Update on The Backstage Morale in WWE

Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

According to sources, backstage morale in WWE has been noticeably different after the recent Austin/McMahon podcast. The basic feeling is that McMahon buried almost everyone in the locker-room except for Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt. Sources report that McMahon see's potential in those four guys but nobody else is currently on his radar. Dolph Ziggler (for now) may be the exception to that rule.

The source reports that nobody for years has been willing to reach for the "brass ring" and McMahon's comment hit home with the guys who have had stop-and-start pushes and never were booked in a manner that would have made them anything but mid-carders.

One topic of discussion was Cesaro as he was being looked at as a top guy who would eventually become a huge babyface. Of course, this fell apart once they turned him heel and he was booked as a midcarder.

Following the backstage morale dropping, Triple H gave a speech to the entire roster before a recent WWE TV taping. One source described it as a "damage control" speech that backfired.

The guys in NXT love him, but on the main roster, whatever he said lost him a lot of credibility, particularly with those who have been there for some time.

Admittedly, he was put in a bad position, trying to come up with a positive spin on what Vince said to a locker room that he buried and are frustrated because most were done in by the stop-and-start booking and a promo style that gets almost nobody over.

Basically Vince only cares about the guys that are in relevant programs and he's possibly willing to give Ziggler a chance to change his mind on him.

Other than that everyone is pissed as rightfully so and poor HHH was forced into a bad spot with the main roster for trying to lift the morale.

That stop and start pushing just rings true especially for Swagger. Honestly, I think he's content with being a company man and making his money and he still brings it in the ring, but ever since TLC something has been off with him. Hopefully they fix their fucking act and give well deserved talents like him, Cesaro, Barrett...ALL of them better treatment.

With what Vince said, honestly, they should have tried to get a group walkout during a live broadcast of RAW or something. They're all overworked far too much and I don't think it's too much to ask if you want to be treated better and be allowed to show your talents and be given fair opportunities.

WCW part II ... Sad as it is, but what's happening in the WWE right now in terms of roster disgruntlement is mirroring the WCW days when everyone was bolting for the WWE.

What's even sadder is that this is happening WHILE they acknowledge on their own god damned shows that roster morale and start/stop booking that led many of the stars to dead ends was one of the reasons for guys bolting as well as the company losing the MNW ...

Surely they can't be that fucking clueless now can they?

Wonder where most of them will go...:hmm:

Wherever Swagger goes, though, I will follow, even if he stays with WWE, but goddamn do they not know what the fuck to do with their talent or themselves.

The only thing that is fix this is Vince retiring and Dunn getting fired with HHH taking over the main roster and running it like NXT.
It has to be worse for people looking at Roman Reigns a guy who has done NOTHING and has been hurt the past few months but is said to be winning the RR, then wining the title at WM And keeping the title for a long long time .

This is why i don't want to see anyone from NXT get called up two the WWE main roster because Vince and Dunn will ruin them.

Its too bad ROH does not have a rich person backing them, they could be great compeition if they had a strong backing.

Not really, Emma, Dallas, Rose were destined to fail even before they were called up to WWE. What works in development will not always work in the main. Emma, Dallas, Rose were not created by Dunn nor Vince. It was Dunn who was pissed off at the characters of Rose, Dallas, and Emma, and that is coming from Dumb Dunn.

What pisses me off the mst is the WWE giving a GREAT TALENT LIKE NEVILLE a fucking Mighty Mouse gimmick! Like WTF

You put him on NXT so he could develope Charisma and his Persona for what? A year? And when he finally is ready to make it to the big leagues. He gets a gimmick change. I hope they don't go through with this. Like Colt Cabana all over again.

Fuck Vince and Fuck Dunn

I guess I'm the only one who thinks that anything written in the dirtsheets might not be factual?

He's such a moron.

Even the guys reaching for the "brass ring" are booked like dog shit in one way or another.

Hey, Bray wants it! He's reaching for it! Let's feed em to John Cena at the biggest show of the year! That Cena could use a big win! It's not like he hasn't done everything there is to do in this company! :side:

And don't even get me started on Dean. :lmao

Right? It's funny how the top 4 prospects still get shitty booking. Even the supposed poster boy and "Powerhouse" Roman Reigns who gets his ass kicked for extended periods of time before making a miraculous comeback.

Cena needed the rub. Wyatt just wasn't ready :cena3

:eyeroll Tell me about it.

I thought you quit the forum because I haven't seen the Samuel L Jackson sig and avatar set in ages :lol

I wish someone in the locker room would try to organize some kind of unified protest, like a group shoot interview or just some kind of walkout or on-air Tomfoolery to make Vince look like an idiot. Ideally it should be everyone other than Cena and the 4 "brass ring" guys.

The WWE should also have a Heyman Or JR type handling the booking for each show in an overseer capacity, with just one writer per show.

The WWE still has a lot of talented guys on its roster, they just don't give the vast majority of them good, consistent storylines or booking (or even anything specific to do at all) most of the time.

The "brass ring" concept is really horseshit in itself because those are just guys the WWE chose to give strong booking (at least for a short time) and constant TV/storyline time to. You can't grab something that's never offered to you in the first place. If the WWE actually was a meritocracy those kinds of comments would make sense, but that just isn't the case. That's why you have a B- player in Cena getting arguably the strongest booking of anyone ever for a solid 10 years and counting.

The problem is vince sees something he likes then overdoes it then gets bored. He's turned Rollins and Ambrose into geeks, put Wyatt in a feud that not only makes no sense but he needs the win as much as the guy he is facing. Cena is facing brock AGAIN. Orton got pulled.

Pulled Cesaro's push despite being over so he won't over shadow Reigns.

Make Ambrose look like a geek that can't win

Ruin the months of booking for Rollins with a bullshit display of weakness

Push Reigns despite not being ready and then stop and go him in his matches where only his punch looks strong and not the man himself.

Push Swagger, gets over then have him lose to Rusev in pathetic ways and then do nothing with him

Push Zach, put him in a crappy story involving Cena and bury him despite him having the loudest pops and people buying his merch

Takes big e, woods and kofi and does nothing for them. Get's scared NoD 2.0 will scare people so puts them in a shit stable

Breaks up the Wyatt family for no reason then does nothing with them as singles.

Promotes the dust brothers then does nothing with them after they win the titles.

HHH is what's best for business but he needs to let Vince pay for his own mistakes or he going to share in the hate. I know from experience that even if you had nothing to do with someone being an asshole, if you make too much apologies for them you look like an asshole too.
