When Bryan claimed the championship in April, he did so by conquering The Authority — first WWE COO Triple H and then Randy Orton and Batista in a triple threat match. The Authority, which just returned to power recently, fired three wrestlers this past Monday (Jan. 5), and Bryan expects his old rivals to come after him as well — starting this Monday in New Orleans.
But Bryan is thinking bigger. And badder.
"Brock Lesnar is also supposed to be on (Monday's) show," Bryan said, referring to the WWE champion who ended The Undertaker's undefeated WrestleMania streak at the Superdome and then defeated John Cena for the title at Summerslam in August. "And to me, that's still my championship. My dream match for WrestleMania this year is if Brock Lesnar keeps the title and I win the Royal Rumble, and I wrestle Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 31 for the WWE championship.
"That's the match I want," Bryan added. "That's the match that I've been thinking about this entire time that I've been injured."
Just fucking do it Vince you walking fossil of shit :mj2
Fucking idiot would just be taking a pile of cash, pouring gasoline on it, lighting it on fire, and then wake up the NEXT day wondering why he didn't make as much money as he anticipated.

This match needs to happen because the alternative is dog shit. Nobody in their right mind would want to see Reigns/Lesnar over Bryan/Lesnar unless they're a diehard Reigns mark. Bryan is more over, Bryan is the better worker, Bryan can ignite the fans in a way not very many people can and just fucking book the damn match. Bryan/Lesnar is better for the fans, for Lesnar himself who is treading water despite ending the streak and for WWE as a whole. Reigns/Lesnar is good for nobody. Reigns will be exposed, Lesnar will be exposed, the fans won't be truly accepting and WWE will have another false idol as the face of the company.
I do think Bryan will win the Rumble and I sincerely hope Mania 31 is Daniel Bryan vs. Brock Lesnar. No other match is as enticing as this one. None.
Unless Daniel Bryan runs over Brock Lesnar with a YES theme Monster Truck, this match is retardedly unbelievable. Lesnar can mollywhoop Punk, Cena, Triple H, Big Show, and Undertaker but 5’6 170 pound Daniel Bryan is his kryptonite…I want what you guys are smoking.
My lord just give people this match. No need to risk Roman and have people shit on him because they want Bryan. I'm not here to see a young talent get ran over by the Yes train and shit.
..Yeah soon.....he'll get injured again, or continue as an extremely bland face, don't get me wrong he'll get a great pop for the first couple weeks or so but then they will have to turn him heel again because he simply cannot connect as a face.
I wanna see this match. The pyschology and story-telling behind this match could be excellent. It's a David vs Goliath story on the grandest stage, and I just wanna see what they can come up with.
I honestly think that Bryan coming up with a strategy, using technique, playing to his strengths and trying to find the weaknesses in Brock Lesnar is more interesting and believable than powerhouse Roman Reigns coming in and beating Lesnar 1-2-3 with a superman punch and spear.
What makes Roman Reigns any more of a threat to Lesnar than Cena or The Undertaker? Whatever it is, we have not seen in yet. Whereas with Bryan, he is sold as technical mastermind that can go into a match with a clever game-plan. Plus he has a tendency to overcome odds (look back at WM 30), that is something that that Brock Lesnar is yet to face. Reigns doesn't have anything about his game established that is unique.
The only upper echelon wrestlers he hasn't beaten are Taker, Lesnar and the Rock, none of whom he's faced.
People can try and trumpet out the size difference argument, but Bryan's credibility has been built to the point that he's second only to Lesnar in kayfabe rankings.
Not only that, if people have seen Bryan's matches out in Japan or his shoot wrestling matches they would have seen he is more than a worthy opponent for Brock.
And if people really think that "Yes" was the only thing MLB fans remember moreso than Bryan then they are clueless. If that was the case, he wouldn't have been voted Celebrity Fan of The Year by MLB fans nor would he have been embraced in his appearances.
You know, sarcasm and hilarity aside, that would actually go a long way to changing the public perception of size equalling dominance, and could actually help future small guys get taken seriously, drawing money, in a much quicker time period than usual.
That said, Bryan/Morishima was fan-fuckin-tastic and it was very much a David/Goliath encounter in the way it was booked.
I always love the believability argument. There is nothing believable about pro wrestling, get the fuck over it. Hasn't been in a long time either. Bret Hart was beating guys like Diesel and Taker, Shawn was beating Sid and Vader. Shit, an "injured" Bryan just beat 3 guys who are considerably bigger than him in one night at the last Wrestlemania, and it was very well received. Guys show up to the ring in Bunny costumes, it's a fucking cartoon show at this point. Fuck off with this realism/believability crap.
Bryan should face Brock because he's considerably more popular than the alternatives, not to mention better. It would be the best match, best story, best draw (between the speculated options), best clash of styles. You have a clear, popular/sympathetic babyface vs the top heel. With Reigns/Lesnar, I wouldn't at all be surprised if the fans flipped on Reigns and got behind Lesnar.
Summerslam 2013 - Daniel Bryan knee'd John Cena in the face, not his elbow. therefore "clean"
The Daniel Bryan/Randy Orton series:
Daniel Bryan always had Randy Orton beat, but got screwed, he beat Randy Orton clean before the Authority storyline even started on June 24 2013.
Raw June 24 2013 - Daniel Bryan beat Randy Orton
Night of Champions 2013 - Daniel Bryan had Orton beat at Night of Champions, Referee simply counted fast just in case, so Bryan would get screwed, Armstrong was a corrupt and evil Referee from The Authority.
Battleground - Bryan had Orton beat, was screwed by The Big Show
HIAC - Bryan had Orton beat, was screwed by Shawn Michaels and Triple H
Raw December 16 2013 Daniel Bryan had Randy Orton beat, Randy Orton knew this and disqualified himself.
Elimination Chamber 2014, - Daniel Bryan had Randy Orton beat, Corporate Kane screwed him
So there would be no point in having Daniel Bryan beat Randy Orton at Mania XXX because it would leave us wondering if he could beat Batista.
At Wrestlemania XXX we already knew that Daniel Bryan could beat Randy Orton, he beat Orton too many times already, thus why he went over Batista. in a Triple Threat match if you fail to stop the win, then it's due to your lack of ability, Randy Orton lost that night.(kayfabe wise of course, Wrestling is fake)
Daniel Bryan beat Evolution and John Cena cleanly.
Might be a trap set up for us who want this kind of match. Maybe they want us to be sooo hopeful to the point they might screw us over out of spite.
Or maybe I'm just looking too much into it. :lmao
Either way, I'd like this match to take place not only because I'm a mark for Bryan but rather just to show the 'this-match-is-unrealistic-bryan-is-too-small'-peeps that it is possible and that sometimes you aren't meant to apply 'realism' over fictional matters.
