Anyone getting their hopes up for A Rollins' title reign during the Summer

I know Reigns is going to be "The guy" going forward but we all know Reigns will likely lose the title from an MITB cash in.

However, I hope for Rollins' sake he's not stuck feuding with Reigns and Cena for the entire duration of his reign because he's made quite a few enemies in Kayfabe due to his "selling out". Not to mention, after how much he's carried Raw on his back he deserves more than just being stuck feuding with two guys repeatedly. I mean him and Ambrose outdrew a Cena/Lesnar PPV together and Rollins has stood above the pack even during booking pitfalls on the shows.

Optimistically I think that if Dolph's IC title reign isn't mishandled , he could gain enough momentum to get elevated to the main event in time for a Summer push and chase for the World title next fall and though Ziggler deserves a real main event slot, they should atleast protect him with consideration of Rollins needing valuable opponents for when he becomes champion.

If they keep enough faces on the roster protected and not "booked up" like they were in Bryan's reign.

In no real order, These guys should be Rollins' non-Cena/Roman Reigns' opponents:

Daniel Bryan:

Tremendously over and the two have chemistry in the ring. Not only can Bryan says he's back to claim something he's never lost but he's disappointed that Rollins of all people sold it. Rollins' counterpoints can be that he's cashing in and he's tired of Bryan always "getting in his way" because he can claim Bryan "got in his way" in ROH and he didn't get his chance until he left...just like in WWE where he once again got to be on top while Bryan is away

Randy Orton:

Orton's rivalry started due to him being tired of putting out Rollins' fires and how HHH treated him as the golden boy over him. He can also obviously hold resentment for Rollins injuring him with the curb stomp on Raw.

Ziggler:

These two have had an ongoing mini-feud since Rollins joined The Authority during the Summer and during that time Rollins became a thorn in Ziggler's side by costing him the IC title amongst other things. Rollins can still hold resentment towards Ziggler for not only beating him on Smackdown but losing to him at Survivor Series.

Dean Ambrose:

This one writes itself due to the Shield history these two have and Ambrose can say that despite the distraction by Bray Wyatt, he hasn't forgotten about their rivalry and how every time he's come close to getting his revenge, someone or something has constantly got in his way but now he's not letting that happen anymore.

Now will WWE even put this much thought into it....Only time will tell but knowing Vince, probably not but hopefully all this is considered for when that time comes.

And when Reigns(if he's still being forced as THE GUY) re-enters the chase for Mania 32, he'll have a well booked journey and reason to redeem himself by beating Rollins at the event.

For the people that DO like Rollins, what do you guys think?

Terrible logic. Edge had a whole stable behind him when he won the world title like30 times. He had Lita interfere on his behalf just to be able to defeat Ric Flair in a wwe title match. Rollins is one of the most protected guys in the wwe. He beat Orton clean and has gone over Cena. It doesn't matter that he uses a security force. Successful heels throughout history have used interference and security. They're SUPPOSED to look weaker than the faces but still win through unethical methods. Such as interference. What kind of world do you live in where heels win on merit? They don't, that's how they get heat.

And even so, Rollins has beaten big names fair and square. Even so.

Anyway, I like Rollins but I'm not excited about the idea of him being champion. Simple as that. His current character doesn't lend itself well to the role of big time heel who must be toppled. He's gotta change some things and elevate that character.

For the people saying Rollins isn't believable as champ....Do people forget that through most of HHH's time as a top heel, he couldn't win matches clean to save his life but at the same time he was still credible as a heel because the crowd hated him. The only time he ever looked like a threat was in his feud with Cactus Jack.

So Rollins continues to not lose clean or often on TV or PPV then I think he'd be good for it.

Let's not forget that despite Rollins being cowardly they've still built the curb stomp up as something dangerous and Rollins' is still booked as someone who can still work in the ring well with any opponent despite that.

You do realize Triple H used his own dirty tactics to win matches, right? Sledgehammers, pulled turnbuckle pads, chairs, low blows, eye rakes, etc. A lot of the dirty tactics of the past are no longer possible due to retarded WWE restrictions, but they're still going about this the wrong way.

Did Patterson and Briscoe constantly escort Corporate Rock to the ring and save his ass every 5 minutes? Hell no. Rollins looks like a joke right now and the fans know it.

Outside of that though, with all circumstances considered, WWE wants to go all in with Reigns no matter what but for it not to come off as forced, Reigns needs a big payoff victory that's built from a Journey. Not just beating Orton, getting injured, magically winning The Rumble and beating Lesnar. So let Rollins cash in and win the title to run with it for a while but protect Reigns by having him climb his way back up to the top.

Hopefully WWE does better at convincing is that's it's asinine to get your hopes up for anything interesting.

Yeah I think he will have a short reign in the summer. I hope he gets 3-4 successful title defenses under his belt atleast. He won't be winning clean of course and he shouldn't.

I'd have him face Dolph Ziggler, Dean Ambrose, Randy Orton before dropping it to Daniel Bryan at Summerslam.

Bryan can maybe drop it to Rusev or someone later before Reigns eventually wins it back.

Personally I am.

What I'm not looking forward too is the Rollins hate train that will be born in the process on this forum. There are plenty of people I dislike, nothing wrong with that - but the amount of posters that come out of the blue & spend their entire time on this forum devoted to bashing an individual are fucking annoying & ruin this place for me.

So yeah, besides that one aspect - I look forward to a nice Rollins title reign.

Plus, I don't have a problem with Rollins' "whining" they need the Authority back because it's actually been hilarious due to how trollishly he says. Ryback gets destroyed and he blames it on the Authority not being around lmao.

Also, look at the Shenanigans Rollins was pulling to keep his team strong at Survivor Series. That was credible heel 101 shit when he was rascally creating distractions for Team Cena prior to Cena's elimination.

It works well because heels are NOT suppose to tell the truth and the fact that Rollins' finisher has been built as dangerous ala the punt kick AND that he doesn't job weekly like Christian. He keeps the crowd hating him through pretty much everything he does especially in a time where it seems to be hard for heels to get booed like heels.

They won't want Rollins to "spoil Reigns' moment" after he wins the title. They'll have Rollins cash in on Orton or Bryan after they beat Brock most likely, and then have him hold the title for a few months before eventually losing it to Reigns. He might or might not still have the belt by summerslam. But I do think he leaves wrestlemania as champion.

I'll admit that WWE's track record doesn't often lend itself to "hope" for anything.

I want to see a cool title reign with Rollins and mapped out what I think is a logical direction to take him but :lmao: how likely is it that logic would be used by WWE?

He would need a good, credible and popular chaser. Otherwise ratings won't survive unfortunately.

If he becomes champion I would imagine it'd be in the summer, since that's the only time the wwe seems interested in trying out new and interesting angles. So I do look forward to the moment he actually wins, even if it's tainted by bad booking (which it will be).

Not sure how we can fairly debate whether Seth Rollins of right now is a contender when this thread is about him in the summer of 2015. He could be a whole new character by then. Look at Punk in 2011. He went from losing to everyone in sight, to then within a month becoming such a threat Vince Mcmahon thought he was going to take down the company. If the writers want, they can make Seth a big enough threat. And he's talented enough to pull it off.

I hope they know it would be stupid to either make Rollins get the belt just to drop it back in 2 months or make him lose the MITB because of how much the WWE has fucked themselves with the heels....because that's by extension fucking Roman Reigns even more so than he can possibly fuck his own push.

Yeah, like we totally didn't know that wrestling is fake; they fooled us.
