Not the same by a longshot. Austin never admitted in kayfabe that he was injured. Austin was portrayed as a man where nothing could hold him back, quite the opposite of him in real life, but that's his character, an unstoppable badass. He was portrayed as more or less furious that anybody would dare cite an injury as a reason for him not to compete.
Cena did say his injury was not an excuse, but he did play up the significance of it all. Pretty much being very agreeable and all that he needs to take time off to heal.
Nice try. Well I guess Cena's character was an unstoppable Superhero then...The Night After WM19, Austin came out and called out The Rock. Bischoff then came out and said that Austin been hiding somehting, looked in his files, found a doctors note that Austin's health was in jeopardy and not up to standards to compete and used that to "fire austin"
Not only has Cena been on top longer than Austin, but you also have factor in the Austin/McMahon storyline. Which took up majority of his career.
That was a storyline that didn't require Austin to lose clean.
And I'm pretty sure Austin has more than three clean losses.
So now Austin gets an exception?..Also, read the my entire 1st post before u sound like smart guy.No excuses
