The damn story writes itself. HHH is not the story right now. He's not who was screwed out of a win. He's the guy that Sting stopped from sabotaging wrestler(s) daily life.
Seth Rollins is the guy that was screwed out of the biggest win in his career. He is the future. He's been calling out Sting.
Sting vs Rollins, the match that gets old timer vs future of wrestling. The headlines write itself. HHH's hand chosen future of the WWE. What's best for business.
From an IWC and marks point of view, this is the match that makes Seth Rollins, Seth Rollins. Sting marks tuning into WrestleMania31 to see does Sting still got it and what's so special about this Seth Rollins guy? New fans are introduced to Seth Rollins. This is it. HHH vs Sting can happen anywhere else, at any point. There is no need to make it WrestleMania. This should be about getting Seth Rollins the rub. He's that next guy.
No, it doesn't. Seth has no star power, he's booked like a helpless coward, and Triple H has a vendetta against Sting for costing him his job. Part timers and legends are the only draws of Wrestlemania this year.
That Cena match at TLC ruined rollins whole year of booking. Not only did Rollins look like a bitch but now he don't even look like he could cash in successfully on even hornswoggle. Reigns didn't even need to punch him in that match, Cena beat him already, I'm shocked he didn't see Reigns and fall onto the table by himself and then after cry and shit himself while Cena gave him nuggies and took his lunch money.
How long does HHH need the spotlight, this isn't about HHH. This is about the future of the WWE. This about Seth Rollins. And it works because you might get 2 matches out of Sting. One at WM31 the next one Summer Slam 2015 vs HHH.
Well, you've got to get over it. Triple H at age 45 is a bigger draw than the entire roster. All of them. This is Wrestlemania, not some throwaway D tier PPV like TLC. It's their job to make as many people care as possible. Star building comes during the season, they failed to do it with anyone not named Roman Reigns, so they've got to stick with what works.
Sting debuting at WrestleMania is a draw in itself.
Seth Rollins the next it guy. He's the company's top heel. When you hear radio adds his name is either mentioned 1st or 2nd to Cena.
Explain to me why in the biggest setting ever, does it make sense to keep the guy you want to get over for the next 10 years out of the most buzzed matches.
Because the name Seth Rollins means nothing to the mainstream audience. If you told the average guy on the street that stopped watching wrestling for the last several years that Sting is wrestling Seth Rollins, he would ask "Who the hell is Seth Rollins?" and proceed to wonder if any of his old favorites are still around. Tell him Sting is wrestling Triple H and you've got his attention.

I can't believe I just heard the "he does have star power" line.
Look at the last 2 years. Look at this year. It's been Seth Rollins. Booked badly and still OVER! as the top heel. "You sold out" chants nightly.
I'm confused here, isn't this the time you make him a star? If the product is to survive? what are we going to do? feed him to Randy Orton to get RKO'd again and lose more heat? This is it. You're introducing him to the world by the end of the night IMO he needs to walk out WWE Champion.
My god people think about all the dumb things this company has done to hold back it's future talent. Get it right once with the male talent. Just once.

Who the hell is Seth Rollins, That's THE WHOLE POINT!
You're introducing the guy at the grandest stage!
HHH is not going to save or draw more viewer week after week. They aren't going to tune in Monday to see a guy in a suit. An active guy who could become the WWE Champion that you tune in for the night after WrestleMania.
Considering ratings have tanked considerably since Survivor Series, I'd say you're 100% wrong. WWE drew a huge number when people thought they'd get a Sting vs. HHH confrontation and 750,000 of them tuned out after the first hour when they didn't get it. Wrestlemania isn't the place to make stars, it's the place to showcase stars.
Nobody is gonna pay to see Sting vs Seth Rollins. As much as I'm for putting over the new guys and throwing the old guys away (I'm not for pushing Seth but that's a separate point, Sting is unique in the sense that he's NEVER had a match in WWE before. Not once, and he's probably only going to have one. People want to see him fight a big star. If he has a second match, then you talk about crossing him in with the new guys, and then you can even put the new guy over, because nobody is gonna complain about Sting losing his SECOND match. All that matters is that he wins his first.
Gotta love the hypocrisy here tho.
When it's Rollins: No! He can't have match with a legend! It should be someone established like HHH or Taker! Seth is a new guy, he's not a star!
When it's Reigns: He should be the one to ME WM! Not someone established like Bryan, Orton or Cena. He is a new guy, he needs the rub, that'll make him a star!
OMFG.
The difference is Reigns is on a 2005 Cena type of rise with overwhelming fan support about to dethrone the big bad monster(swap Lesnar with JBL), and Rollins has a terrible character that's regressing and not many care to see. There is NO benefit to Seth vs. Sting. If Sting wins, he beat a pussy. If Sting loses to J & J fuckery, he just got beaten by a pussy and two dorky bodyguards. It would be insulting to the fans and completely waste Sting's first match in WWE.
They'll probably have Seth and Sting have a match before Mania in one of the PPVs. Would be awesome to have the match at Mania but the set up for HHH and Sting is just as good.
Seth and HHH are probably the 2 guys who can make Sting look great which in turn makes the match actually watchable.
Sting could be going against Ryder and Mania will still draw because Sting is wrestling on Mania :lol. Not sure why some people think Sting vs Rollins wouldn't draw in people.
Rollins has lost like 2 matches or so since the Shield breakup and is one of the very few characters (full time or part time) that gets a reaction from the crowd. He is plenty over and getting better every week. He's one of the 1 or 2 guys on the roster who is getting better each week.
I can see Rollins and Sting having a match somewhere down the line. They've been hinting at it already. That said, it shouldn't happen at WM.
If Sting has more then one match then sure, Seth vs Sting wouldn't be a bad match to have at say Fast Lane or something, but if he's one and done he should only go against HHH or Taker.
If I'm to play sides here. The WWE formula of putting HHH over because he's the closest 40's marquee name they can put up for WrestleMania who they say draws buys. It doesn't work. That formula has failed. It only worked for the Rock.
Sting is going to draw. The only thing here is lets play the what if.
If you're an ex. WWE/F/WCW fan you're tuning in to see Sting. Sting likely goes over. The match likely 20-25 mins. After Sting wins. You as that viewers knows Sting is not a fulltime wrestler. Why the fuck am I tuning in on Monday Night?
I have no reason to flick on the USA Network or WWE Network because Sting isn't a fulltime wrestler. And I know HHH isn't a fulltime wrestler.
What if, I saw the future Seth Rollins put on a show stealing performance (because he can) come up short, Sting goes over. Or HHH interferes cost Sting the victory, setting up their match for a future PPV. Because I have 5 dates w/ Sting I'm down to 4 or 3 after WrestleMania. Same night Seth Rollins is still in my head, wow that Rollins gave Sting a good match. Hey let me watch Lesnar vs this Roman guy that looks and reminds me of Diesel. Roman Reigns or whoever is (subject to change) beats Lesnar, new WWE champion!!!
Suddenly, (Seth Rollins music?) wtf? he has Money In The Bank??? Oh my god, no!
cashes in. Seth Rollins is the new WWE Champion. The guy Sting beat?? or loss to??
