Try to make it guys you never cared. So please no "I liked Cena in 2004 but not anymore" or "HHH except for in the attitude era" type responses
This may be because I wasn't old enough to truly get caught up in his hype (1988 guy here) but I never really cared for Hulk Hogan. I always preferred Randy Savage, and so did everyone in my family. I was really surprised at how many women loved Hogan, to the point that he could have been a sex symbol. Never made sense to me, I never bought into it. Even though I wasn't a WCW viewer, I did alternate between WWF and WCW until about early 1997. I would watch sporadically from then on depending on how boring WWF was that night. I never really cared for Hollywood Hogan either. I still marked out for Rock/Hogan but that's only because you can't deny Hogan's impact no matter how much you dislike him.
It's no secret that I am not a CM Punk fan. I never understood his hype. I always felt he was boring and unenjoyable, he was pretty sloppy in the ring and never really bought about how great a wrestler he was. Those "5 star" matches he's had I feel are very overrated. Yeah the one with Cena at MITB was good but come on it wasn't this great display of wrestling ability and storytelling like say a Taker/HBK or Bret/Owen. Yeah when he got his "Best in the World" gimmick he got to really be himself on the mic but his promos stopped being good after about a month of that. They became pretentious and smug and really turned me off of wrestling for a while.
Sting. I just never got what was so great about him. He's a good wrestler but not HBK or a Kurt Angle/Bret Hart level of great. I never really thought he was a good promo cutter and I remember in the early 90's WCW trying to make him into their own version of Hulk Hogan. Trying to rally all the fans on his side but not many bought into it. Especially with the direction wrestling was going in during the 90's and the rejection of generic babyface traits. He didn't have great stage presence, his mic skills were ok, and he just wasn't capable of being this larger than life, big drawing juggernaut that guys like Hogan, Savage, and Flair were which became evident when he didn't sell out arenas like they did, his merch sales weren't off the charts and people generally felt he was boring with no real depth to his character. That's why they ripped off The Crow which I liked but didn't like at the same time because of how unoriginal it was. I mean WWE might bring in a few rip offs here and there but at least they tweak it a bit. Sting just never sold me on being one of the greats.
