Is UK 'Mania really the impossible dream?

For years we've been asking for it.
Now there's no better opportunity than now.

There's no doubt if we can hold a shambolic Olympic Games with the Army as security surely we can hold WM.

Obviously the time issues in the US are the problem - but maybe they can find out how we feel every month watching PPV's at 1am on a Monday morning.

An Olympic Stadium that barely used with a ridiculous watch tower could be a great place for WM - also central London.

Personally I think to could spur on the plans for London airport expansion.
This could be good for the UK economy if Cameron and his chums could understand it.

Vince, it's time to wake up and face reality that the UK needs paid back for the Network shambles.

Ship has sailed... for now.

UK fans deserve a classic, so if there is another wrestling boom, that's when we should have a WM in the UK. Otherwise, I don't really give a damn. Although I'm sure there's many others that would trot along just to see the show.

Best case scenario, we get another SummerSlam.

I'd love it, but I can't see it ever happening

Wrestling outdoors in your pants in England in March sounds like a bit of a cold one. People would be getting stabbed by stiff nipples left, right and centre.

In all seriousness, though, I think we'll be more likely to get a Summerslam as opposed to a Mania. It's less of a roll of the dice for them and the weather's likely to be a bit more predictable in August.

Just be glad WrestleMania is not heading to the UK.. You wouldn't escape it, WWE would be there to annoy you the entire week..

It'd be amazing if it happened but one of the reasons I guess would be the delay/spoilers thing. For some reason, despite people worldwide staying up late to watch live PPVs, Vince doesn't want American fans to have to do the same and watch it live as it happens in another country.

It's a stupid reason because it'd be the afternoon for most US time zones but hey, once they get enough North American subscribers to WWE Network, it could happen? Wouldn't have to be beholden to cable providers who have a schedule in place already for the time it would have to air over there.

I would love if One Direction performed live at a UK Mania.

Because Cena would be with them. They might even perform for him before he gets to the ring.

And the crowd would let them have it SO beautifully

Vince in the back like, "This is why we don't do things over here"

If WWE really wanted to live up to the name World Wrestling Entertainment, they'd have divisions across the planet in different continents.

They'd have the WWE Network feature wrestling from everywhere from Europe to Canada, Japan to Mexico, The U.S. to South America, etc etc.

They'd separate a market for kids and those of older demographics.

They'd have Wrestlemania feature the biggest matches from the top stars across the globe.

They'd treat WWE like a league for the sport of professional wrestling.

BUT NAH, MUPPETS AS GUEST STARS THO

If the UK did end up getting WM.
I hope they don't bury the event like the closing Olympic ceremony with
non stop One Direction or Take That.

It's not a concert.
It would destroy the event have to much guest stars - and in no way allow The Queen to attend.

We're the one of secondest biggest WWE markets in the world thats why.
We have a more than new Olympic stadium that is 50,000 is two years old and Wembley stadium that is 90,000.
One of the strongest economies in Europe right now and the transport links to hold 'Mania. Now the olympic track has been ripped out you could do it in the olympic stadium or Wembley.

We have the support to fill it and hopefully the UK Governments backing if the vote for it was passed.

Financially we could pull it off.

I olympics was only £8.77bn :jericho2

It's a money issue. You can say it's "World" Wrestling Entertainment all you want doesn't change the fact that over 50% of their buys come from the States and that time change would really f*** that up.

Now with the Network you can argue maybe that can change. You can broadcast it live and have it available to people when they want to see it as well. As long as they're reliant on ppv though it's financial suicide to hold it outside of the States/ Canada.

You need to remember the WWE target audience is in North America. They'd have no issue moving it to say Mexico or South America because its in the same Time Zones.

If they moved it to the UK the start time of the event would be late at night.

So would you want to go to a WrestleMania in London at 1:00 AM so it could start at 7:00 on the east coast?

I think this is one of the main reasons why they DON'T want it to happen, the UK crowd have become one of if not the smarkiest crowd on the planet, I very much doubt Vince wants to see Cena & Reigns get royally booed out of the building by that amount of people.

Unless they play on having Bryan Vs Rollins Vs Ziggler as a main event one day I can't see it happening.

WM in London would be alright if it went live at about 4 or 5:00 AM London time so that it could air at a reasonable US time. I believe the east coast in the US is about 5 hours behind London; which makes the west coast of the U.S. 8 hours behind. The WWE just simply isn't going to sacrifice "prime time" U.S. viewership on a Sunday night. That's the answer.

The real question here is if people in North America would mind watching Wrestlemania in the afternoon?

Lets say the event starts 8PM London time, that's 2PM Eastern and 11AM on the west coast.

WWE will probably take a hit on the North American market, but they'll make up for it in Europe.

If the WWE network continues to grow and meets it's goals over the next year, then it doesn't matter where or when you hold the event, you've already gotten their money. People in North America can watch it in the afternoon or not watch it, they've already paid their $9.99.
