I'd have to say HHH vs The Undertaker WM 28 HIAC. They claimed that it ended an era which it certainly didn't, very rarely used the cell, HATED HBK trying to stop the match numerous times..... ugh. Just HATE this match that's claimed to be "great" also didn't like the dx finisher, yeah like they would REALLY end the streak that way. OVERRATED to the fucking tee.

Angle vs Taker from No Way Out in 2006. I will never understand the praise this match gets. I have a hard time calling it a good match.

- Both Rock/Cena matches: I don't think too many people on here like those matches anyway, but WWE hypes these up like they are the greatest matches of all time. To be fair though, they did draw. I personally can't sit through them.

- Punk/Jericho WM 28: Just an average match to me.

- Punk/ Taker WM 29: It was good, but Taker really showed his age in this match. The match was way below the quality of the last several Taker WM matches.

- Punk/ Cena MITB (In terms of match quality): No way in hell I would give this match 5 stars, unless you are only grading it based off the build.

- Foley/ Taker HITC: Hardly a match, and is only known for two big spots.

- Trish/ Mickie James WM 22: I never saw what was so great about this match. I guess a lot of the guys liked the lesbian stuff in the storyline, that is literally it, the match itself was just average IMO.

- Austin/Taker SS 98: I recently watched this match, it was just boring to me. I'm a big fan of both guys, and I was hyped to watch it. I never got invested, and was waiting for it to be over.

- Bret/ Owen SS 94: Extremely boring cage match IMO, all they did was try to escape the cage for 30 min. The build leading up to it was cool, but didn't really play a factor into the actual match. If you are in a heated feud with someone, you are going to want to kick the guy's or gal's ass, there was hardly any of that in this match.

- Bret/Bulldog SS 92: I just don't see five stars in this match.

- Shawn/ Razor WM 10: The only reason I say this is overrated, because it is still regarded as the best ladder match in history. For 1994, this match was fantastic and revolutionary, but since then there have been several ladder matches to have surpassed this. It is historically significant, but not the best ladder match IMO.

I think Punk vs Cena has the aftermath to. At the time there was Cena and then Orton and then..........two months prior R-Truth headlined a ppv ffs. This made a star and at the time, for the past year or two the main events hadn't seemed even good let alone special so having an awesome match like that was incredible and ushered in an era of consistently good main events.

Roman Reigns vs Orton at SS 2014, considering it got 4 stars lol. Also The Rock vs Cena considering all the "Once in a lifetime" crap and then they ended up having a rematch the next year

I still love Savage/Steamboat WM 3 and always will. Nothing overrated about it IMO.

For me, here are the matches that always get hype/praise but I can't stand:

HBK vs Bret WM 12
HHH vs Undertaker WM 27
HHH vs Undertaker WM 28
HHH vs HBK HiaC Badd Blood 2004
HBK vs Razor Ladder Match WM 10 ( their SS 1995 ladder match is SO much better)
Cena vs RVD ONS 2006

All this Punk/Cena talk just reminded of another match I find overrated:

CM Punk vs John Cena from SummerSlam 2011. I just don't get what there is to praise about this. This match is exactly what people envision "overrated" MITB to be. An average match without the atmosphere and hype. This is a carbon copy of their MITB match only with the atmosphere taken out and in the end, it turns out to be dull as fuck. I like their MITB match and it's a classic highly due to the energy in the arena. You take it out and that match is no longer a classic. But you don't need to use your imagination because that's exactly what you get with their rematch here.

HBK vs Razor Ramon from Wrestlemania X is also overrated because it seems to get the automatic "greatest ladder match ever" label for simply being the first ever (televised) ladder match. There are plenty of ladder matches that are better from the TLC tag matches to Benoit/Jericho to several MITB matches.

I have to go with Cena vs. Punk at MITB 2011. I thought it was a boring match with a lot of botches. Cena was his usual shitty self and Punk was far from at his best.

Honorable mention goes to Bret vs. HBK in the Iron Man Match at WM12. Not because of talent or execution, but because of the length and the boring nature of the match. Everyone would have been better off if they just had a standard match without the Iron Man stipulation.

Cena vs. Punk MITB 2011. That match gets overrated IMO because the "atmosphere" was cool. Also because of the circumstances regarding CM Punk leaving. The match itself was nothing special and didn't get good until they started reversing each other's finishers.

4/10 indeed.

Agreed, as I've said before.

Another match that's overrated is Punk vs. Jericho from PayBack 2013. Dave Meltzer gave this match 4.5 stars. Absolutely not. The match was boring and sloppy. If that match was a 4.5/5, then Ziggler vs. Del Rio from the same ppv was a 5/5 because their match SMOKED every other match on that ppv. Hell, I'd put the Divas match over Punk vs. Jericho.

CM Punk vs Brock Lesnar - Summerslam 2013 [**3/4]
Daniel Bryan vs Batista vs Randy Orton - Wrestlemania 30 [**1/4]
