the modern era in Philadelphia one of the best wrestling towns there is, The Rock wins the Rumble match and is destined to face the winner of the Cena,Brock and Rollins fued, who I predict will be Brock Lesnar.

So Wrestlemania 31 is set and it will be Brock v The Rock in the main event of Wrestlemania which was the original plan for Wrestlemania 30 until Rock got injured, the big match happens and Rock gets his win back on Lesnar from Summerslam all of those years back, we have a new world heavyweight champion, but the only problem is, he is part time, The Rock celebrating his win against Lesnar who is leaving the company to join UFC comes down from the ropes holding the title very fatigued walks into an F-5 from a very angry beast Brock Lesnar.

Everyone thinks Wrestlemania is over as The Rock is laid out and Lesnar has made his way behind the curtain to alot of boos, suddenly Seth Rollins music hits and runs down to the ring to cash in his money in the bank briefcase and hits a injured Rock with a curb stomp and pins The Rock 1,2,3 in the middle of the ring to end Wrestlemania 31.

This means we don't have a part-time champion, we get a big marquee main event match at Wrestlemania that will draw loads and we really create a new star in Seth Rollins who will have nuclear heat and could walk into a fued with Roman Reigns who could fued with Rollins having a ready made fued good to go and could also add the layer of Roman being The Rocks cousin and fighting for him as he is so badly beat up from the match with Lesnar he can't be there to get revenge on Rollins.

I mean I don't expect this at all but my mind comes up with these scenarios and I feel I must share with people to get their opinions on it and discuss them, it would be awesome if WWE went this route and had mmore thought into their storylines.

What do you guys think ? Do you think it would make sense? It could get the Royal Rumble match more buzz as its been lackluster the past few years, could get us a good road to Wrestlemania, send off Brock and create a new star heading forward for WWE and give us a great Wrestlemania main event.

EDIT: Rock tweeted this less than an hour ago less than 24 hours before the Rumble in Philly ! I may be correct !

Re: The Rock to return and win?

I don't really have in interest in Rock/Brock any more, I think last year was the year to do it. But now there are so many different match combinations with the current guys that I just don't care to see it.

Re: The Rock to return and win?

Brilliant idea! I doubt it will happen but it would be awesome and Rock/Brock is by far the biggest match they could have at Mania, and probably the last chance to see it. Rollins would def have to cash in. I wouldn't return Orton in the rumble if that was the case, maybe bring him back in the title match to screw Rollins or bring him back on the raw after to set up the feud. Mania - Rollins goes over Orton and then cashes in! he will do that if its Brock/Bryan aswell. Its going to be fucking Reigns though and no cash in :(

I think your idea is dreadful, sorry

Re: The Rock to return and win?

His reign is pointless anyway, he is leaving in a couple of months. They wasted the streak on him and they are going to give the streak rub to Roman Reigns, who nobody wants to see, and will be shit on by the mania crowd. so if its not Bryan (who it should be) then id much prefer The Rock (but lets be honest, never going to happen! i just said i liked the idea). In an ideal world Brock resigns with the wwe and they can do this properly, but i doubt it.

Re: The Rock to return and win?

It would be a surprise,to be sure, and generate loads of interest but still neither man could make every Raw,so the Mania main event guys would be absent for a number of RAWS which is far from optimal. Also it would truly highlight how ridiculous it was to end The Streak. Brock could have still won the title and faced Rock, with Taker still maintaining The Streak.

Nah, Rock shows up when he is building for a match, he was there quite alot in his build up for the two matches with Cena, and punk. Plus Brock should be on alot more now in his build up for mania. So if they did go with it, they would make it work.

Re: The Rock to return and win?

The Rock should of never came back a few year's ago. Now people are expecting him to come back all the time now.. It's unlikely he's ever competing again, he came back to put over the top star in WWE, that's it.

Re: The Rock to return and win?

The Rock is too big for the Royal Rumble.

Stone Cold Steve Austin is too. Hogan too (although he's old, so it's a bit weird to think of). Taker and HBK are probably also too big for it at this point, but less so. But Rock - by *FAR* the #1 name whose "too big" for the Rumble, and Austin right behind him.

What do I mean by "too big" ? Well, the Royal Rumble is about getting a title shot. "Kayfabe" wise - The Rock needs to return on Raw, say "I want a title match" and he would get it. So putting him in a rumble match seems kinda useless to me.

If Stone Cold returns to the ring - same concept. He's big enough a name that he just says he wants a title match, and gets it. No need to earn it.

Re: The Rock to return and win?

From a pure money making point of view it's gold.

However what are Reigns, Bryan and Cena going to do in this scenario.

WWE could just have Reigns go over Rusev and win the US title. That would be sort of a big deal and he'd ''look strong'' :reigns

Cena and Bryan are left without a match though.

Could they face each other if it's non-title? It would be hard to build a story with two babyfaces with no title on the line.

I suppose we could have them teaming up after the rumble and it leads to them winning the tag titles only for them to get a bit of a rivalry going and for this to cost them the belts some point before Mania and for Cena to then challenge Bryan because he beat him last year at Summerslam.

Actually that isn't a bad idea.

Rock vs Brock- Rock goes over, Rollins cashes in and continues feud with Orton over to Extreme Rules.

Rusev vs Reigns- Reigns goes over.

Cena vs Bryan- Rematch - Bryan goes over, they shake hands and move on. Cena takes a step back from the main event for a while.

I think with those 3 matches plus Rollins vs Orton and HHH vs Sting the card would be stacked. Add some stips to 1 or 2 of the matches too to spice it up.

I wouldn't complain if we got this. :shrug

Certainly. Though I think if you're going to have The Rock in the Rumble he needs to win. I'm the biggest Rock fan in the world and I don't think that's a great idea. Maybe he'll just show up for a fun promo or set-up his role for Mania. Or maybe he won't show up at all and this thread will be useless after tomorrow.
