If a cashier spends ten hours a day practicing his item-scanning and button-pushing skills but he's still inefficient and mistake prone, why should I feel bad for him when he's taking forever to sell me my stuff?
Honestly, Cena never bothered me too much until he refused to put over Bray Wyatt at WMXXX. It made zero sense for Cena to win, because he had nothing to lose. It killed Bray's momentum and it proved to me what a selfish SOB Cena can be.
He has worked hard and he deserves better than what he got at summerslam. He was smashed and accepted the fact he had to job just to make the crowd happy.
Lots of people work hard, lotsa people got let go. Cena is no exception, take off your rose colored glasses and realize most of his good works and charity is something he gets paid to do. Pay me enough money I'll go read to old people and go to soup kitchens too.
I don't think Cena deserves the hate he gets, but no, I don't feel bad for him getting booed. It's the risk you take as an entertainer, something that you know going into the game. If you succeed in captivating an audience, they will love you. If you don't, they won't have much patience for you wasting their time.
The same is true in stand-up comedy, music, sports, theatre, cinema, etc. I'm not paying money because I like to watch people work hard. I'm paying money because I want an enjoyable experience. If I don't get an enjoyable experience, I will refrain from supporting the entertainers until they can prove to me that their next act is going to be better.
Barry is right, wrestling is entertainment like anything.. pretty sure people work hard making movies but if it's still bad Imma say it's bad regardless of how hard the work was.
I boo him because he is boring. When I watch a crappy movie or play an awful video game I don't say "This is a great game, all the man hours that went into this!"
Every single wrestler that has laced a pair of boots has worked hard for our entertainment. Why should Cena be given special praise for his "Hard Work".
This is my biggest issue I have with Cena it's like it's his mission to try and get over as a person than as a entertaing wrestler.
I can careless how hard he works if his character bores the fuck out of me.
And don't fool yourself OP Cena is doing all this for a paycheck. I seriously doubt he is this much of a goody 2 shoes behind the scenes.
cena takes a lot of punishments in the ppv matches
think about the brutal beatings guys like orton kane batista edge bigshow has put on cena
for that thing only cena deserves lot of credit
plus cena is very dedicated to wwe
I think cena surely deserves our respect
Fuck John Cena, I don't have to respect him because he works hard. I'll never forgive him for ruining Bray Wyatt, Wade Barrett, Damien Sandow, Alex Riley, etc. Not to mention never losing a single match clean to CM Punk. Put over somebody good. Not a guy who was a star even before you were, that doesn't count. Put over some good, young, fresh, entertaining talent.
As I say this, I realize I've just doomed Dean Ambrose to the same fate.
Maybe if they didn't have the show revolve around him like they have for the past ten years then maybe the boos wouldn't be as bad. This guy has main evented almost every Wrestlemania since he's been with the company and if he wasn't main eventing then he was still in the world title picture. It's fucking stupid in all honesty, but hey if you like watching reruns of the John Cena show then who am I to judge, right? -__-
